This magnetic hitch receiver reducer sounded like a great idea. I used it with a 6000lb trailer with an F-350 and Equalizer weight distribution hitch. The light loading on the WDH allowed the adapter to slide to the end of the slot, and then with the reduced length for weight distribution totally destroyed one of the magnets. Maybe this wasn't intended for weight distribution or my particular set up. It was a good idea that didn't work for me.
I’ve tried other hitch adapters, but this one is different. It has magnets in bottom and a collar that stops it from going too deep into the receiver. It also has a large oblong hole to make it easy to insert the pin. I leave it on the truck all the time.
After receiving the item when to check for fitness and find out the longer side lip facing up was to long and was hitting my bumper so has to cutter down to make it square to fit in after that install my hitch and the pin hole does not go in and out smooth because the adapter has too much play the only thing I like about the product so far is that the magnet are strong to hold it on place
From an alignment standpoint, it fits perfectly in the Ford F250 Superduty receiver. The real test will be to see if the reducer sleeve's magnets keeps it aligned with the hitch pin holes with no movement when I insert my 40LB travel trailer hitch and then try to insert the hitch pin. My hope is the magnets are strong enough to allow sliding the travel trailer hitch in and out while the reducer sleeve remains aligned with the hitch pin holes. I will provide a future update on this.
Seems like a solid piece. Just put on the truck haven’t towed but there is a lot less play in the hitch. I’m using with a gen y hitch.
This thing is awesome - so much easier to slide in and out of the receiver hitch than the one that came with my vehicle, since the flange gives you something to grab on to.
The magnets do a great job of holding the unit in place, when inserting the hitch, but it's still relatively easy to remove by simply sliding it out.

A year later and one of the magnets broke while the adapter was in the hitch, making quite difficult to take out the magnet pieces wedged the adapter into the receiver. I still use it, since the hitch pin holds it in place, just make sure to check the magnets each time prior to use.
With typical hitch adapters, I was hearing a lot of draw bar clunking with a lightly loaded trailer. With this magnetic adapter, I don’t hear the clunking anymore. Also, I used to have a lot of sway with one particular light trailer due to all the in the draw bar…no more with this adapter. I would not go back to a non-magnetic adapter, this is really nice. It’s worth the money!
Nice design is huge improvement over straight tube adapter. Face plate and tube to rear of receiver will support the hitch better,slotted pin opening for ease of alignment,and magnets to keep it quiet. I’m a fan and haven’t even used it yet!
This is fantastic! I looked at a bunch of adapters, but none of the hitch pin holes would line up with the hole in my receiver. This one just slide all the way in, it's super easy to insert the draw bar and line up everything for the hitch pin to easily slide through.
The top lip of the hitch receiver is too high to fit flush under the bumper. It sticks out about 1/2 inch. Works fine otherwise

Still works great. Magnet is strong enough to hold adapter in place while installing hitch.
Great product. Keeps the hitch sleeve from sliding. The elongated hole lets the sleeve slide all the way flush with the hitch. Wish I had purchased one of these ages ago.
Makes putting the bike rack on simple
I really like the magnet. Since I got this, I have purchased a 2½" draw bar so I only need this for my bike rack. Before this adapter I had an aluminum "bushing" type adapter. It was quickly apparent that it was not going to hold up under heavy use. The steel is much stronger & the oblong holes are a handy thing for inserting the retainer pin
The part that I received was misfabricated. I contacted etrailer about a replacement, they emailed with instructions on the information they needed and a request for a picture. I responded within 30 mins. After 2 days I still haven’t received a response on how this will be handled. Do better etrailer, this was a small part of a nearly $1,000 order that I needed for a trip, you had plenty of time to make this right and not impact my trip, I explained this to KellyP during the initial phone call but it made no difference.
The magnets broke and cracked in half. I literally had to beat it out of the 2 1/2 inch receiver.
Well made and fits perfectly. Very sati sfied.

Still working great
This magnetic hitch receiver reducer has been excellent! It stays in place and makes hole line up problems a thing of the past.it also helps take some of the rattle out of the hitch assembly.
This is brilliant. I struggled constantly with the cheap adapters. They either didn’t fit or they move around as you insert the 2” hitch. This fits and works perfect. Trailer hitch is 2 1/2” but other hitch’s I have are 2” so I will leave it in the truck for use when required. Thank you etrailer.

The hitch adapter has preformed flawlessly. I don’t use it often but it is always close at hand when I need it. Absolutely no issues with this product and would highly recommend it to everyone who requires an adapter.
Everything it says it is made it so much easier to hook up the the trailer hitch would definitely recommend
The sleeve works great. It makes it much easier to insert a hitch compared to the factory sleeve.

I am very pleased with the design and the quality of this reducer sleeve. It smoothly fits into the 2.5 inch receiver and is easily pinned in place. The magnets hold it in place nicely. Fabrication looks first rate. Thank you for a GOOD product.
This is best hitch receiver reducer that I have owned. The slotted holes and magnetic features make using this reducer so much easier than other reducers. Brilliant design.
Glad I sprung for the magnetic one, use it on my travel trailer I purchased. The camper came with a hitch/anti-sway setup but has the 2" shaft. This allows me to pull it with my larger truck with the 2.5" receiver easily. Had pulled it many times, short and long trips. Highly recommend.
Nice tight fit in my receiver. Much better than a Curt basic model that I used before.

After using this sleeve for a year, I found that the strength of the magnets are sufficient to hold it in place when ing a heavy hitch, Works great! Far superior than any other reducing sleeve I have tried.
