Question:
Im looking for a base plate for a 2013 Ford Edge, NON ecoboost, NO adaptive cruise control. Does Roadmaster make a EZ product for this vehicle? I dont want square tube with locking pins and I DONT want a cross-bar to attach the tow bar to. Thank you.

For your 2013 Ford Edge we have 2 different options for a base plate kit.
One is the Roadmaster XL # 4408-1 and the other is from Blue Ox # BX2628. The both are compatible with the non-EcoBoost without Adaptive Cruise Control. The difference between these options is that they install slightly different and the removable draw bars have a different design.
The Roadmaster XL # 4408-1 will work great with the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and 6K Coild Safety Cables # RM-643. If you choose to go with the Blue Ox # BX2628 the you will need to use the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 instead which comes with safety cables.
Keep in mind that for a complete flat towing setup you will also need vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and most likely a high-low adapter.
Since you will need to keep your key in the accessory position while flat towing I recommend going with the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 for tow bar wiring. You can then install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to the middle pin of the 6-Way connector on your Edge to keep your battery charged. You will also need to install the Brake Light Relay Kit # RM-88400, and if your Edge has separate lighting you will also need to install the Converter # 118158 and 2 additional Diodes # RM-792.
The SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 is one of the best ones that w currently have to offer and I highly recommend using it. Once installed it is simply a matter of flipping a switch for the system to be ready for flat towing. It installs in such a way that you hardly notice it is there when you are not flat towing.
Some flat towing setups require the use of a high-low adapter so that everything is level. I have attached a link to our selection of high-low adapters as well as a helpful article on how to choose the correct one for your application.
I have attached some installation videos you can check out.
Be sure to follow any specific instructions laid out in your owner's manual for flat towing.
