Can etrailer Magnetic Hitch Reducer be Used when Towing Travel Trailer

Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/14/2025

Question:

can i use the magnetic hitch sleve to tow a 7500 lbs travel trailer , i am nervous that the sleve has a slotted groove vs a straight hole , is it gonna slide around and does it weaken my weight distribution strength, i know the magnets hold it in place to get the wds in place but what happens to the hitch on my truck due to a slotted hole when trailer is on my truck , and is this rated to tow a 7500 lbs travel trailer, i bought 1 of these units for frame mounted hitch to mount my e bikes on but i was wondering to get a 2nd one to use with the travel trailer on the back of my f250, bikes on the front arent much weight but a travel trailer is a whole new game .

Hey Bert, yes the etrailer hitch sleeve reducer part # e28JR will work great for you when towing a 7,500 lb travel trailer. Your WD system will put so much torque into the hitch tube that it will not slide around at all and it will be pinned in place basically.

Hey Bert, I'm glad to hear the hitch sleeve reducer will work for towing your 7,500 lb travel trailer. How did it perform with your F250 and the travel trailer? I'm curious because it could help others in a similar situation.
