As for the anti-rattle hitch collar, it's great. But, because this specific item was back ordered for a long time, which when ordered it shows in stock.
Customer Service was very helpful and actually shipped the collar earlier than was projected. I've good luck with etrailer's products.

Its still working great with my trailers not having that awful receiver rattle. I have two neighbors that liked my hitch collar so much that they ordered their own.

Very well made and looks good on the truck. I like that you put it on once and it stays on with or without the hitch tongue installed.

Glad you like it, Richard! We are pretty proud of this part and we have been hearing good things since it was released. I hope it continues to serve you well! ^___^ What are you using it to stabilize?

by:

These things are awesome and leagues above to typical bolt-on flange types, which are annoying to remove and reattach. I recently took at trip with these and did some Cat 4+ wheeling over some rocky terrain replete with mud and pot holes. I have two on both front and rear hitches. One carries a large hitch basket and the other a HitchFire swing arm cargo table with gear. While the camper in my bed got tossed up a bit, both hitches remained secure and rigid. Very impressed. Build quality is excellent, easy to install and change out implements. They feel solid and sturdy, will likely last a lifetime.

working great. Needs retightening from time to time, but not a big deal

by:

This review would be a 5 if the clamp screw didn't back out after tightening, during towing, but like every hitch anti-rattle device I've tried, the vibration of towing loosens everything up. Granted, I'm not towing a bike rack. I'm actually towing a 4500 lb. trailer behind a big car with an anti-sway hitch. (Which I bought from etrailer.) Unlike the U clamp anti-rattle collars, this device actually completely silenced hitch rattling. But I don't understand why the screw adjuster doesn't have a method of locking after you've clamped the hitch down, so it doesn't back out.

by:

The product does what it’s supposed to do. One major issue though, rust. This will be a problem long term. My truck isn’t even parked outside and these are the bolts after one year. They need to add some stainless steel components.

by:

Does not fit Toyota Tundra or Sequoia receivers. I had high hopes for the unit but it is now just a paperweight. I own two tundras a sequoia and can’t use it on any of my vehicles. I wanted to replace the GenY anti-rattle device (the does fit the factory hitch) with a tool free unit to make flipping or removing the RapidHitch simple and quick.

by:

Towing a Jeep 4-Door Wrangler this collar was very convenient to install and use. It appeared to work well for anti-rattle control and was easy to install and uninstall the trailer hitch.

by:

These anti rattle hitch collars are fantastic for stabilizing the hitch ball assembly or bike rack that’s plugged into your receiver hitch. No more wobbling and no annoying banging noises from bumps or turns.highly recommend this item.

by:

It’s exactly what you want it to be. Works great on my 2019 F-150. Went on in seconds and locks down my B&W stow ‘n go.

On year update: My anti-rattle collar still works great. Once in while, I reach down and snug up the knob - sometimes its tight and sometimes it takes a partial turn. Best thing - no rattles since!

by:

It's great so far, got rid of the clunking from my hitch. It is a pretty close fit on my Ram 3500 with the B&W hitch on the closest hole, but it does fit. I did have to grind out a relief on the back side of the hitch for the knob to clear, but it works. The Rock Tamer fits if you use the second hitch hole and it doesn't bounce around with no load on the hitch anymore. Overall, I'm very happy with the product so far, way better than the other hitch silencers I've purchased in the past.

by:

This made a huge difference in trailering our boat. Boat and trailer weigh about 7200 lbs and would not only make a lot of rattling noise, but also jerk my chevy 1500 around when starting and stopping or over bumps. This plate reduced all of that by 80-90% (it's a 2 pcs hitch, other part still has a little play, but nothing like the receiver slop), making towing much more comfortable. My hitch came with a collar for this, but it had a u-bolt and required tools and some time to remove if I wanted to take the hitch off.

I'm so happy to hear it made such a difference! The hitch collar tightens down to apply pressure from all sides instead of just one, so it's very efficient at reducing play in the hitch.

by:

I finally had the chance to evaluate this anti-rattle hitch collar. It has been installed on my truck for a while but I've had no need to haul anything until recently. After installing my hitch hauler and loading it with my snow thrower, I set out to drive a few miles to clear snow for my family. I immediately realized I had forgotten to tighten the collar, so I was able to see how much the hitch hauler rocked around without the collar restraining it. At my first stop, I tightened the collar and then compared the movement of the hitch hauler on the next leg of my trip. There was a noticeable decrease in the amount of unwanted movement of the hitch hauler and my load. There still was a little movement, but it definitely wasn't as much as when the collar was not clamped down. I'm happy with the performance.

by:

The easiest and best anti-rattle hitch collar I've found. I ordered two of these when etrailer posted them. I can swap out my regular hitch and my weight distribution hitch in less than two minutes. No more wrenches or wratchets needed.

My only disappointment is that it will not work on my 2023 Ford Bronco with the factory hitch and steel bumper. The gap between the hitch and bumper is too close and leaves no room for ANY anti-rattle device. Get on this etrailer, we depend on you!

After a year still the best money ever spent on an anti-rattle hitch collar. I’ve tried a lot of anti-rattle devices even some homemade rigs over the years and none of them have worked as well as the etrailer collar.

by:

It fits perfect on my Mercedes V-Class and it works well (together with the Yakima exo System). No noise from the hitch. A well made product! Thank you etrailer!

by:

Using this on my 5th wheel trailer to help stabilize a (3) E-bike carrier. A two hour drive from our home down to San Diego and my bike carrier was rock solid. So far two thumbs up.

etrailer anti-rattle for the win =) Wow Robert, that is quite the nice set-up you have! What adventure are you looking most forward to this year?

by:

This product is incredible. It’s everything you would want it to be, solid, well-built, and looks incredible. It works exactly as you would expect, I put it on my Suburban and havne’t heard my hitch make a peep since. I bought another one for my gold cart trailer where I mounted a receiver hitch on the floor (with some C-channel underneath to strengthen the wood) and I can put my ATV receiver hitch tray to go on the gold cart, and put one of these anti-rattle collars on that receiver too. Then, I put an anti-receiver collar on my Evolution D5 Maverick golf cart receiver hitch so when the tray is in, it is peaceful and motionless. This thing is amazing. I feel like I should be on the Anti-Ratle Hitch Collar marketing team but honestly, this thing is legit. Already brought 3 of them if that helps seal the deal if you have read this far…. Took pics of Sub, annd cart, trailer isn’t ant house. Also have to give shout out to etrailer team who are really good at communications. 5 stars for sure.

by:

Immediately after purchase I wish they had made one for the hitches on a Honda CRV. This device has been absolutely wonderful to remove all that annoying rattling noise that you would constantly hear from the hitch. I have it installed on a 2006 chevrolet 2500 duramax. This vehicle has never been garage kept a d for the last year the etrailer Anti rattle has been outdoors expose to the elements. The adjustment know, shown in one of the photos, still turns as if it were new.

I would purchase it again in a heartbeat. Great product!!

by:

Works as advertised, eliminating an annoying hitch rattle in an otherwise quiet truck. Works with B&W's Tow & Stow as pictured, I just had to use the alternate sideways installation. Mind which way the tensioner is oriented when installing sideways (it needs to be on top).

I found out that you have to keep a eye on the mounting screws, they come loose and I lost the anti-Rattle

by:

The product was great, and replaced my old anti-rattle bracket that would required a lot more work to install the hitch, however the installation of the e38FV was not easy. On my 2024 Toyota Tundra after adjusting the rotating handle to the right pressure with the bouncy of he ride the handle would get loose and the rattle would start. I was able to fix this problem by installing the bracket 90* to the left and placing a rod on the top horizontally in orrder to stop the handle from rotating. Would be great if you could have a stop mecanismo to avoit the handle from rotating in transit.

Glad it's working well for you, John! I will pass your feedback on to our product development team as well. Having a stop for the wingnut is definitely a good idea! What are you typically towing?

by:

This is one of the best designs I have seen yet. I have previously tried 3 different anti-rattle devices and this is the first one that stays in place and works! I give 5 Stars, but with one caveat. I had to modify (grind off material) the Toe collars on the back. I have a 2022 Toyota Tundra and the weld bead around the 2" receiver collar required more clearance. Whether Toyota, Chevy, or Reece aftermarket hitch, weld bead variance is likely a common issue. Since the Toe Collars on this design are removable and it was easy to grind off the material with a simple belt sander.(See my photos for details). After installation my hitch is rock solid - NO RATTLE!

by:

The build quality is excellent. Also very easy to use. I have not had the chance to go on a trip as of yet, so I cant' tell of the unit will keep the shaft in place for extended periods. But based on what I have seen I am hopeful. The unit is installed on a 2021 Ford Ranger.

As noted earlier, Ive had this product for about a year. During that time, the device has performed exactly as I expected, eliminating any rattle from the receiver. My only disappointment is that the set screws securing the unit have already started to rust and will need replacement. Overall, in terms of performance and meeting expectations, it has done just as I hoped.

It seems to work well. Had to use the alternative installation with the tightening knob at the top right rather than at the bottom. After installation, the hitch is solid and does not rattle. One negative is the pin is tighter and harder to get through. I had to hammer the pin in so I could get the lock on it

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for 2022 Keystone Springdale Mini 1750RD
Hey Michelle! There are definitely a lot of different weight distribution hitch (WDH) options out there. The most important thing is to make sure it is properly rated for the tongue weight of your setup. Looking at the specs for the 2022 Keystone Springdale Mini 1750RD it has a dry (unloaded) tongue weight of 520 lbs and a GVWR of 4,400 lbs. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight so at the high end, fully loaded, you're going to be around 660 lbs. For occasional,...

  • Does The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar e38FV Work For A 2-1/2" Hitch Receiver?
Hello Gary, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV is only for a 2" receiver. It will not work with the 2-1/2" hitches. We do hope to make a version for a 2-1/2" hitch in the future, but that is a good ways down the line. If you need an anti-rattle device for a 2-1/2" hitch we do have the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062 or the Blue Ox Immobilizer # BX88225. Both are U-bolt style ant-rattle clamps. just comment below and let me know if you have any questions...

Hey Randy! The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar item # e38FV does not come in 2-1/2" but I can still make your F-350 happy. A comparable option for a 2-1/2" receiver is the B&W Anti-Rattle Clamp item # BW65FR. This also connects to the lip on the outside of your hitch and tightens down to keep your ball mount from moving around. I have linked an installation video below so you can see how to get this clamp set up.

Hey Mark! You can definitely leave the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV installed on your receiver. That is one of the best parts about it, it can stay on the hitch so its always ready to go. The knob doesn't have to be tightened down, that metal collar that hangs down around it will keep it from falling off. Are you using the anti-rattle for towing or accessories like a bike rack/cargo carrier?

  • Will etrailer Anti-Rattle Device Fit 2020 Toyota Tundra
Hey Blake, we had a customer with a very similar 2020 Toyota Tundra to your 2024 model who let us know that the etrailer anti-rattle part # e38FV fit and worked great for them. See attached picture. We haven't had someone with the Gen-Y # GY88XR come back and let us know if it worked for them yet. I don't see why it wouldn't though.

  • Can The etrailer e38FV Anti-Rattle Collar Be Used With A Weight Distribution Hitch?
Hey Dave, welcome back! Yes, the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV is a great choice for your bike rack. It works with virtually any standard ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory and does an excellent job of taking the rattle and chucking out of the receiver, so it's a great fit for that part of your setup. Where it changes is with your weight distribution hitch. The # e38FV is not designed for use with a WD hitch because of the additional forces those systems put on the receiver....

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 450 lbs - 500 lbs Tongue Weight
Hey Randy, welcome back and congrats on the new truck. For a 450 lbs - 500 lbs tongue weight, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ90-00-0600. This system will let you back up with it installed and won't limit your turning radius. The Equal-i-zer item # EQ90-00-0600 works with tongue weights ranging from 200 lbs - 600 lbs so you'll be good if you weren't fully loaded or wanted to pack your trailer up differently. The sway control brackets...

  • Hitch Extender for Clearing Spare With Bike Rack on 2024 Land Rover Defender
Hey Azmi! You can use a hitch extender to clear that spare on your Land Rover Defender. However, you have to keep in mind it will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50%. As long as your bikes and bike rack don't exceed half the tongue weight capacity of your hitch you're set. It doesn't have to be anything fancy so I recommend the RockyMounts Hitch Extender # RKY10008. This is an 8" extension that also includes a locking hitch pin to keep it secure. I also recommend adding the etrailer...

  • Can The etrailer Anti Rattle Device e38FV Be Used On A 2026 Honda Pilot OEM Hitch?
Hi Irwin! The etrailer anti-rattle device # e38FV outside edge measures 3-7/8" H x 4-1/2" L x 5/8" W. Little surprised we don't have any picture of this installed with safety chains hooked up (I will see about getting that added to the page, it would be good to see), but I don't see any way for safety chains to knock it off. This will install from the bottom of the hitch receiver, so safety chains would technically pull this up if they were ever engaged in a disconnection event. The attachment...
