Versatile E-Bike Rack for Your RV

Swagman E-Spec

5th Wheels, motorhomes, and travel trailers have different suspensions than standard commuter vehicles. The Swagman E-Spec is designed to handle the extra bounce and sway that results from being placed further away from your vehicle's rear axle. It also gives your bikes 5" higher clearance than most other RV-rated platform racks. The E-Spec is constructed with reinforced steel, so it will easily carry 2 e-bikes that weigh up to 70 lbs each. But it's not just for your RV. You can also install it in the 2" hitch on your car, truck, or SUV.

Padded, Ratcheting Hooks

Padded Locking Hooks

The E-Spec's mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.

Sliding Wheel Cradles

Adjustable Wheel Trays

The wheel cradles slide to accommodate bikes with tires up to 5". Hand knobs let you release the cradles to slide along the bike tray and adjust for your specific bike lengths. Each cradle has a ratcheting strap so you can secure your bikes' wheels during transport.

Folding Design

Swagman E-Spec Folding DesignSwagman E-Spec Folding Design

If you're using the rack on a passenger vehicle and want the ability to fold it up for storage, you can remove the RV bolt at the back of the hitch bar assembly and replace it with the included pin and clip. In this configuration, you can fold the rack up when you aren't carrying bikes. This means you don't have to remove the rack to park in small lots at the trail head or in cramped parking garages. You must re-install the RV bolt to use the rack on your RV again.

Swagman E-Spec Folding Design

Whether on an RV or a passenger vehicle, you don't have to remove the rack for rear cargo area access. With your bikes unloaded, just pull up the spring-loaded release lever and fold the mast down.

Complete Security

Threaded Locking Hitch Pin

The ratcheting hooks have lock cores in the release buttons so you can secure your bikes to the rack. Simply slide the hooks over your bikes' top tubes until they click and lock them in place. There is also a keyed-alike locking hitch pin that secures the rack to your vehicle.

Package here early. Great customer service. Highly recommend this company

by:

Easy to assemble. Not too heavy for se nior.

by:

This is exactly what I wanted! Pretty easy setup and a solid rack. Great product!

by:

Everything went smoothly. I ordered it and a few days later it was delivered and now I have to f8nd the time to put it together.

by:

I am very pleased with my purchase, and the treatment I received to ensure this was the correct hitch for my vehicle.

by:

This rack handled my two rad e bikes well. Nice quality

by:

Have not transported a bike with it yet, but I want to say that the packaging was great and the instructions for assembly were easy to follow.

by:

etrailer is my first stop for my RV needs. The customer service is top notch and that is very important to me. The products are name brand and very well priced.

by:

Assembled easily. Seems strong but is heavy to lift into position on my motorhome. I believe it will work out fine.

by:

Provides a steady, sturdy ride for both of our Pedego Ebikes on the back of a 2017 Highlander.

by:

Every thing went well. I easily put it together and it is now mounted on my RV. I would prefer that you send me a tracking number generated by UPS if indeed, there was one. I prefer the extra detail they provide. The one you did make available to me was right on the money, it said delivery date was the 28th as you stated.

Thanks, Ray

by:

Went together smoothly. Have not used yet but our juiced scramblers fit perfectly. Only reason 4 stars is having to pay an extra $100 for the fat tire chocks and no use for the included small chocks.

by:

Heavy duty and heavy. Holds our bikes solidly with little movement. Very happy with our purchase.

by:

We bought new electric bikes and this bike rack works perfect with them. Very well made. Great product!

by:

Fits the bike well and easy to install. Like the Keyed alike receiver lock and lock for the bike arms.

by:

The quality of the bike rack is on point. No movement while driving. No plastic. Secures bikes really well and everything can be locked up for security. Awesome product!

by:

Received the bike rack today 06/28/19. Found it easy to assemble, but putting it on the receiver I found the receiver lock bolt was an odd size 7/8th to small and 15/16th to big. If your supply and of size bolt, please supply a wrench that works!

by:

This is very well built and the instructions were fairly straight forward. I haven't used it yet because we have step through bikes and I didn't know when buying that I would need two bar adapters to go between the neck and the seat to take the place of the upper tube. I have ordered them now but they may not come till May 25. It would have been nice to know. More people are getting the step through versions of E bikes.

by:

We used the chat room to determine
what product we needed, and they gave us exactually what we needed. This bike rack is tow trailer rated, and is very sturdy and fit our e-bikes perfectly. We received it two days from ordering. Assembly was extremely easy. Assembled it right in the truck receiver which made it super simple.

by:

The box was in bad shape when it arrived. So, I was a little worried that the product was banged up. Fortunately, it was not. It works just fine. The bolt that attaches the unit to the trailer hitch eliminates any slack and wobble...a great feature. Carries 2 "heavy" e-bikes with no problem.

by:

Nice firm rack. I have another different brand that is very wobbly. The pin, with lock, was too long for my truck. The trailer plug was too close to the receiver. The second shorter pin worked but didn’t fit the lock. A very easy machining on a lathe fixed that. This is the best rack I’ve ever owned and I’ve had a few.

by:

I am very satisfied with this bike rack. Our first trip was over 500 miles and it performed flawlessly. The reason for 4 and not five stars is that I tried to reverse the hooks 180' but the rumber protection was hitting the rachet. I will figure something out. I have a Rad Mini and a converted mountain bike and it handled the weight with no problem. p.s. Always remove your batteries for transporting.

by:

Great Quality and Value: We bought this rack to support his & hers electric bikes. Excellent investment. Safety secures. I don't worry about theft. Like the 1 key fits all locks concept. Would buy again but I think this will last a long time so won't need to.

by:

Great quality. Assembles easily. Holds bikes firmly.

  • Least Expensive Way to Carry Two 75 Lb Electric Bikes on 2016 Ram 1500
I have a suggestion for you, but unfortunately, we're not going to have a hitch mounted bike rack for electric bikes that's going to fit into your budget. Most of our e-bike racks max out at 60 lbs per bike, so your least expensive options are going to be either the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR, with a capacity of 70 lbs per bike, or the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR, with a capacity of 80 lbs per bike -- both over budget. If you're able to utilize your truck bed to carry your e-bikes,...

Thank you for all of the details about what you're looking for in a bike rack! You are correct that there is a lot of extra movement at the back of a travel trailer so only certain bike racks have been tested and approved for this use, but we have exactly what you're needing. The Swagman E-Spec # S94FR is best suited for your application and hits all of wants that you listed. The E-Spec comes with a 2" shank (that doesn't require an adapter) and can carry 2 bikes weighing in at 70 lbs...

Each of these trailer hitches have a maximum tongue weight of 350 lbs and a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs. For your travel trailer, I recommend the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663. This bike rack will allow you the bumper mount option by utilizing a compatible 2-inch receiver adapter. This is not confirmed to work with other bike racks but is designed for use on this hitch. I do have an option for you but the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender part # y02483 is only recommended for use with a bike rack that has a one piece 2" shank. Therefore, it would not be recommended to use the Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack part # TH903202 as it has a 1-1/4" to 2" shank adapter though it would physically fit. • Best 2 Bike Carrier for a Jayco 5th Wheel Trailer
For starters, bike racks used on the back of a 5th wheel trailer must be rated for this use as they will experience more stress in comparison to a bike rack used on the back of a vehicle. This has to do with the movement associated with the carrier being located father away from the rear axle. The best platform style bike rack we have for a 5th wheel trailer is the Swagman E-spec 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S94FR. The Escapee was actually designed specifically for use on the back of a...

  • What Bike Rack do You Recommend for Transporting an E-Bike on a Truck and Travel Trailer?
I have a solution for you. Any time you use any adapter like the MaxxTow Hitch Adapter # MT70032, you reduce the overall weight capacity of the hitch by 50%. With that being said, that will reduce your trailer's hitch to only 65 pounds of available tongue weight. Since the OnRamp # Y36FR already weighs 39.5 pounds, that leaves only 25.5 pounds of available tongue weight on the rack. This is extremely dangerous. We unfortunately do not recommend going this route even if you plan on further...

Hey Bob! The only way to know the answer to your question is to measure. The distance from the center of the # S94FR hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when folded down is 10" and when folded is 6-1/2". Compare this to the hitch on your travel trailer and Jeep Wrangler to see if you have clearance for the spare. This rack has a reenforced shank, making it suitable for RVs and travel trailers. It has a 70 lb per bike weight rating. Gordon, the difference between the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR and the Swagman Escapee # S39SR is that the E-Spec has a higher capacity, is about 10 lbs lighter, but will only work with a max wheelbase of 48" (compared to the Escapee which can handle up to 50") other than that, they are basically the same rack. Also, the Escapee # S39SR can have a ramp added on with # S59SR to make loading the bikes easier. Both of these racks will work with 5" wide tires, 2" hitches, and can be keyed alike.
