How Does the Half Moon Vent # WHMAV2-WAVT2 Install

Question:

I read the instructions about the vent but does one cut a 3 inch hole in the exterior piece to match the interior piece?

The vent uses a 3 inch diameter hole in the trailer. The half moon portion is flush mounted to the outside of the trailer. It is not necessary to cut any holes in the vent. The interior trim piece is deep enough that it will pass through the trailer wall and mate up with the raised circular portion of the outside half-moon portion.

The part is also available in black, as part # HMAV2-AVT2. I have edited a photo of this vent in black so that you can more easily see how the vent goes together.
