Hooking up a heavy tow bar doesn’t have to feel like arm-wrestling a steel beam. The Excali-Bar III’s self-supporting arms hold their own weight, so they don’t crash to the ground while you line things up. Each arm moves independently and telescopes from 39-1/4" to 51-3/4", letting you connect one side at a time. Once you pull forward, the arms automatically extend and lock into position. The result is a fast, low-stress connection that works even when the ground isn’t perfectly level.
Anyone who’s tried to unhook on uneven terrain knows how frustrating it can be when the bars won’t budge. The Excali-Bar’s non-binding design fixes that. A quick squeeze of the side-mounted trigger releases the internal latch and relieves tension immediately. The placement gives a comfortable grip and keeps the arms looking clean without exposed hardware, so disconnecting takes seconds instead of minutes.
This tow bar is made for serious towing—rated at 10,500 lbs and built from steel with an E-coat finish that resists corrosion. Whether you’re pulling heavy vehicles across states or through rough weather, it’s designed to stay strong mile after mile. The arms are longer than average too, giving you a wider turning radius that makes tight corners feel easier and safer.
A level tow setup means smoother handling and less stress on both vehicles. The Excali-Bar III makes it easy with a built-in 1-1/2" rise or drop plus a head that tilts 3" up or down. You can stay within that safe 3" window of level towing without adding an extra adapter—one less part to buy or carry around.
The integrated straight safety cables are rated at 14,000 lbs—more than the tow bar’s own capacity—and stay off the ground where they belong. Spring-loaded S-hooks keep them secure, and a built-in storage rod holds your electrical cord (sold separately) neatly in place. When you’re done towing, swing the arms to either side for quick RV storage. Everything stays organized, protected, and ready for the next trip.
Flat towing can be a much more convenient way to take your car RVing with you than using a trailer or a tow dolly. It'll save you storage space both at home and at the campsite, and it takes less time and hassle to hook up.
To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.
| For the RV | Between the RV and Towed Car | For the Towed Car |
|---|---|---|
| Hitch | Tow bar | Base plate |
| Wiring plug | Safety cables | Braking system |
| Wiring adapter cord | Wiring kit/diodes |
The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

Good bar towing my modified Jeep Wrangler that weighs 5490 so I went with 10k bar. Towed about 9k miles so far all good
Easy to line up and lee. The attachment hold when connecting to the tow vehicle are great feature. Removes concern related to stable towing our Wrangler with our Super C.
This tow bar is easy to use and maintain. I do wish they shipped a cover for the arms when they are not in use.
Great tow bar at a fair price . Put on in minutes !
Put a ram 3500 mega cab diesel with 800 lbs of motorcycles in bed and towed behind tag axle diesel pusher RV flawless, easy to use.
Great price, great product. Wish Demco would put a locking hitch pin with their product. Pay the company that much money and you get a standard pin. I think Demco should send a locking hitch pin standard with all of their tow bars and a normal hitch pin with the cotter pin clip optional. Or, just include both, but definitely a locking pin standard with all tow bars.
Strong easy to attach and pulls great.
After owning another name brand tow bar and experiencing a. complete and catastrophic failure of one of the arms resulting in extensive damage and costly repair to both TOAD and the rear of the motorhome I discarded the remains and purchased a Demco Excali-bar. I couldn't have been happier. Being ever mindful of what happened in the past, I can now tow with complete confidence. It is easier to hook-up, is reliable and I have had no worry about any failure, My go to tow bar.
Love it
Easy to attach and store
The best way tom rate a tow bar is ease of hook-up. 5 stars! I love the safety cables being attached so you not required to hook them up as a separate part.
