  • Qty: (2) Diodes
  • Reduces wiring hassles
  • Trouble free operation
  • Includes detailed wiring instructions
  • Maximum load is 85 amps per diode

Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Roadmaster Hy-Power Diodes (Qty 2)

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the ROADMASTER Hy-Power diode. Now, this will allow motor homes or RVs to power the lights on the tow vehicle without power feedback. The diodes allow electrical current to flow in one direction. So, that'd be from the motor home to the vehicle or to the car. This prevents any electrical feedback and the damage it may cause to the electrical components. This is available in a variety of quantities, so you can get a one pack, a two pack, three pack, or four pack. All options are available at etrailer.com.

For a one pack, use part number RM-790, for a two pack, use part number RM-792, for a three pack, use part number RM-793 and for a four pack, part number RM-794.The spade connectors allow for easy, trouble free, wiring connections. Also, on the back of the packaging, it has detailed wiring instructions, so that's really going to be helpful. So, when you get these, please do not discard the packaging because it has the nice wiring instructions on the back side. The aluminum heat sync helps prevent over heating. The self stick pad on the back allows for easy and secure mounting. Maximum load is 85 amps per diode and please note that four diodes are required for most applications, one for the left turn and break, one for the right turn and break and then two for the tail lights, one per side. That's going to do it for today's look at the ROADMASTER Hy-Power diode..

Fast shipping, Very Knowledgeable and reliable, A great company. Will buy from them again.

by:

Used on a trailer to add a strobe function on my existing trailer lights, and not backfeed to the truck. Has worked great for over a year now, in snow and rain it hasn’t failed.

by:

They work great

by:

I think you can do nothing better than give good customer service.
I spoke to Gwendolyn for the first time about a specific part that I urgently needed asap and received it the next day.
Thanks again
Mark

Good product with excellent service! I can now use my reverse lights as work lights without back feeding my truck. Works great to correct those who have a have a habit of driving behind you with high beams on....

by:

I purchase these to set up my toad (CR-V) with the Road master 7 to 6 wiring kit along with the 2 back into 3 wire module to allow for me the use the turn signal lights (Yellow) operate separately from the brake lights so that the toad lights all work as they were set up by the manufacturer. This way also allows you to avoid having to buy the brake light relay if your vehicle brake lights are energized by the mechanical function of your braking system. Your overall cost is relative and as stated all of your lights work instead of the typical stop/tail/turn signal bulb on each side.

still great looks and works professionally

by:

Can use these for allot more than just a towed vehicle. I used them for my loading lights on my trailer to help with backing the trailer at night. Just pulled reverse power wire from 7 pin to original cargo light wiring. Works great.

by:

1950 Spartan Royal Mansion. Thank you for your ongoing help and wide array of products!!!

by:

I bought these diodes to replace two that the connectors corroded to the point the taillights on the towed vehicle wouldn’t work. The old ones lasted 6-7 years which is pretty good. When I hook up the new ones I’m going to put some waterproofing over the connectors.

by:

Product worked as advertised tail lights on my Jeep work great when towing with my RV.
Diode packaging has helpful wiring diagrams on back.

by:

Bought these diodes formy license plate lights on my toad. The wiring kits only come with 4 diodes which would not allow the license plate lights to be light when towing.

by:

I was very impressed with the trailer.com… Not only was the ordering very simple and effective and done in less than a few minutes I received the package in a very timely manner! Also I called the office spoke with Michelle and got the best customer service possible with an additional order… I will highly recommend etrailer.com to all of my friends!

by:

Easy to install and worked as advertised. Installed 6 diodes and Curt inverter inside tail lights vs. inside of vehicle having to remove panels. Saved hours of work.

by:

I just installed them and they work as they should. I was isolating lighting on an equipment trailer for a brake and turn circuit. Now it does not backfeed.

by:

Easy to install them in my old jeep wrangler for the flat towing!

by:

I haven't installed the product yet, but it was exactly what I needed. Diodes of this type are not the easiest thing to find. Etrailer had them, and not only is their website laid out well, but the service and shipping were very fast.

by:

Product worked exactly as expected. Very clear and detailed instructions. Great service and shipping as usual from e-trailer.

by:

I am very happy with the product, I installed them and now my lights work great.
I was very please with my customer service rep. she knew her product line and worked with me to fix my problem. Thanks

by:

Perfect for connecting the tail lights from my RV to my car on the car dolly.

by:

Product as advertised. Must wrap with tape and use dialectic grease to prevent failure of this part. Other then my haphazard initial wrapping, the product worked very well.

by:

Exact product needed. Prompt shipping. Fair price. Package included good application instructions.

by:

I needed these to wire a TOAD (tow vehicle). They have worked as advertised.

The plus is that they are quality products.

The con is that they are not cheap.

Ron

  • How To Get New Arms For A Baseplate On A Used 2020 Jeep Wrangler
I believe you have Roadmaster baseplates like # RM-521453-5 instead since the Curt baseplate that's confirmed to fit your 2020 Jeep Wrangler is a different style than what you have pictured. You best bet to confirm would be to remove the underbelly skid plate to get a better look at them to confirm. If they are Roadmaster branded then you'll need to fill out the form under the Installation Details on # RM-ARMS, which I've also attached below and send it in to Roadmaster to get the correct...

  • Recommended Tow Bar Wiring Kit For Flat Towing A 2021 Ford Bronco
While we don't have a simple plug-and-play tow bar wiring kit for your 2021 Ford Bronco we do have the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Bronco's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. The install isn't too complicated, but you will need to cut and splice some wires to connect the diodes and wiring to the 6-pole socket. We don't have an installation video of this wiring harness on a Bronco...

We do indeed have a solution for the tow bar wiring for flat towing your 2021 Lincoln Nautilus. What you will need is a diode wiring kit from Roadmaster: - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Wire Hybrid Cord # RM-152-1676-7 This will give you the wiring, as well as the adapter cord which will allow you to plug into your motorhome's connector to activate the lighting functions on your Nautilus. • Compatible Base Plates For A 2022 Ford Bronco
No, the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars # RM-035-1 would not fit your 1-3/16" thick mounts so you would need to go with a standard base plate. If you have a Ford Performance Heavy Duty Modular Bumper then you'll want the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM92ZR. If you have a standard bumper you'll want the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU97XR instead. For the tow bar I recommend the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR if you are...

  • How Does Tow Vehicle with Separate Turn Signals from Stoplights Get Wired w Diodes for Flat Towing
A 4-way would not be able to carry a separate brake light from a turn signal but if you used a signal converter and a kit with additional diodes you could separate out the turn signals from the stoplights. For most people it's easiest to wire vehicles with separate turn signals from stoplights as a combined setup which is what I would do. This won't use the amber turn signals of your Mini at all but what is now the stoplight/running light bulbs would control all three circuits and would...

Roadmaster does not currently have a compatible adapter but Blue Ox does make an adapter that is compatible with an NSA Ready Brute Elite tow bar, part # BX88297. For your 2009 Honda CR-V you would need the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2246. This base plate will be compatible with the adapters referenced above and allow you to use a Ready Brute tow bar. The arms are removable to provide a clean unobtrusive look when not in use. To flat tow your CR-V you'll also need a tow bar wiring kit,...

As long as you are not exceeding the 85 amps at 12 volts per diode max load then you can definitely use the configuration in your diagram. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster who said that the connections are not watertight but the internal components are. You would either need to find a way to make the connections watertight (as you mentioned in your diagram) or simply wipe the connections off if you were to go off-road with your 2011 Jeep Wrangler and get the diode(s) wet. These XL series brackets are compatible with the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520. Part # HM56200 fits a Jeep Wrangler JK from 2017 and 2018 and part # HM56007 fits a Focus but it's the sedan model from 2012 to 2014. For tow bar wiring to activate the tail lights on your 2015 Ford Edge Titanium when flat towing it behind a motor home you have a few options. But since you are using a supplemental braking system I recommend using 6 diodes. First you would need the 4 diode kit, # RM-154, and then 2 additional diodes, # RM-792. To flat tow your 2017 Buick Envision, you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, supplemental braking system, wiring harness, and possibly high-low adapter. I have attached a wiring diagram below of how this installs.
