Flat Tow Parts for 2010 Jeep Liberty

I would like to thank MICHAEL R. for his help so far but i would like to ask a few other questions on this matter. before i place a order My motor home is a HOLIDAY RAMBLER 40 PBD SCEPTER 2003 with air brakes You said that i needed the base plate #521433-1 for my 2010 jeep and the wiring hookup #RM15267 and Air force 1 braking system SM99243 my question is are there any other items i need to get this car hooked to my motor home ? In looking through your site i found some other items but i,m not sure if they are needed. 1. A battery charge line kit #156-25 2.Automatic battery disconnect # RM-766 3. Stop light switch kit # RM-751430 I would like to order everything i need in one order and again thank you so much for all your help

The Crossbars you identify appear to be Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit, # 3136-1. This fits a Saturn Ion. For your 2010 Jeep Liberty, yes you are correct that you need the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, # 521433-1 and this will match to your Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520.

For wiring I suggest the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15267.

If you need supplemental braking, I suggest the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System, # SM99251. Or, if your motorhome has air brakes, Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243.

You may also need a high-low adapter in order to keep your 2010 Jeep Liberty level, and I've added a link to a help article which shows you how to determine if you need an adapter, as well as a link to our selection of adapters.

Thank you, glad to know that our teams response has been helpful for you, this is why we are here, the feedback is appreciated. There is a minimum of 5 things needed to safely flat tow, previously addressed and listed below. 1) A base plate kit installed on your toad 2) A tow bar to connect your toad to your RV 3) Safety cables in case the tow bar fails 4) Wiring to synchronize your RV’s and toad’s lights 5) A supplemental braking system to synchronize your RV’s and toad’s brakes Additional components are always available to adapt or enhance flat tow equipment. The Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, # RM-156-25 is a perfect example. Many choose to add this, and it is a great enhancement to have. The purpose of the charge line kit is to trickle charge/maintain your battery during flat towing. IF your braking system uses towed vehicle battery power to operate, this will help to maintain the charge when in tow. Some choose to start the engine every few hundred miles and idle while they take a break from driving or are refueling the motorhome and address recharging the battery this way instead. I was unaware of what motorhome you had in our first conversation, that is why I suggested the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System, # SM99251. Or, if your motorhome has air brakes, the Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243. Since I now know you have a Holiday Rambler with air brakes, I definitely suggest the Air Force One Supplemental Braking System and we just happen to have an installation video of this product being installed on a 2009 Jeep Liberty. It is linked below for you to view. This will walk you through the entire installation process. With this you will not need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, # RM-156-25 as you will have very minimal power draw. However, having the additional component is a nice enhancement at minimal cost when already installing the supplemental braking system. For peace of mind about not having a drained battery after towing, please consider installing this component even though it is not a "needed" item. Please note that this does require the RV's plug to have a charge line pin that is "hot" to provide that power from the plug connection to the towed. Most/many motorhomes come from the factory with this pin already wired. If your motorhome is then you are good-to-go. However, if not, you can use the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes, # RM-156-75. This charge line connects to the battery in your RV to the 6-way or 7-way plug at the rear of your RV, allowing up to 15 amps to be transferred to your towed vehicle's battery. The Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit, # RM-751430 is an enhancement that provides an additional visual indicator of supplemental brake activation. The Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243, has an LED coach notification system that illuminates when the towed vehicle's brakes are applied. Please note that this is identified in the linked installation video (near the beginning of video, 1:28 elapsed). There is a second Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System with a wireless coachlink feature available too. This is part number # DM26VR and is the same supplemental braking system but with the added feature of an additional component in the coach itself that provides an audible and visual indicator when brakes are applied. Please note the linked help articles, product review and installation videos linked below. My suggestion, for a complete flat tow set-up for your Holiday Rambler with air brakes and your 2010 Jeep Liberty is listed below. The only addtional item that is not listed is the high/low adaptor that you may or may not need but I included a help article that I hope you find valuable to assisting you in identifying.
