No packing bearings or installing seals—this CE Smith hub comes ready to go. It’s pre-greased with heavy-duty marine grease and already has the inner and outer bearings (L44649), races (L44610), grease seal, grease cap, lug nuts, and cotter pin in place. Just slide it onto your BTR spindle and torque the 1/2" studs. Each hub supports 1,350 lbs for use on 2,700-lb axles, so you can get back on the road or water fast.
This hub’s galvanized finish holds up against corrosion from saltwater and wet conditions. Even the small parts—lug nuts, cotter pin, and grease cap—get zinc plating to fight rust. That marine-grade build makes it ideal for trailers that see launch ramps or long seasons outdoors.
The included case keeps everything together until you need it. It’s compact enough to store in your tow vehicle or toolbox so you can carry a spare hub ready for an emergency swap. When a bearing fails on the roadside, you’ve got a full replacement kit in one spot.
Designed for BTR spindles with 1.063" bearing surfaces, this hub uses the standard 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern for wheels up to 14". The grease seal (#34823) has a 1.249" inner diameter and 1.983" outer diameter for a snug fit that helps keep water out. It’s a simple, proven setup many trailers already use.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Despite careful checking of all dimensions, these will not fit and were returned. I have now learned that there are "short" hubs that are 1" shorter than "typical". My EZ Loader trailer has these. etrailer does not list the hub length in their data so I found out the hard way, and the rep I talked to about the return says that short hubs are hard to find. (I was able to find some).
Joshua was very helpful with my order. He followed through with it right up to delivery. The parts look to be very good quality. I will buy from them often.
It was about 1/2 an inch too long. It turns out that spindles come in different lengths and I have the short kind. It would have been nice if the description included the length. Then I would have known that this hub isn't compatible with my spindle.

Hi Eric, this hub is designed for a BTR spindle which is slightly longer than the common BT8 spindle. You more than likely have a BT8 spindle that takes 1" L44643 diameter bearings for both the inner and outer. You need CE smith idler hub part # CE13215 for a BT8 spindle. You will want to double check the inner diameter of your current bearings to make sure this will work however I am about 95% sure this is what you need because it's a common mistake. Let me see if I can help you with returning the this one.

Easy install that makes hub, rear seal, and bearing maintenance/service a quick one step job. Looks even better with new bearing buddies on the end.
2 stars because one was great. Everything was as described and easy install. The second however had obviously been used or attempted to be installed. Red clip on the box was broken, had about half the grease in it as the first and had dirty grease on the seal. Unfortunately I had to go ahead and install or be stuck. Luckily made it to get grease to fill it up. Hopefully everything internal is ok and holds up.
Maybe the best customer service of any company that I have worked with. I ordered 6 Idler hub seals and 5 were correct and 1 was wrong and I informed them and was quickly shipped 2 more correct parts. I wish more companies would learn from etrailer on how to do business and treat customers.
Ordered two of these and was surprised they showed up so fast! Going on a long roadtrip with the trailer and it's better to be safe than sorry. The only defect was one of the plastic boxes they come in has a broken latch and won't stay closed. Some duct tape fixed that. Overall I am always impressed and happy when purchasing from etrailer! You guys do a great job of ensuring happy customers!

If you have a UFP/DICO 45263 hub (commonly found on 2013 Heritage/Tracker trailers with the original Vault oil-bath system), a successful replacement is:
CE Smith CE13315 galvanized pre-greased hub assembly
Replace the included grease seal with 13194 (1.372" ID × 1.979" OD)
Spindle uses L44649 inner and outer bearings
5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern
13" trailer wheels
This combination has been successfully installed as a direct replacement for the original Unique BT/UFP Vault hub.
