Built-In Rain Shield

MaxxFan Deluxe Rain Shield

The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.

The white dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Reversible, Variable-Speed Fan with Thermostat

MaxxFan Deluxe Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan has 2 modes of operation: manual and auto. When the fan is in manual mode, you can choose from 10 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed. Auto mode works in conjunction with the fan's thermostat.

To enter auto mode, press the auto mode button on either the remote control or keypad. Once the fan is in auto mode, the thermostat is activated with a set temperature of 78 degrees F. Pressing the arrow keys on either the remote or keypad changes the set temperature in 1 degree increments. When the thermostat is set, it senses the room temperature and automatically turns the fan on if it is above the set temperature. The fan shuts off when the set temperature has been reached. If the room temperature rises, the fan turns on again. This keeps your RV cool and comfortable and saves you from having to adjust the fan by hand. The auto mode also saves energy by running the fan no more than necessary, especially while you're away or asleep.

This fan is reversible, which means you are able to both exhaust stale air out of your RV and bring fresh air in from the outside. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Remote Control and Keypad

Remote for MaxxFan Plus

The remote control has a built-in LCD screen so that it's easy to see the current settings. The remote enables you to operate the vent and fan from afar, including opening or closing the dome and turning the fan on or off. With the remote, you can also control the fan speed, the direction of the airflow, and the set temperature for the thermostat.

The remote comes with a cradle, which mounts to the wall. When it's not in use, the remote can be stored in the cradle. Hardware and 2 AAA batteries are included. The low-battery indicator located on the top-center area of the screen lets you know when it's time to change the batteries.

Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe

Like the remote control, the flush-mounted keypad on the vent allows you to operate the vent, the fan, and the thermostat.

Powered-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Deluxe Open

This powered-lift vent opens and closes automatically, which means no hand cranking is needed. And unlike a vent that has only 1 arm, this dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will stay open during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome if your RV loses power.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Deluxe Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

This Exceeded our expectations; we didn't know that this would have such an impact on how much air was moved by this vent fan. I was in, then out of the "Doghouse" for the cost of this (the wife did her own research after I had) and then the wait; the unit this replaced was leaking water as it rained outside. Within a week of ordering this it was delivered, and the following day I got it installed. Installation directions were very simple to understand/follow; the hard part was removing the old vent fan and caulk. Another "Bonus" was how quite this is compared to the original.

After a year of using this fan, we are just as pleased with it as we were when we got it. Im not able to say anything about the Rain Sensor, even though we are located in SW Washington, because we dont leave the vent open 247. The remote was the perfect solution for my wifes height challenge 48 to be able to use this, mounted the holder just inside the door on the wall.

@David That's great, we're glad it's working well for you!

by:

etailer's selection and service were great. I specifically wanted the fan with the white cover, which not every vendor stocked, and we wanted the fan delivered quickly, so I was willing to pay a bit of a premium to get both. I received excellent support from Ashley throughout the ordering and shipping process. I needed to make some last-minute changes to my shipping request, which were quickly arranged, and I received the fan the next day!

by:

Excellent fan. Correction to the etrailer description. The lid can be opened and left open without the fan running, either with the remote control, a wired wall control or by the manual knob on the fan. It can be partially to fully opened by using the manual knob. The optional wired wall control works great for those who can't reach the ceiling control panel on the fan. I have 4 of the 07000K fans in 2 campers, all with wireless remotes and wired wall mount control panels.

We just received and installed these Maxxair Deluxe fans and absolutely love them. We installed these ourselves and couldn’t be happier. Our reason for ordering these fans was simply so we could have the remote and ceiling fan option. Our previous fans did not have a switch, we are too short to reach them and a step stool is a pain. The install went well and was more time consuming than anything. Otherwise not a challenge at all. The reason for the 4-star vs the 5-star is nothing on etrailer’s part but on the fan itself. We went with white vs smoke in hopes to let more light into the coach but they in fact let in less light than if we were to go with smoke. And also the white fans cast a pinky-orangey hue which isn’t necessarily a deal breaker but would’ve been nice to know ahead of time because we would’ve ordered smoke. Other than that the fans are phenomenal. etrailer, as always, is on top of the game and got these out to us fast and customer service rocks as always!!

I love the Maxx Fan. Quiet and button open and exhaust with remote it is so convenient.

by:

Replaced a lesser model MaxxAir with this one. Installation was not too bad. A few minor comments for 'improvement'. The cable connectors could be one size larger to accommodate the existing wiring. The instructions didn't really say how 'difficult' it is to get the fan on the flange (makes sense to seal the gasket, just concerned about 'pushing down' too hard). Other than that, very satisfied. Will see how it performs in the rain later this week.

by:

Fit perfectly into existing vent. Ran wiring up behind refrigerator. Can be set to run either on thermostat or manually. Really nice rain good. Now I can keep my camper vented by moving the hot air out in between trips and blow cool air in at night to sleep without all the noise from the air conditioner fan. Very pleased.

by:

This was scary to install, but we followed the instructions carefully, and it works great! It is quiet and moves air in or out of our Transit Connect van very well. I'm very pleased we bought this unit.

We marked and taped off the opening on the van roof, drilled the corners, then used a jigsaw with a metal blade to cut it out. We taped a garbage back underneath to catch metal shavings.

The butyl sealant made a water-tight fit, and self-leveling caulk provided the final weatherproof seal. We added plywood on the inside of the roof to provide support, which was a good idea. Overall we love the fan!

One year later literally two weeks after the warranty expired we discovered that the vent was leaking. The cause was that the lid was cracked, from where the closing assembly pulled it shut. Apparently this is a very common problem with this fan, I see a lot of people complaining online of the same thing. I bought a replacement lid over $100 and installed it. The fan now has loud wind noise while driving, and rattles when going over bumps, because the fasteners that hold it in place are bent and loose. Considering the purchase price of the fan, I am wholly unimpressed with its longevity.

by:

Absolutely love this vent, very easy to install and the lowest 3 settings, you cant hear the vent. Exactly what my vintage trailer needed

by:

First purchase from etrailer was concerned as it was a pricey item for me. They outperformed themselves! Items shipped on time, I was kept aware of tracking and item arrived 1 day ahead of schedule. Good selection of products, reasonable prices, excellent service and follow up. etrailer gets 5 stars from me!

by:

Remote control is so awesome
Since we
are of shorter stature, acts as a whole trailer fan

by:

What a terrific upgrade this was to the original fan. The videos on the etrailer product page made this an easy job. The fan is amazingly quiet yet it moves a massive amount of air.

by:

This is probably my favorite purchase. It pulls all the moisture out quickly and the heat. Blowing in helps to dry damp towels. Remote works great as I was never able to reach the other fan to even turn it on. I no longer have to wait for some one to help me.

by:

I have had several of these fans in my current and pervious RV's. Their are great. They move air quietly and smoothly. This lets us not run the air conditioner except in the most extreme times and pull out odors quickly. Would never own an RV without.

2. Star review
I had this fan installed
during a re-roofing on my 5th wheel in April 2019. I am happy with the performance and the remote makes it very easy to operate. The unit sat for 19 months during COVID lockdown and border closure. I now notice that 3 of the 4 motor support arms are cracked. A replacement vent frame, part # 10-21217K would fix my problem. Unfortunately this part is no longer, or never was, available. According to the manufacturer, Airxcel, my only option is to replace the whole unit. Without knowing why this one cracked, I am reluctant to invest in another one. I can't believe I am the only one that has experienced this and there has to be a reason why the replacement part is not available. Buyer beware, if yours cracks there is no repair option. That's why I give this product 2 stars.

by:

Fantastic product moves air as should not loud either. all the thanks to e-trailer and there informative videos. Return customer indeed

by:

Arrived way too fast for one thing! For another, it’s exactly what I ordered. Finally, the price was fair.
Have conducted business with etrailer many times.
I now always trust etrailer.
Not always the best price but etrailer always stocks and delivers.

by:

A little noisy when it opens and closes, but otherwise a great upgrade!

by:

MaxAir fan delivery was done as expected. I have not installed it yet but should be able to review this item later on. From all the research I've done the MaxAir line has great reviews.

by:

am more than pleased with this fan works great for both intake and exhaust fan love the rain guard.

by:

When they work, they do really well. Mine started squeaking loudly, so it has been returned. The designers of this model were kind enough to install a super bright green LED that shines when in auto mode, which is where most people will use it. You cannot shut off the LED unless you take it out of auto mode. If you like waking up to a green light, as in an alien spacecraft coming to pick you up for a free ride, then this is the fan for you. Otherwise, shop around because that light is really really bright! If it wasn't for the beacon that you cannot shut off, this would be a five-star review of a fan.

by:

Awesome product. Super quick shipping.

by:

MaxxFan arrived promptly and in good condition. Will be installing today. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Great replacement, 1 hour install and works great.High quality.

by:

Great value!! Excellent fan, it was so easy to install and it works amazingly!! I would order this product again (hopefully I won't need to but if I do this is the one I would choose.)and I would definitely order from etrailer again!!! Super fast shipping as well!!!

  • Can You Install an RV Air Conditioner On a Van
The issues you'll run into installing an RV air conditioner in a van are BTU rating and roof thickness. The RV air conditioners are designed to cool much larger spaces so installing one in a much smaller space would often freeze you out. The roof thickness in a van is also much less than the roof thickness in an RV so you will need to find a way to add additional backing to make the unit compatible. The smallest units we offer are 13,500 BTU's like the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner part...
