Trailer Hitch and Suspension Enhancement for 2026 Toyota Sienna With VelociRAX Vertical Bike Rack

Updated 04/14/2026 | Published 04/05/2026

Question:

We purchased a 2026 sienna. We are looking on adding a tow hitch and a vertical bike rack such as th velocirax 6max. I believe the reason some hitches say they are not good for vertical bike racks curt hitch. If adding this shock enhancement, would this aid in hauling 6 bikes on a vertical bike rack?

Hey Ben! The Curt does have that restriction on the vertical bike racks so I recommend the TowSmart Trailer Hitch # TS82VR. This has a higher tongue weight capacity and will allow you to carry the VelociRAX. It would be a good idea to add the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV as well to help cut down on any movement from the rack.

Also yes, the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T58GR will help with hauling a 6-bike bike rack. Even with lighter bikes that is a lot of tongue weight, plus I'm sure you have the people to pair with the bikes. Add in anything else you're carrying in the rear and this extra support will go a long way. It will help keep you level and also absorb road shock for a smoother ride.

What kind of bikes do you have and where do you typically ride?

I returned the Timbren after I purchased them and I don't use them. Bought the airlift 1000 helper bags instead and they are OK but doesn't really help with extra sag when I'm towing our teardrop camper.

Robin, I’m very grateful for your help. At this time, we are just looking the hall bikes to bike around national parks and the campgrounds we stay at our kids are younger and their bikes do not weigh much.
