Today we're going to be taking a look at part number MC25AB. This is the Optronics Sealed Beehive Amber Trailer Clearance or Side-Marker Light. The Amber Beehive Light is going to function as a clearance or side-marker light. It can also function as a rear-tracking light. This is a PC-rated light, so it can function as both a clearance and side-marker when mounted at at forty-five degree angle. It's going to feature a sealed, waterproof, polycarbonate housing and lens.

It's going to contain one heavy-duty, long-life bulb. That bulb is an incandescent bulb. This is Department of Transportation compliant as well as SAE compliant. Here on the back side, you can see the two-prong connection point that's going to let us know that it's designed to accept the industry-standard, two-prong plug. That item is going to be sold separately. If you don't already have one, you can find one here on our website.

With this light you have multiple mounting options. We do recommend using a mounting grommet. That's going to be sold separately, but it can be found here on our website as well. Taking a look at the measurements real quick, it's going to give us a diameter here at the base of right at two inches. It's going to give us an overall depth, just the lens portion we're looking at one and three quarters of an inch. If we measure to the back of the housing, it's going to be a little bit closer, maybe one and fifteen sixteenths of an inch, right in that area.

From this point here to this point here, it gives us a depth of one and three quarters of an inch. The power draw for this light is 0.2 amps at 12.8 volts. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to our actual power source. That way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Again, it is designed to accept the industry-standard, two-prong plug. That's what I have connected today, so we'll just take that, place it into the connection port that's here on the back and give it a good push for a nice, tight seal.

You can see here that the light sends out a really nice, consistent signal. The design of the lens really does allow a lot of light to come through and be distributed pretty evenly. This is an amber light, beehive design. Again, it's going to function as a clearance, side-marker or rear-tracking light. That's going to do it for today's review of part number MC25AB.
