Question:

What keeps the reducer from sliding back (aft) & forth (fwd) the length of the slots while a load is applied by whatever your towing?

Hi Craig,

Good question, and it is the magnets that stop the movement in the hitch when using the etrailer Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" Hitch # e28JR.

The magnets are on the bottom of the # e28JR and are very strong; the customers who have used and reviewed this adapter (per the reviews on the product page) have commented that it stays in place really well.
