Roger - 06/19/2022Excellent service again on the hitch for my 2018 Prius IV Touring. The videos and documentation were very helpful. It did take two of us to do the install and for amateurs there is a learning curve (how the clips come out, etc.) but we completed the install in an hour and a half. It is solid and looks like it came installed from the factory. I am very pleased with the product, my third from this company.
John - 06/18/2021After watching the video, the undercarriage plastic was easy to remove. The hitch fit well behind the bumper. All plastic was returned to it's locked place.

Hitch was back ordered for a while. Once it arrived, easy to self install. Install videos were great. I use this light hitch for a bike rack. Perfect for that application.

Installed on our 2016 Toyota Prius in about 90 minutes. Read the instructions, watch the install video and grab an extra set of hands and you'll have it installed in no time!
We are using it with a two-bike mount Yakima Holdup and a 4" - 2" to 1 1/4" adapter riser (We currently have a 2" hitch on our RAV4, so we can swap the rack between cars). Sways a little bit, but some black duck tape around the 1 1/4 inch adapter eliminate most sway.
I am pleased with the final look of the hitch on the car. The steps to get there were simple. Ordering was easy, shipping was free and arrived on time. After watching the video on installation, I realized that it would be a lot easier on a lift than lying on the ground with a roller board. I had the local Toyota dealer mount it. He raved about how perfect the fit was and said it was the best designed hitch for a Prius that he had ever worked with.

The receiver works great and is plenty sturdy,
I got a local garage to install it after seeing from the video how involved the process is for a Prius Prime. The garage confirms that it went just fine, but is not simple.
On the usage side, good news and bad.
Good: The hitch sits well back of the bumper's outer edge so is not very visible to passersby. for someone concerned about marring the car's looks this would be a big plus.
Bad: Being well back, it is more difficult to mount my bicycle rack to this receiver than it was on my previous one, which was also on a Prius. If you have a place to park such as the edge of a wall or pit while mounting to the receiver, no problem. For me the rack is kept at the back of my garage with rather poor lighting and a level floor. I think next time I'll use a dolly to get under there.
After a year I sold the Prius and bought a Tacoma, but within that year I used the hitch to travel between Florida, west Virginia, Tennessee, north Carolina, Georgia and Arkansas with two mountain bikes and a stabilization strap for my bike rack, not only was I getting 45-50mpg but the car didn't even struggle , the rack is very well built and trailer support was amazing in getting it to me.
Your website and purchase was easy and pretty accurate about matching the product w my car model and year (2018 Prius). The product got shipped on time to my address and the item was in perfect condition.
On the installation, it took some time but it was nice to have a second person to help me. Specially someone who has power tools. The video really helps make things go faster and not make any mistakes.
I am using it to install a bike rack since I don't want to place it on top of my car.

I tried installing this myself, but I don't have a socket wrench and so I ended up hiring some professional help to install. For the cutouts to the plastic baffles, I sealed them with Gorilla tape for extra protection. I used a CZC AUTO Expandable Hitch Cargo Carrier Bag which fit perfectly in the rack. The whole system performed flawlessly on my 5000 mile cross-country trip. The attached picture shows the rack and bag on the tail end of my Prius with the Habitent I used for camping.
Excellent product, delivery, and design! As advertised it was a challenge to install, but well worth the effort. Being full time RV'ers we tow our Prius on a dolly and need to move the dolly occasionally. This dolly is too heavy to move very far by hand. I think this hitch will serve us well.

Beefy hitch. The install went well. I was able to complete the installation without fully removing the outside bumper shell. I just remove the bumper and some of the connectors at each end then pulled the shell back. I believe it made the reinstall easier.
Tow hitch makes a solid connection via the bumper bolts. That part is easy. Installation is definitely a 10 out of 10 difficulty because of all the Toyota plastic bumper parts that need removing. The eTrailer video is for a 2018, and my 2019 Prius AWD-e is a little different, and some of the tab connectors are difficult to remove. You can't really see them and have to guess how to remove (connectors between the plastic bumper and the metal above the bumper). It's a tight space for your fingers and any screw driver you want to use to depress the locking tabs. Nice part is that it is much easier to put it all back together. :-)

Teodoro D - 10/25/2021Looks good. Hardly visible under the bumper. The instructions were well written but the adjoining images were impossible to work with, too dark and lacking detail. Bolting on the hitch to the frame was far more difficult than it should have been and I had to resort to using guided threaded bolts to align hitch frame with vehicle frame. The instructions about the pin inserts were lacking crucial information.
Good hitch but too short under bumper, need to to be out more about 2”
Great bike rack on my Prius
This is a great hitch. And the ease of installation was a wonder. I’m a church pastor with very little practical skill and I was able to put this together with quite easily (I did watch an installation video that was helpful). It is solid and looks great on the car!
Been a year, traveled 2 bikes from CA to AR, along with weekly trips, and long road trips and so far no issues.
The install wasn’t as bad, it did take some patience though. I’d say the install took me about an hour and a half. I haven’t added a bike yet but I took the car for a drive and the bike rack (hitch) didn’t budge at all. So the real test would be the bikes when they come in.
