This 2-piece vent provides an inexpensive yet attractive way to ventilate your enclosed trailer. Round interior vent and half-moon-shape exterior piece are both constructed of white, UV-resistant polypropylene plastic that holds up to sun exposure.Easily and effortlessly installed. They are made of nylon or flexible plastic I believe. White, powder coated aluminum would have been better but after a few hours of searching these were the nicest looking and the best price.
These vents were exactly what I needed and was looking for to install on my home built steel frame aluminum skinned motorcycle trailer to create a positive continues in and out air flow to vent summer inside heat and fuel fumes out of the trailer that does vent from the m/c gas tank.
I installed a total of four vents, two up front, one on each side high near the roof facing forward to force air in when the trailer is in motion and two on each side at the lower rear facing aft (rearward) to exhaust which will create a vacuum effect as the trailer is moving forward.
Installation and painting was done pretty much the same way mentioned by a previous review made by Ray H. on 5/24 .
I will add this helpful hint to make your multiple vent install go quick and accurate. If you first make a installation jig out of a piece of scrap 1/2 to 3/4 inch plywood large enough to trace the outside vent screw holes onto, but first drill the 3" hole with a hole-saw then slide the inside round vent tube through the plywood then fit the outside vent onto the inside thru tube collar now you can trace exactly where you need to drill the outside vent screw holes and everything will be aligned for a correct fit when you drill through your trailer wall. Now all you do is drill and secure with screws this plywood jig temporarily onto your trailer and drill all your holes and the plywood jig will insure your hole saw doesn't wobble or elongate it's pilot hole either.
Last but not least, let me say that the entire staff at E-Trailer are the best regarding fast courteous and follow up service even after your order has been processed whether you order on-line or by telephone and you will become a repeat customer like myself for all your trailer needs but never for the same thing twice unless it's for another project..(:
I'm including some pic's showing the partial to the finished vent installation but sorry I did not take a picture of the plywood jig.

Without thinking there is a photo of the plywood jig, its shown in pic number two where it also doubled for the inside backing for the outside vent screws to attach and give more bite for the screws to hold on to rather then just the thin wall aluminum skin, i just made one extra to use as a continuous pattern jig so the inside vent grill will fit exactly into the outside collar every time.

Its been more then a year, I believe I had bought and installed those vents during the summer of 2013, and now to report all is still good with these items like the day they were installed, of course right now the trailer is covered tent style and sitting outside in the cold of winter here in upstate, NY.

Hey have you noticed if any rain gets in at all when theres strong wind? I have a e150 cargo van I use as a conversion and need vents, seriously thinking about these, but gotta be sure about the rain issue

Hello Mark,There is a drain hole at the bottom of these vents to allow water to drain out if and when you are trailering in the rain, so wind driven rain when parked is not a problem.Walt
Hi Carol, I bought a lot of things from etrailer, I'm looking for two rear doors for my trailer, do you sell doors for a 24x60 triailer, or where can I find them?
thanks

We dont carry doors at this time, but a trailer dealership or parts store should have what you need.
Installed two of these in the side wall of a pop-up trailer converted to carry large gasoline-powered radio controlled model aircraft and a small electrical generator. The wall thick ness was over the length of the inner vent part, so I sliced off a ring from the inner vent and used a 2" pvc pipe coupler with a relief gap sliced out to enable it to fit inside the inner vent and the sliced ring. A circle of metal screen was attatched to the inside of the inner vent with hot glue, then the pipe coupling was inserted and attached with countersunk flat head screws. This assembly was fitted into the 3" hole cut in both inner and outer walls. The coupling was marked 1/4" outside the outer wall and trimmed. The sliced ring was then attached to the coupler with countersunk flat head screws. This assembly was attached to the inner wall with screws and sealed with RTV. The outer vent then had a bead of RTV applied to the inner lip, and attached to the outer wall with screws. One vent assembly was installe high facing forward and the other was installed low facing to the rear. These will serve to vent any gasoline fumes from the interior of the trailer.
Finally got a break in the weather to install my Redline WHMAV2-WAVT2 Wall Vents. They were a breeze to install. The price was very competitive, and I enjoyed the rapid delivery. As I upgrade my Cargo Mate, I’ll be relying on eTrailer.com for all of the needed parts.
By the way, I painted the outer covers with Rust-oleum Metallic Charcoal to match the trailer skin color. For the Rust-oleum to adhere, the polypropylene vent has to first be lightly wet sanded with 400 grit sandpaper and thoroughly rinsed. Then a couple of light coats of Krylon Fusion for plastic was applied. This gives a solid base coat for the Rust-oleum to bond to.
Even thou the trailer we have has a roof vent, I wanted to be sure air was moving when you strap a motorcycle down the gas tank vents into the atmosphere when its been jostled around. These were easier to install then I thought. all pieces were with the order arrived quickly. I would recommend

The vents installed easily with the help of a 3” hole saw. I wish the inside pieces were a little longer to help with the alignment of the outside pieces. That would depend on the distance between your inside and outside walls. I had a roof vent but these will allow good air flow keeping the trailer fro getting too hot inside.
easy installation
my only complaint with this one is that the round vent did not have adequate depth to reach all the way through the trailer wall. it leaves a gap that dust and bugs can get into the trailer wall.
I needed replacements that would fit the same area. The new ones are a perfect fit. They seem to be of very good quality. Very happy with my purchase.
Installed these on my new enclosed trailer that will be used for landscape equipment. Put one on the driver's side high and the other low on the opposite side. etrailer was very fast on shipping my order.
The product was covered with dirty human finger prints. Either the packer was the cause or someone at that warehouse handled it and the packer thought nothing of it. Not the end of the world but I had to clean it and at some point paint it with Krylon plastic paint.
The part itself was otherwise in good condition and suitable for it's purpose.
they actually sent me a used one.

I am so sorry about that Richard. Customer Service will fix this issue for you.
Ordered 2 sets of half moon vents. Installed in 15 mins on enclosed trailer to help keep mold.from growing. Easy peasy! Fast shipping and cost was more than reasonable.
Great product a exact replacement for the old ones that came on trailer.
What a great product. They let air in and not the elements. I used them on my fish house to let more air in for the vent free heater. I received them shortly after I ordered. Thanks for the good service.
Glad I found etrailer I had been wanting to add venting to my toy hauler for a long time. Fumes from the bikes would be strong in the living area. Not good for people and safety. Installed one vent high and one low to create a natural draft. The 3" hole is just anough for the small garage space in my toy hauler. It took about 30 minutes to install two. Also added two in my car hauler. Used some lath screws and Goop to seal exterior cover. It looks just like the factory vents. This product does what I wanted and at a reasonible price.

I am still very pleased with the vents I installed last year. There is no sign of weathering at all. My car hauler has old cars or tractors in it at all times. The ventilation lets the fumes out and makes it safer when I use electric tools inside. I am looking for a similar vent that can be closed during very cold temps. Etrailer has all the good stuff, so I am power shopping today. I am sure they have something I need. Thanks Bullet Bob
The trailer door hinges and latch system have been on my custom trailer for well over a year and a half. They function great and still look like new. Great products and would certainly buy them again. Also the shipment and correctness of the order was perfect. My follow up orders of several accessories were also handled in a totally professional way and the products were equally high quality.

The hinges and latch are working fine. The trailer is used regularly and the parts show now fatigue and I would recommend them.
These vents appear to be very good quality. Especially for the price. Installation looks to be straightforward. I'm impressed with etrailer's packaging, shipping, and communication.

These vents have worked very well. Theyve been through heavy rain with no leaks.
Exactly what I needed, no frills, no no nsense!
These vents are of good quality and have held up for the year they have been on my trailer- however they do not move air as well as I thought they would. We adapted an enclosed cargo trailer to be used with live animal transport with 4 of these, and a roof vent. Its not quite enough for hot days. We will be looking into installing another larger side vent to move more air.
I purchased this vent to install in the walls of my storage shed.....two near the top and two near the bottom....on opposing sides. I did this to reduce summer heat in the shed by creating interior air movement from bottom to the top of the shed. The vents were spray painted to blend in with the exterior color of the shed, mounted with SS screws, and SS screen material was installed in the vent hole so as to form an insect barrier. There is now a significant reduction of heat in my shed during summer months. This is the only vent I could find that I felt would be both functional and aesthetically pleasing to look at. I am very satisfied with the final product….would purchase again.
Vent is exactly what I'd hoped for except for one minor issue; the inside vented piece tube is just a bit too long. My application is on a thin (about 1/8" thick) fiberglass trailer wall and when the inner piece is pressed up against the outer one (to seat it against the inside face of the cover), it is about 1/16" too long for the screw face to be on the same plane as the screw face of the outer piece. If I put a strip of butyl caulk under the screw holes on the inner piece, I'll have to put 2 layers under the outer piece holes to keep from deforming the outer piece when I tighten up the screws. Also, the excess caulk is not very "pretty" since my trailer side and the vent are white and the caulk is very dark. I can use a file to trim the inner tube but it should be made flush to start with. Other than that, it looks like it will be a very good vent for my use! (vent for refrigerator bay inside my cabinets)
It was a easy install. Inside just cut a 3" hole. Rivet the 3/16.
Outside, used synthetic caulk to seal and also rivet.
