  • Recommended Replacement for Fulton XLT1401 Trailer Winch
In order to replace the Fulton XLT1401 Trailer Winch I recommend using the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch part # FW20000301 which will actually be an upgrade for you. The added weight capacity is going to put less stress on the winch which in turn improves longevity. This winch also has an adjustable length handle for ergonomics, fully enclosed shell for durability, and an easy to use pawl. I have attached a review video for you as well.

  • Does Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch Have Adapter Plate for Mounting
The Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch # FW20000301 does not have any kind of adapter plate to allow you to mount it to a different bolt pattern. You will have to drill new holes if you want to use this winch. I attached a diagram below with the mounting bolt pattern.

  • Can The Fulton F2 Trailer Winch Replace The Dutton-Lainson DL1802A Trailer Winch
Hey Dan, Yes, the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch # FW20000301 would have a similar mounting pattern and be a great replacement for your Dutton-Lainson DL1802A winch. It has a slightly higher capacity at 2,000lbs and comes with an adjustable handle to maximize performance.

  • What Is Different Between the 1,600LB and 2,000LB Fulton F2 Winches?
The 1,600LB # FW16000101 and 2,000LB # FW20000301 Fulton F2 winches have a lot of different components which allows the 2,000lb winch to be stronger. The case, internal components, and handles are different between these winches. The top cover is the only part I see which is used on both winches.

  • How To Replace a Knot Autoflex Winch and Bow Roller Assembly On a Boat Trailer
I do have a solution for you but we don't offer any integrated winch and bow roller setups like the Knot Autoflex. Therefore, you'd have to purchase a winch stand assembly like the CE Smith Winch Stand part # CE31013G which bolts onto the tongue and allows you to mount a winch like the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch part # FW20000301 and bow roller like the Bow Roller Assembly part # YR300B-325B when using the CE Smith Bow Roller Bracket for Winch Stands part # CE31005PG. • Can Strap Of Fulton F2 Trailer Winch FW20000301 Come From Bottom Of Drum?
That can be done. I reached out to my contact at Fulton and the Fulton F2 Trailer Winch # FW20000301 you were looking at can have the winch installed so that the strap is coming off of the bottom of the drum. Keep in mind that this will require you to spin the winch handle the opposite direction and will cause the switches to be reversed. I included a video of the # FW20000301 for you to take a look at.

  • Comparing Fulton F2 and XLT Winches
I would easily recommend the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch with Adjustable Handle - 2,000 lbs # FW20000301 or the Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Heavy Duty 20' Strap - Zinc - 2,600 lbs # F142418 as a replacement for your application. The F2 is more designed for comfort and ease of use with it's ergonomic shaped handle that can be adjusted to length and left or right handed and lighter capacity whereas the XLT is a bit more robust and has a higher capacity. Neither has...

  • Will Fulton F2 Trailer Winch FW20000301 Be Exact Replacement For Fulton XLT 1401 Trailer Winch?
It sure will! The Fulton XLT 1401 winch currently on your bolt trailer uses the industry standard bolt spacing, which the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch with Adjustable Handle - 2,000 lbs # FW20000301 also uses. This is 2-1/4" center to center of the lower two mounting holes, and 4-1/2" from the center of the upper bolt hole to the center of either two lower bolt hole as shown in the included diagram. I included a video of the # FW20000301 for you to take a look at.

The Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch # FW16000101 referenced in your question has base dimensions, where it contacts the mounting location, of 3-3/8 inches by 6-3/16 inches. It features the industry standard bolt pattern, just like the 2,000 pound # FW20000301, that will allow the winch to be installed on almost any trailer. • Recommended Replacement Winch for Fulton XLT1401
To replace your old Fulton XLT1401 Trailer Winch I recommend using the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch part # FW20000301. This winch has a bit higher weight capacity than the XLT1401, so it's going to put less stress on the winch and make it last longer; at the end of the day, it's actually a bit of an upgrade. I've linked a short review video of this winch for you to check out.

The left hand version of the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish part # DL14927 is Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish - Left Side Handle part # DL16331. The capacity of the left hand winch DL16331 is a bit lower at 1,200 lbs. This is the closest option we have available with a left handle. The parts you need for your older Fulton XLT1401 are no longer available so you will want to replace your winch. While I'm sure this isn't what you were wanting to hear, I will give you a great replacement option to consider. The # FW32000101 winch from Fulton does not have a left-hand and right-hand feature. The handle will only fit on one side of the winch and cannot be moved to the other side. • Recommended Marine Hand Winch For 3000-Lb Boat
I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to choose the correct winch for a boat trailer. Here is what the article says: Finding the Right Capacity Winch for your Boat Trailer. Boat-size-to-winch capacity is generally 2 to 1 With good rollers and short winching distances, increase the ratio to 3 to 1 With wooden bunks and long winching distances, reduce the ratio to 1 to 1 For example, a 2,200-lb boat generally requires a 1,100-lb winch. If the same boat were winched...

  • Can the Fulton F2 2K Trailer Winch Handle a 1,800 Pound Boat
The gear ratio for Fulton F2 winch # FW20000301 is 5.1:1. The capacity of the winch at 2,000 pounds is enough to pull the 1,800 pound boat even in the worst conditions (those being a long winching distance, steep incline, wooden bunk are all of the above). If you have roller bunks the ratio for winch capacity could increase to 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1 in some cases. That would mean that in certain conditions the winch can handle a boat up to 6,000 pounds. But for a steep incline and wooden/carpeted...

  • How to Choose a Hand Winch for a Tow Dolly
In order to choose the correct winch for your application, you would need to know both the weight of the vehicle and degree of the incline the winch must overcome to pull the vehicle onto the dolly. On level ground, a winch can pull 10 times its capacity if the load is rolling. For example, a winch rated at 1,600 lbs while pulling a rolling load can handle up to 16,000 lbs. However, while pulling that same load up a 17 degree incline, the winch's capacity is then reduced to 4,176 lbs. I...

  • Winch Recommendation for a Boat Trailer that had a 2,000 lb Winch Installed
Roller bunks actually will make winching easier than carpeted bunks, so if a 2,000 lb capacity winch was used before it would work even easier with your roller bunks. That being said the Fulton XLT Winch part # F142425 would be a great choice that would have more than enough capacity. If you wanted to go with a 2,000 lb winch that is similar you would want the Fulton F2 Winch part # FW20000301. Either winch would work great. I attached review videos for both winches plus an FAQ article...

The Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch, # FW20000301, that you mentioned is a great option and receives very favorable customer reviews. As for the jack, as long as your existing Fulton jack pivots on a single bolt, you could use the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack, # FXP15W, as a replacement.
