This hitch rack is perfect for carrying a heavy electric bike, or a bike with a carbon frame or custom paint job. And, if you want to use your hitch for towing, the removable adapter allows you to carry the rack on your roof rack crossbars.

Overall the rack is solid AF, fits my FJ cruise as expected and can still open rear with bike off. The reason for deducting 1 star is the tray could be deeper allowing the arms to effectively engage higher and the higher channel walls help stabilize fron wheel better. For 29x2.6" mtb tires and especially my 29x2.8" mtb will want to strap front wheel to downtube for added stability.
This rack is very good. But I knew that already. The reason for docking a star is that the hitch lock and cable lock on the rack are keyed differently. With identical-looking keys. This is just unnecessary confusion and yet another key to keep track of. There is no reason I can think of that these couldn't be matched. Ordered this from etrailer largely because it was in stock and shipping was free. Price on these items are obviously closely controlled by the manufacturer, so no price break here, same as everywhere else. Shipping was quick and I was kept well-informed.

A year in, still love the rack. Still wish it used a single key. Sometimes, after drives on unpaved roads, the piston shaft gets “gritty” and doesn’t operate as smoothly - but a good hosing-off when you get home fixes that. Its functionality, stiffness and hands-free deployment keep it the best in class for a single-bike rack.

Excellent bike rack. Bike is very secure and stable even on bumpy roads. I never worry about it coming loose. And the ramp makes it do easy to load a heavy e-bike. Highly recommend them both.
Easy to use! Bicycle is solid, does not swing. Easy to mount and remove bicycle.
Great rack, eTrailer has always been a good company to deal with. Purchased several accessories and racks, always fast shipping and great customer service.
The rack is excellent and very sturdy. Easy to assemble. Well made. I gave it a four star rating because, for some odd reason, Kuat does not include a 7 mm hex key which is necessary in order to remove the bump stop so as to install an e-bike ramp.
Trying to find a single carrier for a 65 pound bike took a while, it I couldn't find anything even near this rack.

Excellent rack. Quality build, great design, easy to use. No hindrance to back up camera view. Works with my fender. Will take a ramp for heavy e-bikes. The best part was etrailer's delivery. I needed the rack by July 3rd for a July 4th ride and Kuat was out of stock. But etrailer came through by delivering the rack in 3 days. Thank you etrailer!

After a year of use, I would raise my initial rating to 5 stars. The stability of the bike has been solid even on forest roads, real 4x4 may want to add a strap. Now using this on a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500, handlebar just clears window with a softtopper. With a hard cap would likely need a 6 hitch extender.
