Hello Bobby,

I have a great solution for you to be able to transport your two 55 lb bikes on the back of your travel trailer with a spare tire.

You will want the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric VFR Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # LGA25VR. This rack is rated for use on the back of a travel trailer and has a 60 lb capacity per bike, so it will handle your bikes with no problem.

What makes this rack a great fit for your setup is the swing-away design, which provides the clearance typically needed for a rear-mounted spare tire. It also secures the bikes by the wheels, making it a great option for heavier bikes and e-bikes since there is no frame contact. I really like that a ramp is included with this rack as well, no need to lift those 55 pound bikes if you don't need to. I attached an image of the ramp in use so you can check it out.

The current price and availability can be found on the product page for # LGA25VR, as those can change over time.

What trip are you looking most forward to this summer?

I have a Saris, the predecessor to the superclamp G3 HD two bike hitch, which is RV compatible. It works great. I even use a 7” extension so the doors on my Sprinter van can open. I would but the new G3 if I did not already have this one. I do use an entrailer anti rattle hitch clamp and it also works great.

@GregC Thanks for sharing your experience, Greg! It's great to hear your SuperClamp has worked so well, especially with the 7" extension to allow the Sprinter van doors to open. We appreciate you mentioning the anti-rattle clamp too. Thanks again for the feedback!

ok you say this will hold our 2-55 lb bikes-----------if we were to get different bikes later is there a rack available for this rv with a bumper mounted spare tire that will hold more weight if needed? also would we need the anti-raddle hitch accessory? not sure exactly what this does?

@BobbyC At this time, there isn't a bike rack rated for more weight when mounted to the back of a travel trailer. The rear of a trailer experiences a lot more bouncing and movement than a vehicle hitch, which is why trailer-approved racks have lower weight capacities. If you have enough clearance between your tow vehicle and camper, another option would be to use a stacked receiver hitch like the Gen-Y # 325-GH-214. This would allow you to carry the bike rack on the upper receiver while still towing from one of the lower receivers. Mounting the rack on the tow vehicle opens up quite a few more options and higher weight capacities. Do you currently need a drop or rise to tow your camper level? That will help me see if a stacked receiver setup could work for you.
