Features to know about

Smooth, Steady Tracking on the Road: 72" Hub Face with Zero Camber for Even Tire Contact

A wandering trailer is no fun to tow. This 72" long round axle is built with a slight center bend that gives you a zero camber angle, keeping tire tread flat against the road for steady, controlled tracking. It’s rated for a 2,000 lb capacity and measures 58" from spring-center to spring-center, giving your trailer a balanced, straight-line feel every time you hook up.

Less Work, More Hauling: Pre-Greased 5 on 4-1/2" Idler Hubs Ready to Roll

Packing bearings can be messy and time-consuming. This axle comes with cast iron, pre-greased idler hubs already assembled with L44649 bearings, L44610 races, and 10-9 seals—plus 1/2" x 1-5/16" wheel studs and lug nuts. The built-in grease zerk on the Easy Grease spindles makes future maintenance simple, so you can spend less time wrenching and more time towing.

Tough Construction That Lasts: High-Strength Steel with 40% Stronger Welds

Durability matters when your trailer sees bumps, curves, and miles of pavement. This axle beam is made from high-strength steel and uses a patented welding process that makes the spindle welds 40% stronger than standard. Each spring seat and spindle is welded on and aligned for leaf springs (sold separately), giving you a solid underslung mount that rides low for easy loading and unloading.

Built Right for Safety and Fit: Certified and Sized for 8"–12" Wheels

This axle and hub assembly is CSA, QAI, and SAE-N certified for performance and safety, so you can trust it’s been tested under real-world conditions. It’s designed for 8" to 12" wheels and weighs 36 lbs overall. With a 1-3/4" axle diameter, 1.988" grease cap flange, and 5-9/16" hub diameter, everything fits together cleanly for a reliable setup that’s ready to roll.

by:

I was supposed to leave this Monday for my new job using my trailer with new axle and hardware unfortunately send me the wrong size when in the order specifically said the right size now I have to wait who knows how long ams so screw...

by:

World greats Thanks

by:

Great service. I live in Hawaii, so it took a little longer to get my order, but etrailer kept me updated and were super helpful

by:

5 stars for looks, apparent quality, and ease of assembly. My only complaint is the axle came with the zert fittings installed on the ends of the axles. This is convenient, but both were non functional upon arrival. One was slightly damaged, and both had the rubber protective material jammed in the grease fitting that I couldn’t remove. I had 2 extra zert fittings in the shop, so quick change and no problem. Maybe these could be shipped uninstalled?

Other than the small, minor complaint, the axle and hubs look great.

by:

Well built been using for a year now absolutely no issues! Definitely would buy again if I ever had to

by:

These worked out perfectly for our 1 ton trailer

by:

The axle was as described. A quality piece, nice thick coat of paint and pre greased hub and bearings.

  • Solution for Replacement Hub For 2k Axle With LM48548 Inner Bearing
The 1.375" measurement corresponds with the # LM48548. The closest thing to 1.255 I'm aware of is the # LM67048 which measures 1.250" for the inner diameter. One way or another, bearing combinations using the # LM48548 are obsolete so we do not have a hub that will fit. The best solution is to replace the axle with one that uses a modern bearing combination. To find a replacement axle you will need the hub face to hub face measurement. I have attached a helpful video below which explains...

The axle being 72" across measured from hub-face to hub-face. This axle comes with 5 on 4-1/2" idler hubs, which will allow for a ton of tire/wheel combos. • Is a 2,000LB Axle With Hub Face Measurement of 70.5" a Commonly Found Size?
This is not a common axle size. The Axle # e32GR is going to be our closest to your current axle. This axle has a 72" hub face with spring center of 58". You may be able to use this axle if you have the clearance for your tires to be moved out 3/4" on each side of your trailer. The current spring seats can be cut off and 2 new Seats # TRSS175 can be welded on at the 59" spring center you have. A U-Bolt Kit # CE23000 will allow you to attach this axle to your current leaf springs.

  • How to Find Out How Much a 14 Long Single Axle Trailer Can Haul
You'll want to look at the weight rating sticker at the front of your trailer for that info. On e of the numbers should say what the empty weight is of the trailer, one should say what the load capacity is, and one should have the "GVWR" which is how much the weight of the trailer and its cargo can be at max. Some people will look at the sticker on the middle of the axle which is a good way to estimate the load rating if your trailer doesn't have that sticker on the tongue for whatever...

  • 3,500 lb Pontoon Trailer Axle and Tire Setup to Stay Under 102 Inches and Launch in Shallow Water
Hi Terry, yes you can build a 3,500 lb single axle trailer that keeps the pontoons between the tires and still stays under the 102 inch limit, you just need to be intentional with axle width and tire size so everything fits without rubbing or going over width. A really solid starting point from what we carry is a traditional 3,500 lb idler axle like part # e65GR, which has an 89 inch hub face. That size tends to land right in the sweet spot for builds like yours because it gives you enough...
