Hello Dave,

I do have an option that will work for your setup, but it is not part of our etrailer brand line. The Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer III for 2-1/2" Hitch with 2" Adapter # BX88312 is designed specifically for situations like yours, where you are using a 2-1/2" receiver along with an adapter for a 2" accessory. This stabilizer will help eliminate the rattle and movement that can happen when combining different sizes, giving you a much more secure and quiet connection while towing or carrying accessories.

What weight distribution hitch do you have, and how do you like it?

I use the E2 1000, I do like it works great on my set up. Will this Bx88312 work on my setup? Thank you.

@DaveS Yes, you can use the # BX88312 Hitch Receiver Immobilizer with your E2 weight distribution hitch. It works by clamping around the hitch shank to take out much of the play inside the receiver, which cuts down on the clunking and rattling you usually hear while towing. It won’t remove every bit of noise, since some movement is normal with a weight distribution setup, but it will make things noticeably quieter and more stable. The E2 like # FA92-00-0800 is a great weight distribution hitch! Definitely my go to, I like the systems with the straight spring bars and the brackets, they tend to be a little noisier, but that is because it is actually doing their job!!
