Will the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar e38FV Work w/ Rock Tamer Mud Flaps?

Question:

This looks pretty cool but do you know if it will work with Rock Tamers mud flaps installed? I think the bracket may block access to the allen screwse.

Expert Reply:

Yes, it will but you'll need a minimum of 2" between the edge of your hitch receiver and the back of the ball mount face. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar item # e38FV extends out 3/4" from the edge of your hitch receiver, this includes the allen screws. The collar on the Rock Tamers item # ERT00108 attaches to the ball mount and is 1" wide.

What you'll want to do is insert your ball mount without the Rock Tamers or a hitch collar installed and measure from the edge of the receiver to the back of the ball mount. If this distance is 2" or more you'll be good.

If you get a shorter measurement. Go ahead and comment below the specifications on what kind of ball mount you need and I'll see if we have one that'll work with a longer shank.
