Essential Measurements
If you are eying the Safe-T-Rail and think you'd really like to upgrade your trailer with this unique design, the next thing you need to eye is the side of your RV. This will work perfectly on many trailers, but there are some situations that might make it incompatible or require some extra work during installation.
The Safe-T-Rail needs to be mounted on a completely flat surface that is free of any obstructions. The bottom bracket will hug the corner of the door frame at the bottom (as shown). So check the following things:
If you have rubber seals or trim that can be removed, that's OK. Just know you will need to be ready with the tools to cut and seal those areas to prevent any water damage.
When you remove your old grab handle, you're going to need to be ready to repair the screw holes to prevent any water damage. This can be done with some simple silicone caulk or sealant. You'll also need caulk or butyl tape to seal the screw holes when mounting the Safe-T-Rail to keep moisture out.
There are 2 upper mounting brackets included. The longer bracket may be needed to cover up screw holes from your old grab handle. This not only helps to keep out moisture, but it makes sure the outside of your RV still looks nice. If the shorter bracket covers any old screw holes, the longer one is not used.

My wife says that the Safe-T-Rail should have been standard equipment on TTs 20 years ago!! Ive gotta admit that Im pretty fond of it, too!! lol

The hand rail works great, much better than the stock handle my 5th wheel came with.
Installation was straightforward and the handrail seems sturdy. Really like the minimal profile when retracted against the trailer. Price at etrailer was competitive with other sellers and delivery was fast.

We ordered this for us and 2 friends because we all have bad knees and it has been a wonderful help. We all feel so secure when using it and helps with the pressure on our knees. I highly recommend.

The railing seems to be very good quality and functions perfectly. Installation was well documented on the instructions and did not take much time. Very happy with it.
We’d been looking at these since the Tampa RV Show 2 years ago, but I was hesitant to try it because, based upon the installation instructions, I would have to cut a piece of trim beside the door. Finally decided to give it a shot. We couldn’t be more pleased with this product. Installation was far easier than I had expected, and the Safe-T-Rail is far more sturdy than the previous hand/grab rail that we had. Highly recommend the product and eTrailer.

We absolutely love the Safe T Rail. Easily, one of the best MorRyde products in the market. So much better than the standard door hand handles.

Very easy install! Great product! With this new handle, we have something that goes further down to hold onto. I like that it folds straight down so now more having to fold it to the side to open the door.
With the old folding handle you had to be on the first or second step to reach it. This is much better! Seems very strong for pulling though side to side it does wobble as there is no side support. Install wasn't too bad, it was removing the old one(silicone) and cutting the aluminum side molding to make room that was a bit challenging.
Product was awesome,installed in a matter of 20 minutes. Shipping was awesome

Excellent,it was easy to install,and gives a nice secure feeling coming in and out of the camper.
Much more sturdy than the original trailer rail. Still some play but not enough to loose your balance. However I could not find any instructions on how to remove and cut the aluminum molding along the bottom where the rail passes through on my 2026 Phoenix 381 DBL. I managed though. ;) I ended up having to cut across the top of the trim with wire cutters to make room for the rail.
My fault, the stair rail came to close to our leave date, so didn’t install it. Thought I could do it on our first non-travel day, but it isn’t going to happen. Didn’t bring my oscillating saw and on my Alliance 25RL, I need to trim some of the fender for a good install. Will just have wait till I get home.

This handrail was easy to install. My wife and I and her 91-year-old mother find it very helpful getting up and down the steps. Highly recommend it!

I think it is a very good handle. Gives you that extra length and very sturdy. Wish the install instructions where a little more detailed as far as step by step. Little veig in some areas.

Super easy install! Upgraded from the existing door handle on our 2025 GD 24RL 5th Wheel. This provides support the entire length of the stairs and is actually A LOT more stable than what came with the trailer. Worth the money.
I am exceptionally impressed with this handrail! It was simple to install, only requiring very minor trim modifications to my Jayco North Point 382FLRB.

As my wife and I get older, getting up and down a 42 inch gap with the original D-shaped handle and a bouncy 3 step fold out step has made traveling in the fifth wheel less enjoyable. Especially since both of us have had both knees replaced etc… This handrail only took an hour to install and I would have been done in thirty minutes if it weren’t for some pesky trim I wrested with. These complement our new Moryde 4step solid steps very nicely and make a great pair. Excellent product!

This is a good safe rail that extends to the bottom step. I put it on both 4 step and 3 step entries. Its worth the money.
