Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

  • Comparing SumoSpring Options for 2020 Ford F-350 Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer
Really the only difference is that the SumoSprings # SSR-127-47 have a 1,500 lb weight capacity while the SumoSprings # SSR-127-54 have a weight capacity of 2,800 lbs. So one just offers more support for your 2020 Ford F-350 and would offer better performance for heavier loads. Since your 5th wheel has a pin weight of about 2,500 lbs I recommend going with the kit # SSR-127-54 so that this can help with all of the pin weight. It's important to note that all suspension enhancement systems...

  • How To Determine The Correct Capacity SumoSpring For A 2022 Ford F-250
Suspension enhancements don't increase the capacity of the suspension and are typically chosen based on the load that the truck will be handling. Too high of a capacity tends to give you a rough ride quality when unloaded because the enhancement is too stiff. Too low of a capacity and you'll have sag, uneven wear on your suspension, and bad handling. SumoSprings offer a much softer progression so they're one of the best options to handle the load and still give you a good unloaded ride...

  • What are the Best Rear Sumo Springs for my 2016 Ford F-250?
For your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty there are two SumoSprings options that fit your truck like you mentioned. There's the 2,800 lb kit part # SSR-127-54 and the 1,500 lb kit part # SSR-127-47. Basically you want to go with the lightest duty kit that will work for your application. Going heavier than you need will give you a harsher ride quality than you'll want loaded and unloaded. You didn't mention the pin or tongue weight of your trailer, but unless you are at the max capacity of around...

  • Recommended SumoSpring for 2022 Ford F-350
I suggest the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs, # SSR-127-47 if you will be using this to tow but also as a daily driver. This is the better option to provide maintenance-free helper springs and still provide the factory comfortable drive when not loaded. These have a 1,500 lb. weight capacity while the SumoSprings, # SSR-127-54 have a weight capacity of 2,800 lbs. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs, # SSR-127-47 compress according to the weight of your load. The sturdy...

Instead, there are two options for SumoSprings that will fit your '22 F-350, including your 4WD model: - 1,500-lb Capacity: SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-127-47 - 2,800-lb Capacity: SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-127-54 The best one for your '22 F-350 really depends on if you do lighter or heavier-duty...

  • Sumo Springs Recommendation for 2018 Ford F-250 SuperDuty when Bumper Towing Reflection 312BHTS
When it comes to adding some extra support to improve your towing experience I love the SumoSprings because they're easy to install and they provide you with progressive load support that doesn't effect the unloaded ride quality on your vehicle. With that said, the TSS-107-40 (for trailers) and CSS-1168F (for coil springs) are not the parts you're looking for. Because of the 800-1200-lbs tongue weight of your trailer, I recommend using the SumoSprings # SSF-111-47 (front) and # SSR-127-47...

  • Which SumoSprings Kit for 2020 Ford F-250 Towing Fifth Wheel Trailer
The SumoSprings part # SSR-127-47 that you have now might be your best option but it depends on if you are happy with the amount of sag reduction it provides currently and the ride quality. It's a balancing act between support and ride quality so if you need more support I would go with the higher rated # SSR-127-54. You said the truck is sitting level now which most likely means it's sagging since the rear end of the truck probably sat up higher without pin weight on it. I would anticipate...

  • How To Pick Out SumoSprings Suspension Enhancement For 2020 Ford F-250
Unless you are near or at maximum capacity for your truck tongue weight, it would make sense to use the lighter of the two, # SSR-127-47 instead of # SSR-127-54. This will provide you a smoother ride overall but especially when you're vehicle is not loaded. Either way the SumoSprings are a substantial upgrade from the factory bump stops, longer in design, and are more sturdy to absorb shock and progressively stiffen under loads. Included are video resources for additional information...

  • How Many Spacers For SumoSprings on 2019 Ford F-250
SumoSprings recommends 1/2" to 1" of space once installed on your 2019 Ford F-250. This varies between vehicles so since you want the quickest engagement I would aim for the 1/2" space. You will have to use one of the 1/2" spacers regardless for the installation of the # SSR-127-47, so I would check and see what it looks like when you put it on and go from there. If the addition of an extra spacer would give you less than 1/2" I would not add another in.

Yes you can use the SumoSprings on your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a weight distribution system. I see that you looked at options for both the front and rear axle. For the front I recommend the # SSF-111-47 SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle. For the rear I recommend the # SSR-127-47 SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle. • Are Front Axle and Rear Axle SuperSprings Helpful for 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty
In short, using both Front SumoSprings # SSF-111-47 and Rear SumoSprings # SSR-127-47 suspension enhancement with your 2020 Ford F-250 is definitely recommended. Adding helper springs to the rear of your truck is always wise, and especially useful when towing or there is a load in the truck bed. They will allow a more comfortable, controlled because they level and stabilize your truck - but only using springs in the rear is ignoring half of your suspension. The front suspension will also...

If your truck has a bump stop perch over the axle and does not 3" block inside the leaf springs, then I recommend the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-128-47-2. For your new trailer and your slight truck squat, the suspension enhancement isn't the best option. Yes, adding springs like # SSR-127-47 will help with squat and ride quality but they will not help with sway. It will help with load support in the bed and can be used just in the rear. What I recommend that will help with both squat and sway control is a weight distribution system. You also want to make sure the capacity is enough for your pin weight. This means you would need the 2 piece SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-128-47-2.
