Where to Find The Axle Serial Number On Dexter Axles Manufactured After April 2001?

Question:
Where would an ID be located on a Dexter Axle

On Dexter axles manufactured after April 2001 you will be able to find the serial number stamped on the rear portion of the axle tube approximately 18" from the passenger side hub. Depending on the condition of the axle you may need some chalk to better see the numbers on the tube. You may also find a sticker on the center of the rear portion of the tube. If this is still attached and legible you will need to find the SN# on the tag. With this information we can determine exactly what parts were installed on your axle from the factory to verify any replacement parts you may need.
If you have an older axle you will need to measure the parts or find any identifying numbers stamped on the parts such as the brake assembly to verify a correct replacement.

I need to replace my axle as the spindle got damaged during bearing failure. I don't need the brake parts only the axle - I have a 7000# Dexter axle - S/N is 132154692, Dexter # 5548306 I am looking to replace this axel in next 10 days - so if not available from Dexter can you cross to another brand.
