Will the etrailer Magnetic Hitch Reducer e28JR Slide In and Out?
Question:
Your new 2 1/2 magnetic reducer has a slot in it, will it slide in and out, or is it made to stay at the pin location?

Expert Reply:
No, the etrailer Magnetic Hitch Reducer item # e28JR won't slide around. That slot is put in for convenience to make it easier to insert a pin. The two magnets mounted to the bottom are what keeps it from sliding around.
The purpose of the magnets is to eliminate any unnecessary movement when installing and removing the adapter. It also helps to keep the adapter in place when you are installing your hitch accessories, as opposed to the adapter sliding freely in the hitch.
I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of this reducer demonstrated.
