Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this RoadActive Suspension Mega-Duty Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit. Now, this has been designed to fit your 2011 to current Ford F-250s. Now, this custom leaf spring enhancement kit is going to be an upgrade for the rear leaf springs on your F-250.

And this is for your truck, if it goes through a lot of heavy towing, a lot of heavy hauling. So, instead of replacing your factory suspension, this is going to work with your existing leaf springs and make them up to 50% stronger. Now, the main reason that someone would consider a system like this is if your truck starts to squat, bounce, sway, or maybe just generally feels less controlled when you are putting on a heavy trailer on your trailer hitch receiver or a substantial load in the bed of your truck. So, when the rear of your truck squats, that's gonna affect more than just how your truck sits. Steering can feel lighter, headlights can point upward, and the truck can become less stable through turns or over uneven roads.

So, this system is designed to reinforce the leaf springs as they're loaded and help keep the movement under control. Now, one of the interesting things about this system is that this is an active mechanical system. It uses variable-rate coil tension springs that are going to work with the factory leaf springs. As the suspension is loaded and the leaf springs try to flatten, this system is going to provide additional resistance and that's gonna help reduce that squat, body roll, sway, bouncing, axle wrap, wheel hop, and bottoming out. But it can also help keep your tires planted more consistently during acceleration and braking.

Now, if you're thinking about this, and then airbags, and comparing the two, one of the biggest differences is gonna be maintenance and adjustment. Airbags are going to give you a lot of adjustability, but you can have air pressure, but you have air pressure to manage. But with this, you set the spring tension during installation, and then you just essentially leave this alone. There's no air lines, no gauges, no compressors, or pressure checks to deal with. Installation is another selling point.

This is gonna be a bolt-on installation. It's going to fit around your factory leaf springs and U-bolt area. And then the. And so you're not going to have to worry about drilling, cutting, or welding, or anything like that. The components are built for long-term exposure underneath the truck. They're made from high-grade steel, alloy steel rather, with the epoxy E-coating. And the end brackets have a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours. A lot of our neighbors tell us that their truck feels more planted. It feels more controlled, particularly while they're towing. Reduced sway, less bouncing or that purposing, better cornering, and less rear end sag are also mentioned to us on a repeated basis. So, it's definitely gonna be something that, once you get this installed, you're going to feel the effects, especially when you start towing heavier trailers or hauling heavier loads.
