Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2017 Buick Envision

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Buick Envision, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System consisting of the Yakima JetStream Crossbars, 50 inches long, the SkyLine Towers for the Yakima Crossbars and, finally, the LandingPad for the Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers.Yakima JetStream Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry bike racks, cargo baskets and kayak carriers. The bars have an aerodynamic shape to them and that, coupled with the rubber strip up at the top, is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Also, after removing the end cap here, you can actually push down the rubber strip in the center and use T-track accessories in this roof rack system as well.This has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. At the end caps of our Towers here, we do have a knockout where you can replace it with Yakima Same Key System to make it keyed alike with whatever it is you're hauling. It's also very easy to use.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Buick Envision we're gonna be test fitting the Yakima CoreBar roof rack system consisting of the Yakima CoreBar Cross Bars, 50 inches long, the Yakima Skyline Tower for the Yakima cross bar to the fixed mounting points, the landing pad for the Yakima Skyline and control towers for your roof rack system. Yakima CoreBar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle and we can carry accessories such as bike racks, cargo baskets, and kayak carries as well. The roof rack system is very easy to install since you don't have to worry about any cross bar spread measurements because of the fixed mounts where they go into. The bars themselves are very sturdy and have an aerodynamic shape to them, which will cut down wind noise and drag while you drive and the both bars combined have a carrying capacity of 220 pounds, but you always wan to check with your vehicles manual to make sure it can withstand those weights.At the end caps of our towers we do have these plastic knock outs which you can replace with the Yakima same key system so you make everything key to like such as the big items you're gonna be putting on top of your roof. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We have our front bar already installed and we have our rear bar partially assembled on our table here with our tower and our clamping kit and also we have the rest of our parts laid out here.



Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2017 Buick Envision

We're going to be test fitting Yakima round bar roof rack system, consisting of the round cross bars for the roof rack system, the sky line towers for the Yakima cross bars, the adapter kit to have round bars fit onto the skyline towers, and finally the landing pads which attaches to your pre-existing points on your flush side mounts.The Yakima round bar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, or freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, and kayak carriers. The bars have a combined carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual, to make sure your roof can handle those weights. These do mount to fixed points, so you don't have to worry about measuring out for cross bar spreads. And once you remove the bars themselves, they do come with end caps so you don't have to remove the landing pads and they're ready for your use next time.At the ends of each of our towers, we do have these removable caps which you can replace with the Yakima same key system.

Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Buick Envision

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Buick Envision we're going to be test fitting the Thule Circuit XT Roof Top Bike Rack, part number TH526XT. We already have our bike installed on the rack, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack we're not going to have any frame contact at all. Instead it's going to grip it by rear tire here with this strap and cradle, which is adjustable along the bike to accommodate bikes different sizes.Up towards the front here we'll have our skewer mount, which is going to grip your bike by the forks. This skewer mount is lockable by removing this plastic piece on the end here and replacing it with a Thule lock core. So not only will your bike be secure to the rack, the rack itself will be secured to the roof rack, as it can't be removed without completely removing the skewer as well.With everything installed as it is unfortunately we're not going to be able to open up our hatch all the way.



Rhino Rack Road-Warrior Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Buick Envision

At the front we also have this skewer mount which is going to grip your bike by the forks. At the end of our skewer mount, we do have a lock, so your bike is going to be secured to the rack, and at the top we also have a lock, so your bike rack is secured to your roof rack as well.With everything installed, unfortunately, we're not going to be able to open up our hatch all the way, because it will make contact with the end of our bike rack here. But you still have plenty of space to get whatever you need inside your hatch.Let's go and take the bike off and set it aside.

We already have the bike installed on are rack, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.How this actually attaches to the bike rack, we're not going to have any frame contact at all. Instead, we're going to have this rear wheel strap, which is adjustable in length for the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes. And then up at the front, right now we have our skewer mount attached, which is going to grip your bike by the fork mounts. This will also work with 12- and 15-mm thru-axles as well as bikes with disc brakes.With everything installed right now, we are going to have an issue of clearance, unfortunately, with our rear hatch here. As you lift it up, it's going to make contact right around this area here.

We already have our biked installed on the rack, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.How the bike is attached to the rack, we're not gonna have any frame contact at all. Instead, we'll have it held in place by this rear wheel strap here, which is adjustable along the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes, then up at the front we'll have the skewer mount, which will grip your bike by its fork mounts. Now this is lockable and you can replace it with a lock core here to secure your bike to the bike rack, and it's also lockable up at the top side here to secure your bike rack to the roof rack as well.With everything installed as it is, unfortunately, we're not going to be able to open up our rear hatch all the way. As you can see, it's gonna make contact right around this area here, although there is plenty of space to get some of the things you need with it open this much.Let's go and take our bike off and set it aside. We'll start by pushing up the top tab here at the rear, release the strap and then holding onto the bike, we'll release our skewer mount here and loosen that up.

Instead it's going to grip it by this wheel strap here at the rear, which is adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Then we'll also have this wheel mount up at the front.Now, unlike most bike racks where you will have to remove your front tire so you can put it into a skewer mount, this leaves everything together.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Buick Envision, we're going to test fitting the Yakima HighSpeed Rooftop Bike Rack, part number Y02115.We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take at closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to rack, we're not going to have any frame contact at all. Instead we'll have this rear wheel strap, here, which is adjustable the length of the bike rack and that's going to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Up towards the front we have our included 9 millimeter skewer installed which is going to grip your bike by its fork mounts, here. This will also work with 12, 15 and 20 millimeter through axles and we have this TorqueRight knob on the other side here which is holding our skewer in place and this is to prevent you from over or under tightening it to the rack.With everything installed as it is, unfortunately, we can't open our hatch all the way as it will make contact with our bike rack right about there. I don't want to go too far 'cause I don't want to scratch that.
