Features to know about

Built for Heavy-Duty Braking: 7,000 lb E-Z Lube Axle Fitment

When you’re pulling serious weight, you want a hub and drum that can handle it without hesitation. This Dexter trailer hub-and-drum assembly fits 7,000-lb E-Z Lube axles with #42 spindles and pairs with both electric and hydraulic drum brakes for dependable stopping power. It’s built from sturdy iron to stand up to heavy loads and hard use, with 12" x 2" drums that work with 16" to 17-1/2" wheels and an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. Each hub supports 3,500 lbs, giving you a solid foundation for your trailer setup.

No-Mess Bearing Maintenance: E-Z Lube-Compatible Cap Access

Greasing bearings doesn’t have to be a teardown job. The included grease cap is designed for Dexter’s E-Z Lube axles, so you can add grease straight through the zerk fitting on the spindle without pulling the hub apart. Pop out the rubber plug, connect your grease gun, and the new grease flows through to both inner and outer bearings. It’s a simple way to keep the bearings protected and the hub corrosion-free with far less time in the mess.

Complete, Ready-to-Use Setup: Bearings, Races, Seal, and Cone Nuts Included

This assembly comes with everything needed to mount it right out of the box. The inner bearing (25580) and race (25520), outer bearing (14125A) and race (14276), grease seal (GS-2250DL), grease cap, 9/16"-18 wheel studs, and 90-degree cone nuts are all included. The races are already pressed in, so you can skip the extra prep work and go straight to installation. Every component is matched for proper fitment and performance on a 7K axle.

Built to Last on the Road: Durable Iron Hub and Drum Construction

Whether you’re towing long distances or hauling heavy equipment, you need a hub that will hold up over time. The Dexter 8-219-18UC3 features a tough iron drum that provides a consistent braking surface for both electric and hydraulic systems. It’s engineered for smooth operation and long service life, giving you confidence that your brakes will keep working trip after trip.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi there,i searched everywhere for the brakes and drums for this trailer and even Dexter never even got back to me.Whaen I chatted with Dawn (i think) and 1 minute later she had everything figured out and placed the order.the parts came within a couple days .Couldn’t be happier with Etrailer.THANK YOU!

by:

Joanne K. is a great asset to etrailer. Very knowledgeable about what you need and very helpful to work with. The parts arrived on time and everything went together perfectly.

by:

Hub/drum was exactly what I ordered as a direct replacement and shipping was fast. One thing I didn’t notice when I purchased the hub/drum is that it did not include a new washer. I used the old one but if say I had a catastrophic failure I may not of had the washer.

by:

Staff was so easy to work with!!! Could not find what we needed anywhere else until trailer. My camper is back on the road and they were so easy to install. Thank you trailer my family is great full. We are on to create more memories thanks to you!!!

by:

Well mounted and easy to assemble. Really recommend. Good material for my trailer 14 feet dumper trailer6 to 7 tons.

by:

Exactly as described. Replace hubs and brakes x 2 axles in less than 2 hours. Took more time jacking up axles than it did replacing brakes and hubs.

by:

Was told this came with bearings pre greased. Came with neither
Does not look like right for ez lube spindle.

by:

The 1996 tandem axle trailer had two different Dexter axles; one manual and one EZ Lube. The standard axle had manual adjust brakes, the EZ Lube had self adjusting brakes. After disassembling the two types of drums and taking measurements of drums & spindles, Josh with etrailer was able to ensure I ordered the correct parts. I replaced the EZ Lube drums and the self adjust brakes with the new Dexter drums and Terran self adjust brakes. The manual drums and brakes were replaced with new TruRyde drums and the Terran self adjusting brakes. Everything is working well.

by:

Dexter trailer hubs and brakes where exact fit for our Rockwood travel trailer. Installation was straight forward and brakes have worked perfectly since installed. Delivery of parts was prompt. Since then I have ordered and installed a powered tongue jack which also fits our camper and works well.

by:

Took way too long to ship from the warehouse. Tracking info was not specific and told me two different dates at the same time. I emailed you early in the order procesd and you never replied. I would assume that many of your customers are contractors and need parts in a timely manner. By delaying the shipping, you are delaying someones job. The parts came in dirty. I will not be ordering from you again.

by:

by:

Arrived when promised one box didn’t fair so well but looks like all parts are there. Have purchased from strainer in the past and will in the future.

by:

Parts arrived 3 weeks sooner than stated and my customer is very happy. etrailer continues to provide great products and timely delivery.

by:

Web site navigation was easy. Finding the product that i was looking for was a snap. All specs for the product were readily available. I experienced no problem with checkout. My order was quickly filled, shipped and I was notified by e-mail. Tracking app is the best that I have seen. My shipment moved much quicker than I would have expected. It was a very heavy package and it travelled from Wentzville MO to Myrtle Beach SC in 3 days! The only negative thing that happened was that the box was ruptured. It should have been packaged better considering the weight of the objects. Fortunately nothing was missing. I have a dozen utility trailer in my area and many other pull behind's, I will order what I need for repairs from etrailer.com THANKS!!

  • Upgrading 6,000 lb Dexter Axles to 7,000 lb
There are a lot of great solutions to your problem, but to upgrade your trailer axles from 6,000 lbs to 7,000 lbs, you need to replace your axles entirely. Adding higher capacity hubs alone won't change the weight capacity of your axles. Note that even if you decide to upgrade your axles, you still might be limited by the weight capacity of your trailer frame or coupler as these could be rated less than your axle capacity. To upgrade your axles, I recommend a full kit that includes a 7,000...
