We're thrilled to hear you love it! Roadmaster makes some amazing stuff! Thank you for continuing to support us here at etrailer :)

Exactly what I needed to extend my hitch on the Tundra so I can attach my cargo racks and bike rack. 100% accurate description and the video demo made it crystal clear what I was getting. From order to delivery in less than 7 days. Great stuff.
by:
Works as intended, gives me enough clearance when turning so no issues with interference.
by:
Bolt could be 1/4_1/2 inch longer .. couldn’t get retaining clip in had to use a cotter pin
by:
Heavy duty. Solid tongue. Premium welds. Does not rattle.
by:
Bought this extension for use on my front Curt receiver hitch on my 2010 Ford Raptor (hitch is under the bumper). I looked at a few extensions in person before settling on this one. I figured if I really needed to use it with my winch, I didn't want to skimp on the extension. Recently I did have to use my winch and am glad I bought this unit. This extension is extremely heavy duty and worth the money if you need a heavy duty extension.

Still working fine.

The product is exactly as advertised; high quality and well constructed. More importantly was etrailer's service. My order was lost during delivery by the delivery service and etrailer shipped a replacement right away. I have purchased from etrailer in the past and they always follow up and thank you for your business. That means a lot. Thank you etrailer for your good customer service.

I flat tow my Wranglar behind my Coachman Freelander. This extension hitch works perfect to extend the Motorhome hitch out from under the bumper. I’ve used it many times. Thanks etrailer.

by:
This receiver extension is perfect for my need. Recently purchased new E-Bikes and new bike rack. My installation excitement fell when the rack contacted the spare tire of our Jeep while raising to folded position and couldn't latch.
Found the right size and placed the order. "George" responded quickly to say the order was shipping that day! Then it was delivered one full day earlier than promised.
Extremely happy with the fit and quality and the Anti Rattle pin is great.
Thank you,

Thanks for the reply Mark C. I did want to let you know that using hitch extenders like this one will reduce the hitchs overall capacity by 50 percent. This is something to keep in mind especially considering your new e-bike. Please make sure that the hitch, bike rack and all other components are not exceeding the reduced tongue weight when using the hitch extender.

I have a 60" x 20" x 20" cargo basket carrier that I'm intending on using on my Class B+ Motor Home. With the 2" hitch on the coach is slightly recessed, this makes the basket carrier is too close that I'm unable to open it up. This extender will be the fix.
Impressed with the construction of this. The half that slides into existing 2" hitch is solid square stock (not tube steel)... Heavy Duty!
Was also very pleased with etrailers customer service / shipping. They upgraded me from standard to 2 day priority.
Thanks etrailer (and George D)

George,Thank you for your review.Just a reminder that hitch extenders such as part # RM-071-1075 do cut your tongue weight capacity by 50. That is including the weight of the carrier itself. I have attached a link for information on extenders and adapters.

by:
very very well built and a rugged design. works great.

Really heavy duty. The anti rattle portion fits and secures it tightly. Using it to extend a front hitch receiver on my 2013 F150 to hold my Warn multi-mount winch.

Be aware that using a hitch extender will lower the vertical load and line pull capacity by half.

by:
Excellent product. The extension is doing what I expected. With the 10,000lb rating I have no question that this product was designed with functionality and quality. Great product.
by:
Pros:
Works great for side-to-side stabilization. If you want more security the hole in the bolt is large enough to put a small lock thru.

For up/down stabilization I added the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and now all directions are very stable.

Cons:
Corner fillets in the receiver section are larger than other extenders or receivers so it may be a tighter fit than you are expecting.
by:
Perfect for us to extend from a very far back hitch on our LTV. This was very sturdy and allowed us to use our Swagman bike rack. The customer service was awesome. We didn’t know we were going to need before a very big trip and etrailer rushed it to us. Can’t say enough about their staff. Very pleased.
by:
The hitch extender works perfectly. I use it on a Jeep Wrangler to extend a vertical kayak carrier past the spare tire on the back of the Jeep. The extender’s bolt tightens securely so there is no swaying or rattling. Excellent product.
by:
Excellent hitch extender, very well built, arrived quickly.

Strong and durable, would highly recommend

by:
The extender seems well built and should not have any problems pulling my trailer. I had two hitches to put in it. One did not fit because of the way it was designed. It had a slanted end that cause it to be a half inch to long to let the holes line up. The second one worked just perfectly.
by:
We recently purchased a Road Master Spare Tire Carrier for our motorhome and found that it was just a couple inches too close to the rear hatch to allow us to open it to check fluids. Fount this item online and searched for a good deal with speedy delivery. eTrailer came through for us. Installation was very easy just as long as you have the right size tools. The item itself is very well made and matches the rest of the Road Master products. If you are looking to extend a hitch, you need to make sure your extension is as strong as the main hitch, you do not want to reduce your load capacity by using an under-sized extension. I can recommend both eTrailer and Road Master for this product without reservations.
by:
This is not my first order with you. I am always pleased by your service. My Hitch Extension was here in 3 days. My RV weighs 6000 lbs. I was concerned that it would be flimsy and crack under towing conditions. This extension is solid steel. when I felt the weight, it was very heavy., I checked to see if it was hollow, it was not. I feel confident that it can handle my RV and even more. the quality is excellent. Extremely Heavy Duty. Thank you and I am very happy with my order.
by:
Very good quality and finish to product except for the install. Retainer bolt threaded into extension fine and pulls it towards the left side of the coach receiver, but there was a slight mismatch in the holes on the right side causing the threads on the bolt to round over.
I'm not going to remove the extension and it is torqued in fine, but if I ever had to it would ruin the threads inside the extension.
by:
etrailer had just what I needed. I recently purchased a bike rack for our new electric bikes, but discovered that the handlebar on the "inner" bike hits the back side of our motorhome. I was looking for a non rattle hitch extension, and found it at etrailer.

This is one serious piece of steel!
by:
Works great for my Thule bike rack. Provides a solid and stable extension that allows me to open the back hatch with two bikes on the rack. Exceptionally fast service, great company to work with.
by:
The extender works great. I am using it on my front receiver so that my winch would fit properly. The extender has performed well with the use of my winch.
by:
Excellent so far. The product arrived on time and well packaged. The extender will be used with a hitch carrier (purchased from etrailer) that was modified to carry a large lifetime patio box on the rear of a camper van. The extender will allow the rear doors to open for outside access. Thanks etrailer for the excellent service as always.

The extender itself does indeed have a 10K capacity, however be aware that using an extender will lower the towing and tongue weight capacity of your hitch by half.

  • Roadmaster Hitch Extender Clearance for Flat Towing with Bike Rack
Hi Steven, Based on your setup, the Roadmaster Anti Rattle Hitch Extender part # RM-071-1075 could potentially give you the additional clearance you need between the bike rack and tow bars, but I want to make sure we get this right before recommending it. Since you are already using the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter part # RM83SR, adding the extender would create another leverage point in the system and would reduce the tongue weight capacity of the setup by half. Hello James, We have a hitch extender for you that'll work to protect your Ford Maverick from making contact with your motorhome, though the MaxxTow Hitch Extender with Step # MT70069 is ill suited for the job. Reason is the total capacity of your hitch is going to be diminished by 50%, so you're looking at a 2,500 lb towing capacity for a 3,700 lb truck. Hey Philip, you’re running into a pretty common clearance issue there. An extension would give you the space you need, but the problem is capacity. Most hitch extenders cut your tongue weight and towing capacity by 50%, and with a trailer the size of the 2400KTH, that’s going to put you well outside a safe range. So even though something like the # RM-071-1075 would physically give you more clearance, it’s not a practical or safe solution for that much weight. Unfortunately, we really...

For your Warn Zeon 10 Winch on your 2013 Ford F-150, the Curt front mounted receiver # C31068 has a vertical load of 500 lbs and a line pull ratting of 9,000 lbs. Because of the recessed receiver, I recommend the Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # C45791 which reduces that vertical load limit by 50% and brings it to 250 lbs.
