Recommended Highest Rise Ball Mount for a 1-1/4" Hitch

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/15/2025

Question:

A friend had a curt class 1, 2000 1 1/4 hitch mounted on her 2014 ES 350 Lexus. The trailer ball mount needs a 2 ball. It needs to be at least 8 from the rear of the hitch and have an approx. rise of 8-9. Can you give me a part/parts number that will give me that combination? Thank you,

Hey Larry that's quite a bit of rise! They don't make those for 1-1/4" hitches but I can get you closeish.

You'll want to start with the Curt Class I Drawbar item # C45024. It has a 5" rise from the top of the inside of the hitch receiver. This ball mount extends out 9-9/16" from the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball.

For a hitch ball, you'll want to use the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball item # C94CR. This will gain you an extra 1-1/2" of height over a standard hitch ball. This 2" hitch ball would get your total height to 6-1/2". That's to the base of the hitch ball where it connects to the coupler.

What kind of trailer is your friend going to be pulling?

Hey Larry, did the combination of the Curt Class I Drawbar and the Curt RockerBall work out for your friend's trailer? I'm curious to know if it provided the right height for towing, as it could help others with similar needs.
