Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX straight valve stop fitting. Now, this straight valve stop connects your pipes and hoses in your RV fresh water plumbing system, and allows you to control the flow of water simply by twisting the valve here, a quarter turn. So you've got quite a bit of control as to how much flow of water you're getting, or cutting it off completely. This is going to be a great option, whether you're repairing leaky connections, or installing new lines. This will work with your PEX pipes, the old gray PV pipes, as well as the polyvinyl tubing.
You can see we have half inch barbed connections on either end. That's gonna fit your hoses and tubes with a half inch inner diameter. Those barbed connections when paired with the compression ends here are going to allow you to get this installed very easily. You won't need to use any tools. Basically, the way this works, you'll just slide that compression end over your hose or tube, and then you'll get that barbed end inserted into your hose or tube.
Now, that might take a little bit of doing getting that barbed end in, might have to apply some pressure, and wiggle quite a bit. But then, once you have that installed, you can simply put on that compression end, and that's gonna create a very secure fit for you. I actually tried this out myself a few days ago with a very similar fitting here. We also have some spare PEX pipe laying around. So I put the fitting in the PEX pipe, and I will say it can be kind of difficult to get that barbed end into your hose, but if you use some pressure, apply some elbow grease, and get a little bit of wiggle in there, you'll be able to get it in.
With that said, if you are gonna be working in a confined space under a counter or in a cabinet, something along those lines, I'd recommend trying to get that fitting on your hose or tube before you get into that confined space. Somewhere where you're gonna have a little bit more elbow room. that can apply leverage to get the pressure put on it, and get that installed. But, once you have it installed, it's gonna be a very secure fit. I was super impressed.
I was able to get it tightened down by hand, get everything hooked up, just by hand. I didn't have to use any tools, but then when I wanted to take it off, I had to use a couple different vise grips to get it off there. So it's a very secure fit just with your hands, because it is using that barbed end to basically expand your pipe or hose, and then that compression end tightens it back down, so you've got a very secure connection. This is constructed of a polyoxymethylene construction, so it is gonna be very durable, and resistant to stress cracking. So it will hold up well, and give you great performance for years to come. And, I do wanna point out, this is just one of the connections that we have available here at etrailer.com. So as you're thinking through your project, what kind of connections you're gonna need, what kind of lines you're gonna need to run, I would recommend looking at our other options, as well. Make sure you've got everything that you need for your project. And, that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
