When your hitch sits lower than your trailer coupler, this drawbar brings everything back in line. I've been ordering from etrailer for years off and on w/ time sensitive projects. If you want to just get it over with in a timely and reliable fashion, just use these guys and gals and don't stress over saving a buck or two w/ somebody else. They will talk to you to, like over the phone w/ a real human, if there is an issue. And there was a very minor issue. They called ME! Imagine that.
So product review for this hitch? It's heavy duty and will rip the back half of your car off before this thing breaks.
Used this drawbar towing my motorcycle trailer behind my 2016 Honda Accord for about 10,000 miles so far. Works great and I got it for a good price from etrailer. With the finish they have on it, still looks like new.
I needed a drawbar that would make my boat trailer track safely by being as level as possible. Etrailer provided me with very helpful information which led me to ordering their drawbar. It has yet to be installed with a hitch that I am buying locally. I expect all to go well.
I purchased a new 2016 Ford Focus and wanted a trailer hitch to carry my bicycle and also to pull a small trailer. I installed a Curt 11158, class 1 trailer hitch (perfect fit & no installation problems). The Curt C45024 drawbar was a perfect match for the car. See picture. Very happy & worth 5 stars.
Was everything they said it would be.installing it diy was even easier than I thought it would be. now i've got to pull my poor overloaded trailer out from behind the garage and see what else I need to order next ..sigh ..anyways if I need something else I will use etrailer for my next purchase. thanks guys for making life just a little bit easier...the drawbar was my second purchase my 1st was the tow hitch for the ford fusion...

I am towing an 820 lb. Sylvan Sport pop-up with my VW Golf. This is the maximum weight I can tow with my car. Because the Golf has a very low clearance, finding a tow bar with enough lift has been difficult. I went through two previous tow bars that made attaching the trailer difficult, especially in non-level campgrounds. The Curt drawbar with a 5" rise was the solution to my problems, it gives me just enough lift to deal with all situations
For Mazda CX-3 owners, this is the drawbar you need to achieve the correct final hitchball height for small U-Haul cargo or motorcycle trailers. You know the receiver sits quite low so this gets the height just where it needs to be, especially when the trailer is properly weighted/loaded.
Good product, well made. However one needs to make or buy a Trailer Hitch Anti-Rattle / tightener.
I ordered the Curt hitch and ball mount for my 2011 VW Golf TDI. The product arrived sooner than advertised and the video and printed instructions were complete. As other customers have noted, the hitch is low and care should be exercised. My only suggestion would be to include Posilock T connectors as they provide a superior connection over the suggested sissor connector. Check out Posilock's website, I think that you will agree that they are a quality item in keeping with your company's well deserved reputation.
Worked perfectly with the Curt towing hitch for my 2016 Scion tC (stock height).
Not tested yet, but was happy to find a hitch that would help me tow my new trailer at the proper height. Didn't even know such a thing existed until I saw them on this site.

Still very happy with it! Works perfect on my Fiesta ST.
This is the perfect 1.25 hitch slider for a passenger car. You need at least 18" to the ball for a trailer (etc) to set level. Passenger cars sit lower and softer suspension. This is the only place you can find a 5" rise in a slider. E-trailer has it all including the trailer wiring adapter which fit perfect. My 2016 Chevy Impala never had is it so good...Thanks for great products.

One Year later and still perfect!
Recently I ordered the Curt C45014 Curt Class II Drawbar - 5" Rise - 9-5/8" Long rated for 3,500 lbs. However, I ordered this C45024 by accident and it is rated for only 2000 pound. However, they are exactlly the same. Only thing I can tell different is that the C45014 is rated for rise only, and the sticker on the C45024 is rated for rise or drop. This is solid square bar stock and the flat bar for the ball mount is the same thickness. Since they are the same I would not be afraid to pull 3500 lbs or more with either one. Only a few dollars difference. Either one is excellent since they appear to be exact.

I have found Curt products are of the highest quality. If possible I always buy Curt products. I think Curt under rates their products and over engineer all products. Therefore, Curt products are heavy duty without failure.

Highest quality ive seen....perfect fit I can use it on my harley and my SUV... When my wife returns from Afghanistan in May...we will travel across the S.E. USA on the Harley Trike and trailer thanks to Curt product.
Were the shank a half inch longer and the pin hole moved to match, this would have fit my car perfectly. As it was, I needed to cut my bumper to install it.

I drilled it out for a 1 post and repeatedly hauled far more than the 2000lbs my car is rated for, even at highway speeds in through city traffic. I dont see this failing anytime soon.

The Curt curved drawbars are much nicer than the other brands welded at 90 degrees. I'd pay another couple bucks if you'd add a step in the production process to round off all the sharp corners on the top plate.
Shipped in quicker than I thought it would. It fit it my old Hidden Hitch Class I receiver perfectly. I drive a '97 Geo Prizm, and the 5 inch rise is a definite plus in keeping my 5 x 8 utility trailer nice and level when I'm hauling lawn equipment. The only drawback is that the Curt drawbar does not come with the pin.
I thought it came with a hitch pin, I will find one locally. Slow shipping seems to have gotten lost over week to make it 400 miles to Indianapolis. Not E Trailers fault. All is good now that the drawbar is here.
