I just received my new winch. Free shipping and I am surprised how quickly it arrived and how easy it was to install!! This is the third time I have ordered from them, and they have just about everything one can need for their trailer, and they provide great service and technical information. This winch has no exposed springs and the lock mechanism is greatly improved and looks great!

I just installed the new bow roller and boat winch and am very pleased. The new Fulton F2 and C.E. Smith roller assembly went on easier than the old parts came off. I’m also very happy with the very clean look, they really dress up my Nitro bass boat better than the original parts. I am already making plans for more upgrades after seeing the results today. Thank you etrailer for your great service and great communication.

Upgraded my winch on my boat trailer, went with a heavier one than the one that came with trailer. Absolutely one of the best winches I’ve used. I ordered the winch late on a Saturday night and received it four days later on Wednesday, fantastic service, I’ll be glad to use etrailer again .

Perfect upgrade for anyone needed a new winch for an old trailer or if you just need more power to yank your flat bottom up off a steep river bank!

I received my order today and have installed my new winch. I like all of the features of this product. Sometimes buying online does not give us the confidence that seeing in person before buying can do. I was very satisfied with this product. When you do a lot of towing of various pieces of equipment like I do it is great to know that I can get what I need to keep it all rolling. Etrailer always has what I need and gets it to me quick.

This is my second order from etrailer. Both were filled quickly and arrived as expected. In both cases the etrailer replacement model recommendation and video were invaluable. The new wench was easy to install despite minimal manufacturer installation instructions.

Used the new winch today. Wow so much easier to use and pull a 19 foot bass boat up tight against the bow stop. Dual cams are the best! This was the best price from etrailer and delivered fast. Love this winch!

I will not install the products on my trailer for a few weeks and due to restoration of my boat it will be a few months before I use the Items. Everything looks as I expected and and hope I am satisfied with how they function. My main concern was the packing and shipping of the Items. Before opening the box, I didn’t know if any of the Items would be damaged or not. The outside of the box was mashed in at a couple of places, the jack handle was bursted through the box and the end was sticking out. After, opening the box, the winch box was mashed in. I didn’t see any damage to anything.

Winch stripped out on my 20' Skeeter. Replaced it with this FW2. Easy to install and is a solid upgrade from the one that came with the trailer. Ordered on a Saturday evening and was delivered Wednesday afternoon. Have ordered from etrailer before and as usual, this was a great transaction.

Winch has exceeded expectations. Top build quality and ergonically well conceived. The mechanical action works as it should and the front actuated directional selector is perfectly located. Highly recommend this robust product; well done Fulton!

  • Recommended Replacement Winch for Fulton XLT1401
To replace your old Fulton XLT1401 Trailer Winch I recommend using the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch part # FW20000301. This winch has a bit higher weight capacity than the XLT1401, so it's going to put less stress on the winch and make it last longer; at the end of the day, it's actually a bit of an upgrade. I've linked a short review video of this winch for you to check out.

  • Replacing Fulton XLT 1401 Winch With New Upgraded Boat Winch
The parts you need for your older Fulton XLT1401 are no longer available so you will want to replace your winch. While I'm sure this isn't what you were wanting to hear, I will give you a great replacement option to consider. Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch with Adjustable Handle - 2,000 lbs # FW20000301 is a very popular upgrade which is rated for 2,000lbs. This winch allows the cable to retract slowly, instead of free-spooling like some other winches on the market. I attached a...

You will need to replace the entire winch because that ratchet pawl is no longer available and he said no other kit will work. I recommend the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch with Adjustable Handle - 2,000 lbs # FW20000301 or the Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Heavy Duty 20' Strap - Zinc - 2,600 lbs # F142418 as a replacement. • Will Fulton F2 Trailer Winch FW20000301 Be Exact Replacement For Fulton XLT 1401 Trailer Winch?
It sure will! The Fulton XLT 1401 winch currently on your bolt trailer uses the industry standard bolt spacing, which the Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch with Adjustable Handle - 2,000 lbs # FW20000301 also uses. This is 2-1/4" center to center of the lower two mounting holes, and 4-1/2" from the center of the upper bolt hole to the center of either two lower bolt hole as shown in the included diagram. I included a video of the # FW20000301 for you to take a look at.

  • Can the Fulton F2 2K Trailer Winch Handle a 1,800 Pound Boat
The gear ratio for Fulton F2 winch # FW20000301 is 5.1:1. The capacity of the winch at 2,000 pounds is enough to pull the 1,800 pound boat even in the worst conditions (those being a long winching distance, steep incline, wooden bunk are all of the above). If you have roller bunks the ratio for winch capacity could increase to 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1 in some cases. That would mean that in certain conditions the winch can handle a boat up to 6,000 pounds. But for a steep incline and wooden/carpeted...

  • How to Choose a Hand Winch for a Tow Dolly
In order to choose the correct winch for your application, you would need to know both the weight of the vehicle and degree of the incline the winch must overcome to pull the vehicle onto the dolly. On level ground, a winch can pull 10 times its capacity if the load is rolling. For example, a winch rated at 1,600 lbs while pulling a rolling load can handle up to 16,000 lbs. However, while pulling that same load up a 17 degree incline, the winch's capacity is then reduced to 4,176 lbs. I...

You can use it for controlled loads/unloads, but this winch is designed as a pulling winch, not for lifting, and is not meant to suspend loads.
