QH Dims

Nearly every hitch setup suffers from a bit of slip. This free play between your trailer hitch receiver and your hitch-mounted accessory is completely normal, but it's also completely preventable. By adding the Quiet Hitch to your setup, you can stabilize your hitch-mounted accessory as it sits in the receiver to eliminate rattle, sway, and all that extra play.

USE W ACCESSORIES - BAR ON TOP

Just slip the Quiet Hitch over your drawbar or other accessory. When you slide the accessory into the hitch receiver, position the U-bolt around the collar on the bottom of your hitch receiver. Then place the bar on top of the accessory shank and tighten the nuts onto the U-bolt. As you tighten the Quiet Hitch, the shank of your accessory will be pulled down towards the bottom of the receiver opening, thus securing it in place within the tube.

  • Will Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier Be Useful on 2024 Honda Civic Touring
Hello again Dennis; it really depends on what your max tongue weight is on the 2024 Honda Civic. The Curt # C92UR has a max tongue weight of 200 lbs. A cargo carrier like the # C18145 and # C18110 will take up 30 lbs of that leaving you with 170 lbs of the hitch capacity to carry your clothes and other items. Assuming the vehicle capacity is the same or similar (you're limited by whichever capacity is lower) I would say that is pretty useful. The cargo carriers for a 1-1/4" hitch aren't...

  • In Search Of A Threaded Hitch Pin For Bell Bike Rack
You will need to use a lock made by Bell for your Bell bike carrier if it requires a threaded hitch bolt. The issue is that bike rack manufacturers give their locks unique threads so they are not interchangeable with other racks. While it is possible that some carriers will be threaded the same I have no way to test any of the ones we have with a Bell bike carrier, so I have no way to confirm if a theaded pin like the Replacement Threaded Hitch Bolt for SportRack Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers...

  • Trailer Hitch and Hitch Adapter Recommendation for 2019 Buick Encore Carrying Kuat NV
Yes, you would want to use an anti-rattle for the 1-1/4 inch portion of the adapter. For that the Hitch part # C11257 would work well. It uses a U-bolt to hold the adapter tight to the hitch tube.

  • Does Lets Go Aero NEO2 Bike Rack Require Stabilizer Strap For 1-1/4" Hitch
The answer to your question depends on what the hitch instructions call for. However, if it is a Curt like the # C11412 we previously talked about they have dropped the requirement for the strap. If you have a strap already it wouldn't hurt to use it to stabilize the # B01748 but it is not required.

  • Comparing The Curt # C92UR And Draw-Tite # 24954 Trailer Hitch Receivers For A 2020 Honda Civic
Hey Ian, There's really not much of a difference between the Curt # C92UR and Draw-Tite # 24954 since they both have the same exact fitment and gloss finish. Personally, I prefer Curt's hitches because these are all shipped by the manufacturer on a pallet and can get dinged or scratched up being transported around and Curt's paint seems to hold up and not chip likely Draw-Tite's does. The Curt also has a lip on the end of the receiver tube so that you can use an anti-rattle device like...

  • Availability of 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Hitch Adapter that Fits 2014 Nissan Juke
We have a Class I compatible 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter that fits the hitch you have installed on your 2014 Nissan Juke with the part # HTAD. You should note that using a hitch adapter does cut the capacity of the hitch you install it in by 50 percent.

  • Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock Recommendation for 1-1/4 inch Hitch and 2 inch Hitch
If the 1-1/4 inch accessories have a hollow shank the best option is the part # SHP2082 which is an anti-rattle device as well as a hitch lock. For a similar setup designed for a 2 inch hitch opening you'd want the part # 63232 which is essentially the same thing but for the larger hitch size.

  • What Can Help Control the Bouncing and Shaking Seen on Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers
The bouncing and shaking that you saw in the video is the norm on the majority of cargo carriers on the market. The extended location from the hitch causes the carrier to bounce more than a hitch accessory that might sit closer to the vehicle. There are a few products that can help with the bounce. An anti-rattle device, like # e99007 for 2 inch hitches, can help by securing the cargo carrier's hitch shank to the hitch receiver. The bolts will push the shank up tight against the top of...

  • Recommended Hitch Extender for Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch and 2 Inch Bike Rack
The Draw-Tite # 24857 for your 2008 BMW is only rated for Class I. This means the only options to have your bike rack fit are the # HTAD or the # HT5R that are compatible with Class I hitches. You will limit the 200 lb tongue weight capacity of your hitch to 100 lbs because the adapter will reduce the hitch's tongue weight by 50%. That new 100 lb capacity will need to include the weight of your bike carrier as well as the loaded bikes. I also recommend using a hitch lock like # e98880...

  • Is Just 2" Shank For Thule T2 Classic Replacement Shank Available?
I have two options for you, but no, you cannot by just the receiver portion of the replacement 2" shank # 753-3581 as Thule does not sell it by itself. Your first option is going ahead and spending the money to get the 2" shank # 753-3581 so you don't need any sort of adapter to work with your 2" trailer hitch. Option two is sticking with your 1-1/4" shank, and using the 2" to 1-1/4" adapter # e58YR along with anti-rattle hitch pin # SHP2061, and anti rattle # RM-061-125. The combination...

  • Anti-Rattle Device Recommendations for 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Hitch Adapter
What you described is one of the downsides of using a hitch extender like the # HTAD. It adds a bunch of movement to the hitch. If the bike rack has a standard hollow shank with a non-threaded hitch pin you could use the part # 63232 for that portion of the setup and then for the 1-1/4 inch portion you could use the # RM-061-125. The best solution though would be to go with a bike rack that is designed to fit your hitch size so that you don't have to use the adapter. This would solve...

I do have an option for you but I can't confirm that the Trailer Hitch Anti-Rattle Kit part # F-315 will work with the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack part # KU74FR. They are just not simply tested for use with one another. Instead, I recommend using the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061-125 so long as you factory trailer hitch has a ring/collar around the receiver tube opening. • How To Reduce Rattle When Using a 2 Inch to 1-1/4 Inch Reducer with Bike Rack
I do have an option for you but all of the reducer sleeves like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter part # C45770 are going to be problematic in regards to excess slop at the connection point. However, what you can do to avoid this is use an anti-rattle device. The best anti-rattle devices we have are the Roadmaster Anti-Rattle devices which can be used for both the hitch reducer, and your 1-1/4" accessories. Please note that using this hitch extender will reduce the overall weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50% and will add some extra play to your bike rack. For this I recommend taking a look at the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125. Any hitch adapter/extender product such as 2-inch-to-1-1/4-inch adapters # HTAD and # HT5R can introduce the potential for some rattle. But we do offer anti-rattle devices that can take most of the slack out of such systems to reduce rattle and noise. In your 1-1/4-inch hitch (or in a 2-inch) you can use part # RM-061-125 which is shown in the linked video. Do note that any hitch adapter will reduce the hitch's rated capacity by 50-percent.
