• I spoke with my contact at Fulton about the overall dimensions of the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch, # FT2605Z0301. It is 9-1/2 inches wide by 7-1/8 inches tall by 9-3/4 inches long. This does not include the 10 inch handle. This winch can only be used with a strap, which is included. If you need a winch that can be used with a cable, I recommend the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch - Cable Only, # FT26250301, and cable # FWC7500100. This winch is the same series

• How to Replace the Strap on the Fulton Trailer Winch # FT2605Z0301
  
• Look for the bolt on in the drum on your Fulton Winch, # FT2605Z0301, that is closest to the center of the drum. The bolt and nut that came with the winch use this hole. You will want to have the strap with the sewed side down. Run the bolt through the first hole, only slightly, then through the loop in the strap, and then out the other side of the drum. • I contacted our representative at Fulton about the item you selected, Fulton Trailer Winch # FT2605Z0301. He informed me that when reeling the winch, there should be a clicking noise. He informed me that as long as you are hearing the clicking noise you should be able to release the handle without the line reeling back out. This winch does have the pawl that you are referencing. • First, we do have the Shelby winch, # 5460, if you want to replace it with another of the same model. If you need a strap to go with it, use # DL24249. In order to determine if the Fulton winch, # FT2605Z0301, will mount in the same location as the Shelby winch, you will need to look at the mounting pattern of the Shelby winch and compare it to the mounting hole pattern of the Fulton winch.
