Yakima JetStream Crossbars - 50" Long - Black - Qty 2:Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Buick Envision, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System consisting of the Yakima JetStream Crossbars, 50 inches long, the SkyLine Towers for the Yakima Crossbars and, finally, the LandingPad for the Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers.Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry bike racks, cargo baskets and kayak carriers. The bars have an aerodynamic shape to them and that, coupled with the rubber strip up at the top, is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Also, after removing the end cap here, you can actually push down the rubber strip in the center and use T-track accessories in this roof rack system as well. This has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. At the end caps of our Towers here, we do have a knockout where you can replace it with Yakima Same Key System to make it keyed alike with whatever it is you're hauling. It's also very easy to use.
You simply open up the end cap, you can slide it off, and then use these caps here to hold it in place, so you don't have to remove them and they're ready for next time. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We already have our front bars installed, and we have our rear bar partially assembled on our table here. Everything that you need to install it is right here. We have our Tower, our tightening tool, the brackets that we're going to need to attach this to our bar, the two screws and flat washers for our LandingPad and the tool to tighten them down. We'll start with our Tower. We'll take our plastic piece here, which just fits in like so until you hear a click.
Then, we'll take our metal bracket which we're going to attach to this screw in the center there. Flip it upside down, take our tightening tool and we'll tighten it down until we hear it click. Now, we can attach it to our bar. Let's take our end here and slide it into the bottom portion of our track. Let's push that into place, and we'll put our end cap right there to hold everything in.Next, we'll take our rubber end here and put it on the bottom of our LandingPad.
It just pushes into place at these points here at the bottom. Now, we can go to our vehicle. We take our Pad, just start attaching our first screw, get them both finger tight. We'll take our included tightening tool, snug it down the rest of the way. It's nice and secure, then we'll take off our cover here, our cap, for our LandingPad.
Now, we're ready to grab our bar and set it in place. We'll push it into place and have it set inside the LandingPad here. Then, we'll make sure the Crossbar overhang is going to be the same on both sides. Then, we can start tightening it down. As we tighten this, it's going to tighten the Tower up to this point here. Again, you want to hear those audible clicks. Then, we'll close up our end cap and that's going to secure it to our LandingPad. We'll repeat this on the other side. Now, we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road. There you have it for the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System on our 2017 Buick Envision.

Full-length aluminum bars maximize carrying capacity.Super happy with my purchase from e trailers purchased yakima roof rack. Knowledgeable sales rep.Help me through the process on purchasing my roof rack Recommended to anyone quality parts
Works well, after getting them in place. On my Kia Sorrento it's very tricky to get the towers to fit the holes in the factory rails -- takes a lot of loosening and readjusting the bars.
For a 2015 Mazda 3, 4 door sedan.
I used the 50" jetstream bars with the skyline towers and the #22 Landing Pads.
Went together easy, great quality, very solid feeling! And, easy to remove and install when needed.
Fit our Subaru Forester perfectly. Install was a breeze.
One quick phone call and Gwendolyn figured out exactly what I needed for our new car to use my old Yakima rack.
Still look and work great after a year. Fantastic investment and they didn't reduce my fuel economy. They don't produce a lot of wind noise either.
Great bars and easy installation on my 2012 Prius C
I chose Yakima because I had one in the past and they were always reliable. Thule was my next choice but didn’t like the look of 53’ crossbars on my car. I really appreciated the easy to follow instruction that made installation a breeze. The kit came complete with everything I needed to install right out of the box. I purchased the 2 Hightower bike racks to go with the roof rack system and plan to safely secure both bikes for our trips. It was a bit heavier than I anticipated (combined with the bike carriers) which will hurt my MPG but having easy access to disassemble the bike carriers when not in use made it a no brained. Additionally, I love the look of the system on my car.
Pretty straight forward installation. Instructions were easy to follow.
The yakima jetstream crossbar looks beautiful. Quality is great. Took my vehicle for a test drive, and i didnt hear anything loose or broken from the bars. Very satisfied with the product and the instructions were great. It was my first time installing a roof rack too.
The installation was super easy, and despite a long time stuck in shipping the delivery itself was extremely fast, and the package arrived in spotless condition. The manuals were very easy to follow, and the end result is absolutely amazing. I love that there's a rubber piece in the top rail that doesn't need to be cut, which makes it a very flush and smooth fit. I also love the modularity and the weight that it can handle, especially for the stuff i plan on carrying.
Lightweight and actually quite quiet with no attachments on them. With my bike racks there is a fair amount of noise but it doesn't come from just these. Mine is on a 2011 BMW 335.
not installed yet but everything was delivered on time and in good condition
Great product. Great service.
very informative and great work
the product was exceptional. I would recommend it to anyone, who has a vehicle with a naked roof. It is a solid as a factory installed rack. Josh went out of his way to get me a replacement torque screw driver because the first one from Yakima was working properly.
Well you asked for it so;
I ordered this as part of my roof rack for a 2021 Nissan rogue. The complete roof rack set was unavailable le as one bracket was on back order and said would ship in under a month so I ordered everything else in the meantime. Little did I know it would take a over a year to get one stupid bracket and yes, I'm still waiting. I can't even return the items I bought because it's way past the 90 day policy even though they're brand new still in the box collecting dust. etrailer, this has been the worst experience I've had yet with you guys. Oh still waiting for my one bracket to complete my roof rack
Order was easy to place and delivered in less than a week as promised. The sales advice was perfect fit despite multiple pieces having been ordered. Used the rack once and very sturdy
robert s was terrific !!! excellent customer service !!! from assisting with a return, to recommending an alternative, to informing me about delivery status ...
the yakima jetstream crossbars with baseline towers were a bit more complicated to assemble and install than the brand i returned, but the wind noise and whistling are dramatically less ...
the next step is to select a cargo carrier ... it goes without saying that i will consult robert again ... thanks so much robert, and safe and happy travels to all
The rack system seems very good, but time will tell, of course. The installation is difficult and time consuming. I purchased the system needed from etrailer website with guaranteed to fit pieces. I would call myself a very experienced do-it-yourselfer. I followed directions slowly, carefully, and exactly, yet there were problems. The video for installation given for my exact order did not match the printed and actual assembly and installation directions. The baseclips that were guaranteed for my model vehicle were actually for a different model vehicle according to the enclosed sheet ... however they did work anyway but caused some "looking up" and some confusion during assembly. I was careful to assemble exactly to measurements given ... and once that is all done and tightened and "sealed up" you put them on the roof, only to find that they could have been spaced a bit wider for a perfect fit. They are fine enough and we'll see if they stay tight to the vehicle. If not will need to take it all apart and widen the spacing.
It is excellent that basically only one tool that is provided with the racks is needed. And also that each part must "click" when properly tightened. That adds reassurance and satisfaction while assembling.
There are so many models of vehicles and it is not easy to figure all this out. etrailer has a very helpful website, response, and videos to help ... but my review is to emphasize that the instructions are not perfect. One needs lots of patience, common sense, and perhaps re-assembly for a perfect outcome.
These bars are outstanding. They were purchased for a Jeep grand cherokee '18. I had previously purchased from another brand, but the whistle noise was constant and very noticeable. These are completely quiet, I am glad I changed to the yakima bars. Installation was also much easier, and more "flush" mounting with the yakima brand. Glad to do business with etrailer!
The Yakima roof rack system for my 2019 CX9 with flush mounted rails worked out great, and etrailer customer service was excellent. My first choice was to purchase the Thule system but after digging deeper, I realized that the Yakima was much easier to install. Changing my mind to Yakima was very easy even though the Thule system was almost ready to ship. One suggestion that I think will help with the installation. Add some blue masking tape to the backside of the inner ridge fit clip to temporarily hold it in place. Once secured, the tape can be removed.
Relatively easy to install on my VW Golf (etrailer videos are very helpful) and sooooo useful with my Yakima skybox. Not much road noise, so I can leave the rack on even when I am not using it.
