Replacement Hub for Load Rite 19R20 Trailer

Updated 09/11/2024 | Published 09/02/2024

Question:

I’m looking for a wheel hub for my Load Rite trailer. I think the model number is 19R20?S. It has 14” wheels with 5x4.5 spacing. Will your P/N 8-258-50UC1-EZ fit?

Hi Don; I wasn't able to find anything with the model number and even if I could, I would only be guessing at the axle size for a replacement hub. You will need to identify your axle to find the right hub. You can either look for an axle tag or pull the existing hubs off to check bearings. Then you can look for the bearing part numbers or measure the inner diameter with a digital caliper # PTW80157.

The # 8-258-50UC1-EZ you asked about is designed for 2,200 lb axles with # L44649 inner and outer bearings. Another likely option is that you have a 3,500 lb axle which would use a hub like the CE Smith # CE13515. This uses a # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearing.

If neither of these matches, feel free to add your bearing information in the comments below and I will help you find the right replacement hub.

The trailer has 1 1/16 ID inner and outer bearings. One of the bearings looks to be marked L44649. The other one I can’t read but it is the same size. We believe the axle is a 3500 lbs but it could be less.

@Don the 1-1/16 is the same as the 1.063" so they're both L44649 bearings. The capacity can vary in this range but it wouldn't be 3,500 lbs. More like 2k-2.7k. You can use the # 8-258-50UC1-EZ still just know that you're limited to 2,200 lbs between the pair of hubs. If you want to be on the safe side you could use the CE Smith # CE13315 which is for 2,700 lb axles.

And the hub is 3.5” deep. It looks to me like P/N BT-150a.

@Don actually scratch that first part. The BT-150A is a short hub designed specifically for that spindle. It looks like it is still in production, but not something that we carry. Search for that part number online and you will find what you need.
