The Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System part # HM39524 is directly compatible with a 2019 Ford Edge. It connects directly to the battery so there won't be any issues if you have to disconnect the battery for towing. That said, you'd obviously need to attach the power and ground wires to the battery studs instead of the cables which run to the power distribution center since these will be removed or power cut to them.

In order to complete your flat-towing setup you'll need the following: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX2677 Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar part # BX7380 Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 In regards to the battery being disconnected, this will need to be done manually as the automatic battery disconnect offered from Roadmaster will not work on this vehicle. The Roadmaster Battery Charge Line part # RM-156-25 is not required though can be used to provide better peace of mind.
