Recommended Demco Flat Tow Parts for a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500

Question:

I have a 2025 GMC Sierra SLT 4x4 and a 2024 Newmar Dutch Star Sortan chassis. I would like to flat toe. I mostly see blue ox products out here but I also am interested in demco. What is your recommendation for a complete set up? Thank you.

Great to hear from you again, Cory! Looks like you traded in a 5th wheel camper for a motorhome?

I really like the Demco flat towing parts as well, so here is my complete recommendation list for your 2025 GMC Sierra 1500:

- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM29FR
- Demco Excali-Bar III Tow Bar # DM9511013
- Demco 4-Diode Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit # DM9523010-54
- Battery Disconnect # DM63FR (optional)
- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System # DM86VR
- High-Low Adapter (see attached article - bracket height is 18")

Are you planning on installing all of this on your own, or having a shop do it for you?

I will make an attempt myself. The coach has air brakes not hydraulic, so I need another part number. I believe most use the airforce system.

@Cory For a motorhome with air brakes you would need the Air Force One # DM26VR instead, yes. Good luck with the installations! Feel free to reach out with any questions that might come up during them!

@JonG Thank you! So you would definitely recommend Demco over blue ox or even roadmaster?

@CoryJ All of them have solid products, but I like most of what Demco has to offer most. There is a wiring kit I prefer from Roadmaster (part # RM-15267) and their Battery Disconnect # RM-766 is better, but the tow bars are a toss-up between the two. Blue Ox is okay - I'm just not as impressed with their products as I am with the others.
