The drawbars, or front arms, on the EZ series base plate kit are supremely easy to mount and remove. Just insert them into the brackets and twist to lock them in place. To remove, simply twist the arms back and pull them out. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Wiring and Other Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2013 Ford Edge
We carry several lighting options for the 2013 Ford Edge. I have included a link to them for you to view. A brake light relay may be required depending on the system you choose. A kit that bypasses the vehicle wiring like a magnetic kit # RM-2120 will not require a brake light relay. Any other system will require the brake light relay # RM-88400. You will also want to consult the vehicle owners manual for additional information on flat towing the vehicle. In the research I did I found...

  • Can 2014 Ford Edge be Flat Towed with All 4 Wheels on the Ground
I checked the owners manual for your 2014 Ford Edge and it looks like as long as your vehicle has one of the V6 engines it can be flat towed with all four wheels on the ground. If you have a 4 cylinder you would need to use a tow dolly. To flat tow your vehicle you will need to first start with a base plate kit. If you have adaptive cruise control you would want the part # 524426-1, without adaptive cruise control you would want part # 4408-1. In addition to the base plates, you will...

  • Flat Towing 2014 Ford Edge Limited
According to the owner's manual of your 2014 Ford Edge, your vehicle can only be flat towed if you have a 3.5L or 3.7L 6-cylinder engine. If you have a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, you need to use a tow dolly. If you do have a 6-cylinder engine and are flat towing your vehicle, the instructions for putting your transmission in neutral are as follows: - Release the parking brake. - Place the transmission in position N. - Place the ignition in the accessory position. I contacted Ford to make...

  • Base Plate Kit Recommendation for 2014 Ford Edge with Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar
Hey Carlos, we have just what you need with the Roadmaster base plate kit part # 4408-1 which is compatible with the Roadmaster Sterling # RM-576 you have now. Do you still have the crossbar with your tow bar? You will need it with this base plate kit. For lighting/safety cables, locks, and covers for the tow bar we have the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain kit part # RM-9243-1 which comes with all of that as one part number. The diode kit that comes with this allows you to splice into the...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2011 Ford Edge with Roadmaster Base Plate Kit
Since you have a base plate kit installed on your 2011 Ford Edge part # 524426-1 you'll need a few more components and you'll be good to flat tow the vehicle. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon All Terain, # RM-522. This has non-binding arms which makes the setup very easy to connect/disconnect. For lighting/safety cables,...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2011 Ford Edge with Roadmaster Blackhawk Tow Bar
The Roadmaster Blackhawk Tow Bar part # RM-422 can definitely be used to flat tow your 2011 Ford Edge. The correct base plate you'll need is the # 4408-1 if you do not have adaptive cruise control or part # 524426-1 for if you do have adaptive cruise control. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice...

  • Is Supplemental Brake System Required When Flat-Towing 2014 Ford Edge
A supplemental brake system is one of the five items you need when flat towing any vehicle. The brake system I recommend is the Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. It's one of the easiest systems to use after the initial install. You just flip a switch to activate it. If you do not have all of the equipment needed to flat-tow your Edge I will make some recommendations for you. For base plates I recommend part # 4408-1 if your vehicle does not have EcoBoost and does not have Adaptive Cruise...

  • Parts Recommendation to Flat Tow a 2014 Ford Edge
I checked the owners manual for your 2014 Ford Edge and under the recreational towing section there was no mention of needing to pull a fuse. Because of that I would not recommend you install the Roadmaster Fusemaster you have or pull any fuses. To flat tow your vehicle you will need to first start with a base plate kit. If you have adaptive cruise control you would want the part # 524426-1, without adaptive cruise control you would want part # 4408-1. In addition to the base plates,...

  • Roadmaster Base Plates for a 2011 Ford Edge Sport WITHOUT Adaptive Cruise Control
The Roadmaster EZ base plates # 524426-1 and the XL model, # 4408-1, use different receivers, which is that main crossbar the arms attach to. They are nearly identical but since the EZ model has not been tested or confirmed to fit your 2011 Ford Edge I cannot recommend it. The access to the pins for the XL base plates is different on every vehicle. You may find that they are easier to access on your Edge than on your Accord. I have linked a video showing installation of the XL base plates.

  • Is the Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Tow Bar Compatible with Base Plates for a 2011 Ford Edge
I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he stated that the Falcon Tow Bar 5250 is compatible with the XL Base Plates, # 4408-1, for the 2011 Ford Edge. Please note that the base plates will only work if the vehicle DOES NOT have adaptive cruise control. Adaptive cruise control uses a forward facing radar that detects vehicles in front of you and adjusts the cruise control speed so that the Edge remains at a safe distance from the vehicle in front. • Are Roadmaster EZ Style Base Plates Compatible with a Roadmaster Eagle 5000 Tow Bar 2011 Ford Edge
First, you will want to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if the vehicle can be towed and if there are any specific requirements to do so. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he confirmed that the EZ base plates, # 524426-1, are compatible with the Eagle 5000 tow bar.
