Roadmaster Flat Tow Brake System - RM-751439

  • Stop Light Switch
  • Roadmaster

Avoid damage to your vehicle by ensuring that your supplemental braking system is properly positioned and working effectively. Kit activates your RV monitoring system to alert you when the brakes of your towed car are being applied.

Features:

  • Activates motorhome brake-monitoring system whenever brake pedal in towed car is applied
    • Ensures that the supplemental braking system is functioning properly
  • Works great for any application that does not have a tow position in the ignition
  • Wires directly into towed car's fuse box for constant current
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • 12 Volts
  • Application: custom fit for your vehicle

This kit allows your RV's monitoring system to alert you whenever the brake pedal of your towed car is being applied. Other systems operate according to whether the air cylinder is extended and provide no indication of what is happening with the pedal itself. If your supplemental braking system is improperly installed, it may be continuously pressing on the pedal, impeding it from fully retracting and possibly causing damage to your vehicle's tires and braking system. With Roadmaster's Stop Light Switch Kit, you will always know when the brake is being depressed, and you will avoid costly damage.

Great installation instructions and vid eos.

Your customer service leaves nothing lacking, and this follow-up from you is so out of character for the many web sites I have purchased from over the years. I am impressed by you and your company.

I bought the tow bar and the brake system for my Equinox, and installed them my self (I am 70 years old) - and with your provided instructions and video, I had no problems (even though I was surprised by the number of parts and detail that went into the assemblies).

Both systems have worked very well, with no problems. I am completely satisfied with them, and have told my friends and traveling acquaintances about your company.

Thanks for your follow-up!

Very easy installation with directions provided. On the Chevrolet Equinox this Stop Light Switch eliminates the need to install a relay. It will operate the brake lights in my Even Brake 9400 supplementary braking system. I recommend this Kit to make your supplementary braking system work.

by:

Excellent well engineered product. Requires basic electrical knowledge and skills to install and adjust.

No problems,works great.

This switch was a perfect fit for my 2017 Equinox. I followed the instructions on the etrailer video and it worked just perfect. It is much better than trying to find the brake switch wire in the vehicle wire bundle like I did for my previous vehicle. Kudos on the great videos available to help with installation.

Good instructions and easy to instal tnx to Lori AB for putting my order together

by:

Does what it is intended to do. Took a little time to install but it came with all the instructions I required, and it all looks and works great!

by:

The stop light switch kit is performing as expected. The installation is a little more difficult than what is shown. I ended up installing the switch to the bracket and then installing the bracket to the car. I have not replaced the cover-up panel under the dash installed in the car at the factory as it was damaged when removing it.

by:

I'am in the process of setting up my 2017 Equinox to tow behind our motorhome. I've placed 4-orders with etrailer. So far I've installed the base plate, the wiring from the rear tail lights to the front end.I also received my Tow bar and the quick release parts. my next project is to install the invisi brake system. I want to send Kudos to Cathy T for her help and her great customer service. I'am also thanking James A for his quick response to a question about the wiring harness. I'am extremely happy with the quality of everything I ordered at etrailer. Thanks

by:

Works perfectly. A little hard to instal,l because of location under the dash ( lying on your back upside down) but you only have to do it once.

  • Recommended Flat Towing Parts for a 2014 Chevy Equinox
I would be happy to help you set up your 2014 Chevy Equinox for flat towing. You will need a set of base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, a high low adapter, and a few other parts for power and fuses to make sure everything works together properly. I have listed each part below along with an explanation. I have also attached all of the installation instructions and linked installation videos when available. Tow Bar, Safety Chains, and Wiring...

  • Is a Brake Light Relay Needed with a Brake Buddy to Flat Tow a 2014 Chevy Equinox Behind an RV
On a 2014 Chevy Equinox you should NOT have to use brake light relay when flat towing the vehicle. You may however need a 12 volt outlet kit # RM-9332 and will most likely need a stop light switch kit # RM-751439 for the system to work properly and so you know the brake pedal in the Equinox is actually moving. I have included links to some videos showing how these parts install. Check your owners manual because it looks like a fuse has to be pulled to flat tow your Equinox. To make this...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2011 Chevy Equinox Behind a Motor Home
Between the MX and EZ4 base plates for the 2011 Chevy Equinox, both have removable draw-bar arms that you can take out when not in use so either one would be virtually invisible with the arms out. I recommend going with the EZ4 base plates, # RM-523160-4, because they are compatible with more tow bars. Before going any further you will want to consult the vehicle owners manual to make sure your Equinox can be flat towed and if there are any special requirements or procedures you need to...

I have added a link to the installation instructions as well as a video review of this kit for you to take a look at. • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2016-2017 GMC Terrain or Chevy Equinox
We have everything you need to pull your new GMC Terrain or Chevy Equinox behind your RV with all 4 wheels on the ground. To do this you will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution, and a supplemental braking system. These two vehicles are extremely similar so the needed parts will be the same for either option. Starting with the base plates, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-523184-5. I assume that since you previously flat towed the Terrain that you have a tow bar and safety cables but I will make some recommendations just in case you need those items as well.
