Average Customer Rating:  4.4 out of 5 stars   (11 Customer Reviews)

A folding, collapsible hand rail designed for your trailer's scissor steps. Perfect length for the 3 step variety.

Not the easiest to install. Difficult in actual usage. It's better to obtain one that attracts to camper that folds out of the way. On the other hand the steps are great

Super easy installation and very sturdy hand rail! Excellent company and fast shipping!

The stair railing is well made and uses thick aluminum. I was lucky to save a little money by ordering a "not new" one, but the savings were well worth the couple of small scratches it hear the bottom of the vertical piece.

There were two minor issues with the order, and I include them only to show how well eTrailer treats their customers. First, the shipping charges were double what they should have been. I didn't know about this until I got a notification from my credit card issuer that a refund had been made. I checked my statement and found that eTrailer had refunded the overcharge.

Second, the product arrived with a small part broken. I emailed eTrailer and they responded immediately advising me that a replacement part would be sent. It arrived today and all is well.

I have done business with eTrailer several times in the past and I've always been happy with their products and service.

Easy to install and very sturdy. We are in our 70s, so a little extra insurance against tripping or falling is welcome.

I am a little disappointed with the Hand rail. It doesn't go up as high as I would prefer. On my camper it isn't high enough to be of any help on the last step into the camper. It is a bit awkward to install and align but it is better than no hand rail. I think design could be improved!!

this is just what i was looking for. it was easy to install and much lighter than any other option i was looking at, while still feeling sturdy.the entire process to remove and fold up the stairs take seconds when you are ready to leave or move.

very nice product, I adapted it's use for steps leading from my garage into the house.

excellent product

The clip that holds the railing to the camper, the holes for that could be a little bigger. I had to drill it out to make the fit in hole. Other than that it is a great product.

Love the rail! Easy to install, light weight and very sturdy.

You took care of our order very well. Thank you

  • How Does the Aluminum Hand Rail # AHR3 Attach to Trailer
The Hand Rail part # AHR3 that you referenced includes a mounting bracket that will attach to the trailer and allows a pin to run through the handle to secure it to the bracket. For more info check out the review video I attached that shows the 4 step version of this handrail and how it attaches to both the RV and steps.

  • Dimensions of the Parts that Make Up the Aluminum Hand Rail for 3 Step Scissor Stair # AHR3
I went out to the warehouse and pulled an Aluminum Hand Rail for 3 Step Scissor Stair, # AHR3, to take some measurements. The longer piece is 43-1/4 inches long. The shorter piece is 39-1/8 inches long. Both pieces are constructed of 1-1/2 inch square tubing. The brackets is 12 inches long and 2 inches wide. The bolt holes are 2 inches apart, but the 2 center most holes are 6 inches apart. I have included some pictures showing these measurements for you.

  • RV Step Rail Recommendation That Has Round Handle
I would agree that a round handle for RV steps would be easier to grab and would feel more natural than a square shape. A better option for you might be the Lend A Hand Handle part # AM-533 which does have a round handle shape and has a pad for grabbing onto that helps as well.

  • Do the Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # SS03 Self-Adjust
The Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # SS03 do have a little bit of adjustability. They have an expanded height range of 24" - 30" and self-adjust to the terrain. • Do Fold-Out Steps Need to be Removed When Mounting Brophy Scissor Steps
That is a good question, and you can leave your current fold-out steps up and in the folded position when installing the mounting bracket of the Brophy Scissor Steps. The reason is, the bracket will be installed just underneath the door so as long as when your steps are folded up there is no interference in that area the Brophy steps will be a great option. I added a photo for you a customer sent in which shows the bracket and steps installed so you can get an idea of how they mount. The...

  • What Size Scissor Steps for Rear Ramp of Toy Hauler 32 inches From Ground?
If 32 inches is the height unloaded, I think you are cutting it too close. With your toy hauler loaded, the height will definitely shorten a few inches. You would be better off with the smaller one that is 24 to 30 inches tall. You could mount the steps a little lower to accommodate the unloaded height of the toy hauler. The Aluminum Scissor Steps, 24 inches wide, 24-30 inches tall (part AS23) can be fully extended to 30 inches tall, or can be slightly compressed so that they measure 24...

  • How to Install A8000 Torklift All Terrain Landing Gear on Scissor Steps with Rivets
Great question! The All Terrain Landing Gear for RV Scissor Steps, # TLA8000, work with most factory scissor steps. Many steps like Brophy Scissor Steps # AS23 use rivets. You are correct - the rivets will need to be drilled out using a 1/4" drill bit. Once this is completed, you will replace the lower hoop of the steps using the hardware that is provided. (See attached diagram.) To further increase the safety of your steps, you may want to consider adding a handrail like # AHR3. I've...

  • Recommended Hand Rail For A 2017 Jayco Jayflight SLX
The first thing that comes to mind is a folding grab handle since it will permanently install to the side of the camper. A really good option is the Lend-a-Hand Extra Large Folding Grab Handle # AM-533. The handle itself is 37" tall and 25-1/2" wide so there is plenty of railing to grab on to. It can be installed on either flat or corrugated surfaces, you just want to be sure it is secured to the wood framing or a wall stud. The picture below shows one installed on a camper very similar...

  • Recommended Scissor Steps for Varying Distance From Door to Ground
I took a look at each of the scissor steps we carry and there are not any available that have the range of 18" to 26" you are looking for. You are not going to want to use the Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # AS23, which have a range of 24" to 30" when your door is 18" off the ground so your best option would be to use both the # AS23 steps as well as the Brophy # AS02 which have a height range of 18" to 23". I've added a link to video reviews of both steps for you to take a look at.

  • Are the Steel Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # SS03 Available in Aluminum
We do have the Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # SS03 in aluminum. This is found on our site as part # AS03. Please note that the aluminum version has a weight capacity of 250 lbs as opposed to the 300 lbs of capacity that the steel version has. If you would like to add some more stability to these steps then the handrail # AHR3 can be used. The manufacturer specifically states that these steps should not be mounted permanently. You really should remove them before you start traveling.

  • Aluminum Scissor Steps AS23 Dimensions
The height measurement on the item you selected is 24 to 30 inches to the mounting bracket. As long as the distance from the area the stairs are to be mounted straight down to the ground is within this 6 inch range the stairs will work nicely. We have other sizes of steps (see links below) if this size is not correct for you. I have posted links to hand rails for the adjustable steps also. If I can be of further assistance let me know.
