Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if chains might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

The Konig XD-16 Pro tire chains are great all-purpose, winter weather chains. If you live in an area where you're likely to get periodic snow and ice, these Konig chains are perfect because they're durable and easy to mount. If you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with V-bar links that can really bite into the ice to give you maximum traction.

These chains are among the easiest and fastest to install because they have built-in tensioners that you can just pull taut to adjust the fit. These tensioners allow the chains to fit your tires, no matter the profile or wear pattern. And because the tensioners are built-in, you never have to worry about losing them like you might with other chains on the market.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Tire Chains

Installing these chains is incredibly simple.

Lay chains on the ground to get all the tangles out

1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks in them.

Connect the ends of the blue cable

2. Slide the chain behind the tire and connect the ends of the blue cable, which will sit behind the tire.

Connect the hook and link in front of the tire

3. Around front, connect the red hook to the red link.

Feed tensioning chain through clip

4. At the bottom of the tire, feed the tensioning chain through the large clip and tug it until it's tight.

Stretch the hook across the tire

5. Feed the tensioning chain through as many red clips along the side chain as you can, leaving room to still be able to stretch the hook across the tire. Attach the hook to the side chain directly across from the last clip you ran the tensioner through. The hook should face away from your tire.

6. Drive forward around 325' (about the length of a football field) and stop. Check the chains and tighten them as needed.

Quick Tips:

  • Lengthen the life of snow chains by drying them after each use before you store them.
  • Check out our installation kit with safety lights and a kneeling pad (PO34FRK) to make things a little easier when you're installing chains out in the snow.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Tire size on sidewall

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

Easiest to install chains I’ve ever had!

I do not know. Its too early to tell.

Great Service, quick shipping, and the Konig Tire Chains were exactly what I needed!

2020 GMC Sierra 1500

Perfect fit. Great service from etraile r.

great customer service

These chains are solid and well built. Did a test fit and were easy to install and fit well on 265/60 R20 tires. I chose Konig brand chains based on other web site forum reviews, but not only carried them in the size I needed but had a ton of information and help videos the helped me be confident in my choice. not only delivered them fast, the communication before and after was great.

I've had these before for a previous company vehicle and they are awesome! Pulling a 4 ton trailer down a snowy road, they held on tight. Smooth ride.
Excellent place to order from. Fast shipping and great customer service. Thank you!

Fantastic experience! I could not find the correct size for my car., AutoZone, and others did not carry the correct size for my 2022 vehicle. Thankfully had what we were looking for and they were able to get the chains to me in a couple of days at a minimal cost. Thanks guys

I used these on my wife's 22 Mercedes GLS450, on a recent trip to Mammoth. The tire size 325/35/23 for her car was very difficult to find so I was very impressed with the fit and function of these. We drove for about 50 miles with them over the weekend and were very easy to install and remove.

I just practiced installing these chains. It went very smoothly while following the easy to use instructions. Pretty quick, less than 5 minutes per tire.

This is my second snow chain of Konig. Great quality. There're similar products out there for cheaper price. But this build quality and thoughtful detailed design worth its price.

Amazing product! Excellent look and execution of design. Better than expected fit on tire size too. Recommend measuring inboard clearance between sidewall and upper control arm (any suspension components) to ensure full inch of room. Mine (cityboy Ram 1500 4X4 Sport) was insufficient (half inch) to clear chain on front tires. Still LOVE these chains and no regrets on purchase. Order early as mine took months to arrive (they told me that upfront though so not a dig on company at all). Highly recommend!

Great product but fantastic service! Friendly and super fast overnight!
Best ever! Thank you so much!

I have not used these yet. But I have purchased before and they are a well made product. Easy installation once you do it once, read the directions.

These chains are awesome. Easy to put on even if you're already stuck. Great service and fast shipping. Thanks!

Too expensive.

  • Recommended Snow Tire Chains for a 2023 Cadillac Escalade with 275/55R22 Tires
The Konig Tire Chains part # KON44FR are what I recommend for 275/55R22 tires on a 2023 Cadillac Escalade. These chains have a class s rating which means they are very low profile, adjusters for automatic tensioning, and nylon bumpers to protect the vehicle's wheels. They are also very easy to install as you can see in the attached review video.

For your 2020 Ram 2500 4x4 with 295/65-20 tires, I recommend the Konig # KON74FR. The diamond pattern chain gives superior traction in icy/snowy conditions. This chain is a drape over chain and is much easier to install than your traditional "ladder style" tire chains. Most folks say that with a little practice, they can install each chain in about 30 seconds. I have linked our review video below if you want to take a look.

According the owner's manual for your 2017 Jeep Rubicon you'll only be able to use tire chains on the rear wheels. For a 295/70R17 tire size you can use the Konig Tire Chains # KON64FR. These chains are rated for use both off road and on road.

  • Looking For V-Bar Style Tire Chains For 295/60R20 Tires On A 2019 Ram 3500
With you having 295/60R20 tires on your 2019 Ram 3500 Laramie, it does limit what we have available. With that said, we currently do not have a V-Bar style tire chain available, unfortunately. However, we do have the Konig Snow Tire Chains - XD16 Pro # KON64FR, again not V-Bar, but this does have D-shape links and a diamond pattern for increased traction. They are also a manganese nickel alloy steel construction that is durable and corrosion resistant, so they are highly recommended.

For the Lincoln Navigator tire size you have of 285/45R22 the most off-road friendly chain set that is still Class S compatible would be the Konig tire chains part # KON94FR which have a square link design that happens to be smaller to give the needed clearance. These are also made from a harder steel that allows them to last longer and have an easier to install design than most options. I'd recommend the Konig Diamond Pattern - D Link chains, part # KON64FR. The diamond pattern keeps more of the chains in contact with the road surface for great traction and lateral stability. The best low clearance tire chain we have for your 2022 Ram 3500 with the tire size of 285/60-20 is the Konig chains part # KON64FR. These are Class S compatible which means the amount of clearance required is minimal, they are easy to install, provide great traction, and also will last a long time due to higher quality alloy construction. These only require 16 mm of clearance on inner sidewall and top of tire.

The Konig Tire Chains part # KON64FR are a really great snow chain option for your 2020 Ram 2500 with the tire size # LT285/60R20. For tire chains that fit the 285/60R20 tires on your 2022 Ram 3500 I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2335 because they hit the sweet spot of convenience and price point. These are a little easier and better quality than the common ladder style chains but they aren't super fancy as well so they are at an affordable price. The Titan Chain # TC2536 tire chains are confirmed to fit size 275/65-20 tires. However, when I checked the owner's manual for the 2015 Ford F-350, the manual says that tire chains should not be used on 20 inch wheels with your vehicle.
