This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
Unlike most couplers, which only have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the latch and on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the Demco EZ-Latch Adjustable Channel Mount Trailer Coupler for a 2 5/16ths inch diameter ball has a 21,000 pound capacity, and a nice silver finish to it. Now, this ball coupler here will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. This will provide a connection point for your 2 5/16ths inch diameter hitch ball. And this does use an EZ-latch mechanism.
It's a nice steel latch handle here that'll ensure simple, secure hookup and disconnect. Basically, what's nice about the EZ-latch design, it'll let you hook up when the latch is in the closed position like it is right now. All you have to do is drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place. And then to remove it, you just lift up on the handle. And to demonstrate that, I happen to pull here is a 2 5/16ths inch diameter hitch ball.
So again, with the latch in the closed position, you just put your coupler over the ball. And with some pressure when you push down, you can see it automatically latches. You could probably see the latch lift up a little bit and then go down. So it's locked in, you're ready to go. So, no need to have to open the latch to hook up.
And then when you're ready to remove or unhook, just raise the latch all the way up and it'll come right off the ball. Simple as that, and put it back in the closed position, ready to hook up again. Now the diameter, now this does feature a hole right here through the side of the coupler, and this will lets you insert a coupler lock through this hole to keep that latch from lifting, so it'll prevent any disconnect and theft. Now, the coupler locks we do sell separately. You do wanna make sure to get one that'll fit a 5/16ths inch diameter hole.
And the minimum span that's needed has to be at least 3 inches minimum for the lock to fit in there. It is an adjustable channel mount. This will let you change the coupler's height depending on the application. The channel bracket and the mounting hardware are all sold separately. The vertical distance between these adjustment holes is 2 inches. It is a sturdy steel construction, so it has a nice silver powder coat finish on it. Gives you extra corrosion resistance. Does have a 500-hour salt spray rating, so it will be great for marine applications. Part is made in the USA. Few specs again, this will fit a 3 inch wide channel bracket. The ball size it fits is 2 5/16ths inch diameter, and the weight capacity is 21,000 pounds. Great replacement coupler, however be aware it does not include the pin lock. So essentially it is non usable until a pin lock is acquired. That in itself seems easy until you try and find a 5/16 diameter that is at least 3.5 inches long locally to use quick.
This is a new brand to me. I'm installing for a client and wanted a quality fail safe coupler. This is it, very heavy duty, solid latching system. I expect years of worry free service from this coupler.
Perfect addition to my new trailer.The original junk coupler was a pita to use.Had to use free hand to hold lock back while jacking up to remove trailer from truck.Honestly looking forward to using the trailer now.
I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
Worked perfect with the adjustable weld on channel. Was able to drop the ball coupler 10” from the old lunette height on an M1101 military trailer. Not a lot of fab work, just a couple of 3/8” plates and bolted them up and welded the channel on an bolted the ball coupler at the height I needed to level the trailer when towing with my Jeep Galdiator.

Great coupler, although it doesn't fit on the trailer I bought it for as my trailer only has a 2 3/8" tubing instead of 3".

Product itself is GREAT! It came with no manual or instructions or details, or even a factory box. Just cam in plain box with nothing? The second item came in a box that looked like it went through a dozen yard sales and returns. Box was held together with tape. Product inside was very nice shape.

Hey I am sorry that the coupler is not a fit for you. I checked and none of the couplers that we have to offer would fit, they all have a span of 2.86 inches to fit into a 3-inch channel.
