Question:
Trailer mount part number c45028 shows rise at 5 3/8 but this is different than others that sell the part. Does your part differ from the others made by curt that are designated at 4 5/8 rise? I need a 1 1/4 receiver mount with 5 inch or more rise. Is that available?

The Curt bar # C45028 (5-3/8 inch rise or 6-inch drop) you referenced is one of 3 Curt drawbars we currently offer that will have a 5 inch or more rise in the shank. The reason other shanks may have a different rise is because it may have a different Class rating. I also pulled this drawbar from our warehouse and made a short video and diagram for you.
Please note you can only use Class-I rated crossbars because your 1998 Volkswagen Cabrio only works with Class-I hitches.
The two other Curt drawbars we currently offer will have a 5-inch rise in the shank. Part # C45024 and # C45025. There currently isn't a Curt drawbar with a 4-5/8 inch rise that we offer.
I included several video reviews and a informative article about trailer hitch classes.
