Specs:
The Trail Rider platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 1 or 2 bicycles on the rear of your vehicle. This versatile rack is easy to use and it features locking frame hooks and adjustable wheel trays, so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. The included adapter sleeve enables the rack to fit both 1-1/4" and 2" hitch receivers. A locking, anti-rattle hitch pin tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the receiver.
Locking, Ratcheting Hooks
Constructed of rugged steel with a sleek black powder coat finish, the Trail Rider uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting hooks are easily adjusted along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The push buttons allow the hooks to slide up the ratcheting system to allow for bike removal. The lock cores keep the hooks from being moved up or down on the mast to deter theft. The hooks are different sizes and each one functions independently, meaning the rack can carry 2 bikes of the same or different heights.
Adjustable Wheel Holders
The wheel holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60", and you can adjust the wheel hoops by sliding them along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with hand knobs. Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps secure your bike's wheels to the holders.
If you want to carry a fat bike on the Trail Rider, you can replace the rack's wheel trays with specifically-designed fat bike cradles (HRSPRWH-F-HD - sold separately).
Folding Design
The Sport Rider's folding design makes it easy to store your bike rack. Simply fold up the arms for compact storage.
Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin
The Trail Rider easily installs in your hitch with the included locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and then tighten it down with the included tool. The pin also works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. The frame hook locks and the hitch lock are conveniently keyed alike.
A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.
Add-On Adapters
If you want to use the rack to transport a kid's bike with 16" or 18" wheels, wheel hoop adapters (HRSW-ADP-2 - sold separately) are available.
If you want to transport 1 recumbent delta trike or 1 recumbent tadpole-style trike with the Trail Rider, you can use the HRTRK-ADP adapter (sold separately).

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Platform Style 2 bike rack. The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider is a premium bike rack. It has everything you need to safely transport your two bikes with some added security. It holds bikes by their frame, which means it's going to work with a wide variety of bikes. We've got a mountain bike here, a road bike, but it's also going work with women's and children's bikes and bikes with alternative frame styles. Here at the bottom, the cradles hold their bikes by their tires. Both the frame hook and the cradles work together in supporting our bike. The frame hook puts down pressure on our bike into the cradles holding it in place. Here's a side shot of the cradles between the two bikes.
You can see how they're separated and how they're also going to minimize bike to bike contact. We go ahead and remove the bikes so we can take a closer look. The frame hooks themselves are padded. This is going to prevent any harm or scratches to our bike's frame. Now they're also adjustable along the center mast. This is what's going to allow it to work with those many different frame styles. To raise it up, you'll simply just press in on the button.
When you've got your bike in place, you just push down over your bike's frame, and then it's nice and secure. Now what's nice about this is it's lockable. This is where the added security comes in. This is going to prevent anyone from removing our bike from our bike rack.Once you've got it down over your bike, it includes two keys. You lock it up, remove it, and then no one can push in on the button. Raise it up to remove your bike. Here at the bottom, the wheel cradles are adjustable along the platform.
This is so we can use bikes with different size wheel bases. An example would be kid's bikes versus adult size bikes. Once we got it in place, you tighten it down with the large knob, and then we run that hook and loop strap over our wheel to secure it.The wheel cradles will work with tires up to three inches wide. They are adjustable along the platform for bikes with different size wheel bases. So that'd be like your children's bikes versus adult size bikes.Once you've got it in place, you just tighten it up, and then you can secure your wheel with the hook and loop strap. If you have a fat bike and you already own the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider, you can pick up the fat bike adapter kit with part number HRSPRWH-F-HD.
Though it doesn't tilt away with bikes loaded like some platform racks, the center mast does tilt backward with the puller pin, so we can gain access to our rear hatch. The advantage to this is we don't have to remove the whole bike rack to load and unload our gear. The other advantage is even if we could tilt it away with bikes loaded, we'd have to worry about tilting it back up in place again, which can be very strenuous and heavy. The disadvantage is you have to remove the bikes so you can access your rear hatch, and you have limited clearance to load and unload your gear. To me, this is a minor disadvantage. Most of the time my bikes are already off the bike rack. Then I open up my rear hatch to remove my helmet, shoes, and any other gear I need for the trails. The Trail Rider features a shank rise of five inches. Not only is this going to give us better ground clearance here at the rear, but it's also going to give us a higher loading height for us when we're putting our bikes in place. It includes an anti-rattle bolt and lock. The nice thing about the anti-rattle bolt, it's going to help reduce all that play within our hitch receiver and our bike rack to make a nice solid ride for our bikes. You can see here I'm shaking the bike rack and the entire vehicle. Now the nice thing about the lock is no one's going to be able to remove our bike rack from our hitch. The lock itself is keyed alike to our frame hooks. And two keys are included. When the Trail Rider is not in use, the cradle platforms fold up. You'll simply remove that pin, rotate it upward, and reinsert the pin.Now this is the stowed position. As you can see it makes it more compact. This is going to make it easier to store in your garage. But you can also keep it this way on your vehicle while you're driving around town. You'll notice that the pins themselves don't use any clips to prevent them from coming out. They actually have a raised tab that locks them into place. What you'll do is you'll line it up with the notch on the bike rack. And as we turn it, you can see we cannot get it back out until it's realigned. Now we'll give you some clearance dimensions to give you an idea of where this is going to sit on the back of your vehicle. This distance from the center of the inaudible 00:04:55 hole to the closest part of the rack is about 13 inches. The distance from the center of the inaudible 00:04:59 hole to the end of the rack is about 30 inches. For those of you who like to take your bikes on long vacations, the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider is motor home approved.Let's go ahead and take it on our test course and see how it performs. Here on our test course, let's first go into our inaudible 00:05:14. This is going to show side to side action, such as going around corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our alternating speed bumps. This is going to show a twisting action, such as going over potholes or uneven pavement. And then finally onto our solid speed bumps. This is going to show an up and down action, such as pulling in and out of a driveway or out of a parking garage. The Trail Rider has a weight capacity of 45 pounds per bike. And like all Hollywood racks it's made out of a durable steel construction with a standard black powder coat finish. This is going to make it rust and corrosion resistant. Now that we've done all the features I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. Now it's important to note that you do need a hitch receiver to work with this bike rack. The nice thing is it can either be an inch-and-a quarter or a two-inch receiver. That's class one or class two.You can see here how it has an adapter sleeve that goes over the shank that allows it to work with that two-inch receiver. That can simply be removed with the included tools, and then you've got it to work with your inch-and-a-quarter receiver. We'll go ahead and load it into our hitch receiver and line up our pinholes. Once the pinholes are aligned, we can take our included anti-rattle bolt and start threading that through here on the passenger side. Once we get that hand tightened we can tighten it the rest of the way down. Now it uses a 3/4 inch wrench or socket. And you'll have to provide your own tools. Get that nice and secure. Give it a good shake. Make sure there's no rattle. And then we can put our lock on the other side. It simply just clips in place. When it comes to loading for bikes it's just as easy. We'll want to drop down our trays. So we'll remove the pin and reinsert it in the other hole. With the trays down let's undo our wheel straps. Now the one thing that's unique to this bike rack is the center mast. We know that it folds backwards. We can use this to our advantage when loading up our first bike. So we'll pull that pin, lower it back. We'll grab that first bike and set it in place. You can see how this makes it a lot easier, rather than having to lift our bike up over that center mast. Once it's in place, we can raise it back up, replace that pin, and then lower down our frame hook. Then we can run our wheel straps. From there we'll just load up our second bike. With everything loaded up, let's go ahead and lock it.And that's going to complete our look at the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Platform Style 2 bike rack.

Even though I’ve done a lot of biking, I have never had a bike rack before. I wanted a sturdy, functional rack that would last me for years. This is a nice rack; well made, heavy duty and I especially like the built in locks for attaching the rack to the car and for keep the bikes locked in place. Thanks for a great product! 723366
I am so happy with this bike rack! I had originally ordered a Swagman model for my Mazda 3 Hatchback, but Michelle S. contacted me when it wasn't immediately available. She recommended this brand. I love it! It was easy to assemble and the bikes are so secure. I love that it locks to my car, and that the hooks lock with the same key. The velcro straps for the tires are an added bonus. Very easy to use. The bikes hardly moved at all during our 3 hour drive this past weekend. My boyfriend and I have polar opposite sized bikes, and it was not a problem at all. They don't touch, and are very secure with this rack. It was a relief to travel and not have to worry about the bikes damaging each other or our vehicle. I am so thrilled with this product! I can't recommend it highly enough! 693997
Excellent bike rack. Looks Good and works even better. Not a big bulky mass on the back of your vehicle like the more expensive models. 661334
Well made and easy to install. Easy ordering and delivered on time. Thanks to all. 640347

La entrega fue a tiempo, el ensamble fue fasil, los materiales se miran de buena calidad, me gusta y si hubiera algo que mejorar solamente seria que cuando no se usa se doblara hacia el carro. Translation: The delivery was on time, the assembly was facile, the materials look good quality, I like it and if there was something to improve it would only be that when it is not used it will bend towards the car. 605433
If you are looking for a 2 bike platform rack that will fold up towards the vehicle I recommend Swagman Chinook 2 bike rack part # S64683
Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting
$249.00. The Swagman chinook will fit a 1-1/4 and 2 Inch hitch and the rack can easily fold up and out of the way. I have attached a photo below.
Great product. Arrived earlier than scheduled. The packaging was great. Directions were clear and accurate. Assembly was a breeze. My only caveat is that it comes with a threaded pin for the hitch an it’s smaller diameter than my hitch pin. I’ll try this one for a while, it comes with a lock. But I think I’ll probably end up drilling the hole out so I can use my standard pin. Easier to remove from car with that pin 667244
I was so surprised How quickly I receive my bike rack Customer service quality trailer apart. 633369
Excellent bike rack and easy to install. There were two 'extra' washers not mentioned in the instructions but evidently that they are to be used in Assembly instruction Step 1(5) with the two spacers. 658562
Don't know what this product is like because I haven't even had a chance to get it out of the cargo box and try it yet before you started hounding me about a review. I just got it yesterday afternoon. And besides, I'm not going to use it for a while but I'm assuming that it will satisfy my needs to transport 2 bicycles safely and securely. By watching your video, I saw what I needed and it appeared that it is a good product. Therefore I don't have a rating yet?!! Nor will I for some time. Thanks. 727150
etrailer has excellent customer service. Their prices are very competitive. I’m a return customer and will continue to shop here in the future. Hollywood Racks are strong and will protect your bikes. Definitely one of the best bike racks on the market. 725958
Easy to install. However, I did not realize the bike rack connected to the hitch via a long, threaded bolt. So, my bike rack will stay on or off for awhile. It isn't a quick switch to take the rack on and off. On the plus side, it seems to create a solid connection. 720438
Installation was easy. No problems. fits my 2010 Camaro nicely. Will need to pad the pedal closest to car to protect the car finish. Will post again when I get to use is as weather is getting crappy already. 718783
Ordering from etrailer was a very good, professional experience; the rack was delivered in 2 business days, well packed and without any shipping damage. etrailer gets 5 stars! Regarding the product....The Hollywood HR200Z rack is easy to assemble with the provided parts and tools. Pros: 5" rise of the main receiver bar tube provides good ground clearance, the 3" inside-width wheel holder hoops accommodate broad range of bike tire widths, overall construction and fit is very good, the main tube fits into class I, II, III hitches, includes an adapter sleeve so it can fit into 2" hitch. The horizontal tubes can fold up 90 degrees, to reduce the rack's storage footprint. Cons: I am concerned that the frame hook ratcheting mechanism may not be reliable, due to somewhat delicate parts & construction used for the mechanism. In fact, one of the ratchets that came with my rack was not usable because the springs don't stay in their designed position, and end up blocking the ratchet release rocker button from moving enough to release the ratchet so it can move. (In actual use, that results in not being able to get your bike off the rack, because you can't move the hook.) Hollywood was very responsive and has offered to replace the ratchet hook part asap. That is greatly appreciated! (But I might end up using simpler hand knob clamp frame hooks.) 718263
Received product on time. Easy assembly. Seems to be very solid in place with very little movement. I will get a chance to use it in the next two weeks. 690583
Our rack was delivered fast, well packaged, and was exactly as described. 672799
So far no problems. Installed on my kids 2006 honda CRV. Plenty of room for the bike nearest to the door mounted spare tire. Rear door opens up enough to unload gear when the rack is folded up. Install was easy, need 3/4 socket and wrench. 658871
Fits on my car perfectly! I’ll be using next week. I’m sure it will be great but will update if anything changes. 656994
The bike rack was delivered on time. I have not had a chance to put it together yet. I am very happy so far. 634671
