Hard stops and heavy loads reveal worn hubs. This ABS-ready Lippert hub and drum comes prepacked with bearings, races, seal, and wheel bolts, saving you time on install and restoring smooth braking and steadier towing you can count on.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Lippert's anti-lock braking system earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. The hub's toothy edge works like a tone ring. As it spins, sensors track wheel rotation and feed data to the ABS system, preventing lockup and giving you improved control when braking.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the trailer hub and drum assembly for the Lippert ABS, or anti-lock brake system. And this is rated for a 7,000 pound axle or a number 42 spindle. It's gonna be a 12-inch wide hub and drum assembly, and it's an eight lug on 6 1/2-inch lug pattern. Now folks, this is painted red, and if you reverse it, you can see it has these tooth edge.
So this is, again, a replacement hub and drum only for the Lippert ABS, anti-lock brake system, system. And what happens is, as this toothy edge rotates, it's gonna pass by sensors, and those sensors are gonna read the rotations, the gaps and everything, feed that data back to the ABS system, helping prevent wheel lockup and improve control when braking. It comes pre-greased and lubricated with the inner and outer bearings and the races, seals, and everything. The bearings are 14125A and the 25580. And again ready for a 7,000 pound axle.
Predominantly, it's a 16 to 17 1/2-inch wheel size. Again, eight lugs on a 6 1/2-inch pattern. And this is, again, a direct replacement from Lippert so you can be sure it works with their Lippert ABS system for 7,000 pound axles.
