If you like a clean, stock look when you’re not towing, this setup keeps things tidy. The hidden design means the brackets don’t stick out past the front end, and the removable arms twist out in seconds once you’re parked. Plug in the receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out of the sockets and leave everything looking finished and smooth.

Connecting is simple and fast. Each arm slides into place, rotates to lock, and secures with a pull pin—no fumbling or tools needed. When you’re done towing, pulling the pin and twisting to release makes removal just as easy. That straightforward mechanism saves time whether you’re setting up in your driveway or breaking down at a campsite.

This base plate bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. The sturdy steel construction and precision lugs are designed to spread towing forces evenly, helping reduce stress on your suspension during long hauls. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion so it stays solid mile after mile.
Already have a tow bar you like? This base plate works directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection. It can also be adapted for use with Roadmaster tow bars using adapter # RM-031 or # RM-031-5, or with Demco tow bars using adapter # DM9523041 (sold separately). Integrated mounting points let you attach an electrical connector bracket neatly up front so wiring stays organized and ready when you are.
You don’t need welding gear or special tools for this one. The kit includes all mounting hardware for a secure bolt-on fit that lines up to your frame. The installation spreads out over a few hours if you’re handy, and once fitted, it’s ready for years of reliable towing performance without extra fabrication or rework.

Super high quality baseplate for towing by Blue Ox. Instructions, videos, shipping (one day!) and overall experience was awesome. A bit pricey but their quality and the additional support by E Trailer cannot be beat! BTW (E Trailer) the baseplate fits three different Jeep configurations but did not call out the Recon package. After looking at other brands which showed there's to fit the 3 variations AND the Recon, I figured it would fit and it DID. You should definitely upgrade to include the Recon Edition.
lways great to shop at etrailer, especially the tech experts. Royce did an awesome job with our order. Everything fit perfectly and the help video provided the guidance I needed.
We installed the baseplate on our 2023 Encore GX AWD as well as the light harness and breakaway switch. A couple of items were incorrect but Royce corrected the issues with no problems.
Thanks again etrailer!
2019 Ford Ranger baseplate worked and fitted fine for me. 73 yrs old took me a couple hours but took many breaks. Younger could do it less than hour I'm sure.
Also works fine with my Blue Ox tow bar.
Great service!
Exactly what we ordered. Good quality.
Very good service and delivery.
Works great!
Easy to install. Looks as indicated in pics.
haven't towed with it yet, from past experience the
products are good.
Had to do some modifications because it was to tight against the condenser line.
Other than that, everything was fine.
The part was delivered as promised. Installation was accomplished in 2 1/2 hours with the help of two buddies. The printed instructions were not the best but the video was fantastic!! I would recommend trailer to everyone. The staff answered all questions and were very helpful. Thanks!!
Etrailer is the best, they give you a video of installing this exact unit on your car. They do this for all tow cars I have ever had. This is the best company I have ever dealt with. The best customer service which is want we need in internet sales. Every person I have talked with over the years for several past purchases are polite, very knowledgeable, and eager to help solve your problem. This company is unequaled in service and having items in stock I need.
Awesome awesome awesome
Installed myself....good how to video on U-tube. Just take your time.
We bought everything to flat tow my wife’s Ford Edge from etrailer, and just my experience with etrailer before everything was as described and their advise was good also. Have towed over the Rockies and back TN and smaller trips too without issue.
Works really well, instalation was a snap. Two thumbs up!
Had the Blue Ox base plate installed on my 2013 Ford Edge, towing with 40 Ft Diesel Motor-home. Have taken several trips, very easy to use, product works great! I really like the entire Blue Ox towing system.
Videos did a great job of educating me for this install. Have done this before on a different car. Product and service could not have been better.
Great service and product. etrailer staff always make sure you order the correct parts for your application, with all the necessary additional parts. This is a tow bar plate for our 2011 Ford Edge. We are off on another great adventure in our motorhome Thanh’s to etrailer.

Great Customer Aervice
Pretty straight forward install. It took me about five hours. I used both the written instructions and also used the 21 minute video found on the etrailer site. Really happy with the results.
I watched the video and installed it myself. I had to buy a hole saw, but other than that I had all the tools. It took about 3.5 hours. The only odd thing is the Edge hook up is very high. I had to purchase a 6 inch riser class III hitch.
Base bar bend dimension tolerance is OK. Hole true position tolerances are pretty poor relative to the frame holes. The steel is powder coated black, but they didn't bother to clean the weld spatter off before painting, and lots of sharp little bumps cut your hands as you try to fit the bar.
The instructions are mediocre and the photographs are terrible. This is the worst instruction set photographs I have ever come across. They give you little bad bat black and white one and 1/2 x 2 inch photographs on the little booklet pages. Paragraphs are poorly written for referencing hard to see photographs. Correct and professional instruction sets should have exploded diagrams not photographs the step-by-step instructions are overly detailed for some things and totally leave out critical instructions. For example, what do you do when your clearance to the back face of the hole is much smaller than the bolt length than therefore you have to pry the hell out of the radiator support. I ended up cracking the radiator support doing this. The booklet should be twice as big, contain good diagrams, and be an 8 1/2 x 11 page in color. So you can actually figure out what it is. I stared at some of these pictures for five minutes each.
I tell you, were it not for having a lot invested in my motorhome, this job alone would make me consider selling it to not have to tow the car. For the price you pay on this bar I would've expected better.
The job took me most of a day because I had to do it over and over again. Because of the bad instructions.

I would give it 5 stars, if not for the adjustments i had to make to the top bolt holes so the frame side bolt holes would line up. This took me several hours more to get the base plate mounted. It looked like the base plate drivers side upper flange was off about 3 degrees and this little bit of mis-alignment drove me nuts. So after 4 hrs i have it mounted and cables installed. I still have to run all the electrical, so the car is still blown apart.
I WAS pleasantly surprised at how easy the front fascia came off the car. HATS OFF to the etrailer videos, I watched them a few times and it gave me a great deal of confidence. I also was able to install the side frame bolts without drilling the large holes in the outer frame rail. I simply used a ratchet and inserted it through the front of the frame enlarged cut out
