Rotating Arm with Ratcheting Hook and Fender Strap

>RockyMounts HighNoon 3 Bike Fender StrapRockyMounts HighNoon 1 Bike Fender Strap

The RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo has a ratcheting hook with a stabilizer strap that grabs your bike firmly by the front wheel, not the frame or the fender. It's perfect for carrying an e-bike with fenders, a carbon bike, or a bike with a custom paint job. To load your bike, simply place the front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, press down firmly on the ratcheting hook, and wrap the strap around the wheel below the fender. The front wheel cradle also has a stabilizer strap to further secure your bike to the rack.

Pivoting Rear Wheel Cradle

RockyMount 10007 HighNoon Solo Adjustable Ratchet Straps

The rear wheel cradle accommodates a wide variety of bike wheelbases. It pivots front to back, adjusting automatically to your bike's wheelbase so there's no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheel in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. The strap also includes an extender for use with a fat bike.

Front-Mounted Handle for Easy Tilting and Folding

RockyMounts Mono Rail Solo Tilt Action LeverRockyMounts Mono Rail Solo Tilt Action Lever

The rack tilts down with your bike loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bike to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

RockyMount 10007 HighNoon Handle

To make tilting and folding easier, the handle is mounted on the front of the rack. This means you won't have to reach through or around your bike with one hand to reach the handle, while supporting the rack's weight with the other, when lowering the rack. Instead, you'll be able to hold the rack with both hands the entire time.

Easy Installation

RockyMounts HighNoon Anti Rattle Hitch Pin

The rack installs with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank into your hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

RockyMounts HighNoon Solo Hitch Adapter

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

Complete Security

RockyMount 1007 HighNoon Solo Built-In Cable LockRockyMount HighNoon Built-In Cable Lock

The included locks secure your bike to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. The integrated cable lock threads around your bike's frame and secures to the pivot bolt on the base of the rack.

RockyMount HighNoon Solo Locking Hitch Pin

The hitch lock simply snaps onto the hitch pin. The cable and hitch lock are keyed alike, so you'll only need 1 key for both locks.

Optional 1-Bike Add-On

RockyMount HighNoon Solo Add-On 1-Bike Extension

An optional 1-bike add-on (sold separately) allows you to convert the rack from a single bike carrier to a 2-bike carrier. This is great for occasions when a friend wants to tag along, or if you find a permanent riding partner.

I have used this for over a year now and am completely happy with the design and function. Using it with a Trek e-mtb that weighs 54+ lbs. I like that the bolt that pins it to the receiver, locks it down tight so there is zero movement/rattle going down the road. Also love the included security cable and the 2 matching locks that came with it, to secure to the rack to the receiver and cable to the bike. I also like the fact that it can be converted to a 2 bike carrier with the purchase of an additional add-on unit.

After 2 years of use I am still happy with this rack. However one of the locks was lost in transit and I am disappointed that a replacement lock is not available to purchase from the manufacturer or e-trailer.

Great deal, I picked up this lightly used Rockymounts Highnoon FC Solo Bike Rack for a little less money with a few minor scratches (that I spray-painted). Really, it was almost new, the bottom of the rack closest to the ground was where it was marred so I assume someone with a lower vehicle returned this. I'm including tons of photos of it mounted with and without the bike, tilted with hatch open plus various close-ups with the hook mounted close to and further from the fork (further from the fork being useful for bikes with fenders). I drove it briefly both ways and didn't notice much movement either way, but it did seem more solid with the hook mounted closer the fork. So yeah, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I returned a Thule rack that wasn't weight-rated to my e-bike (should've done more research) and paid less for the used Rockymounts rack (even with the restocking fee!). If I need to carry another bike, I can order the Highnoon Add-On for another $200. It looks to be as simple a build as this one was. Easy-to-understand directions, good quality materials, like powder-coated steel and study plastic. The rubber straps remind me of Snowmobile hood straps which are quite durable. I don't think that I'll even cut them, just wrap and tuck under, nice grab-nubs on the ends. Anyways they're available in the Rockymounts site for a reasonable price as are all the parts if they need replacement. All hardware was thankfully included (tools even). I think it looks very sharp on my Crosstrek. Oh, it doesn't block my plate when folded up which I'm happy about (add-ons would change that).
So stoked about the Rockymounts Highnoon FC Solo.

@EdC I hope your bike season weather is better than ours here in Missouri! Its either a tornado or rain or both at the same time, but I am glad you are getting out. How often would you say you're using your bike rack?

by:

Decent for the money, but there's a design issue for ebikes like the Lectric XP (20" tires and rear hub motor). This is the most popular ebike in the US and the load is carried way to one side of the rack. There's a side to side adjustment but only a few inches. Even with the tray set as far to the right (front wheel) as possible, the much heavier rear hub is 25" to the hitch and the front hub is just 19". If I could move the tray 10" to the right, this would position the bike perfectly. I think it's awful that they didn't simply fabricate additional bolt holes to allow for this adjustment. Rockymounts recommended that I spend $1000 on a different one of their racks, which only is available in a 2-bike model. Disappointing.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, Jerry. I'm glad you found a way to make this work, although I do understand it is not the ideal set up. Please keep in mind since e-bike batteries are susceptible to combustion during a collision, we recommend removing the battery while you are transporting it with your bike rack as a safety precaution. E-bikes are so much fun! Where do you like to ride?

@VictoriaH Thanks Victoria, but I really didn't find a solution. The bike is mounted but I worry that the uneven load might create an issue, especially if I need to make a sudden lane change. I might sell this one and find a better option. I hate to lose money over something so silly but I really shouldn't use this rack.

by:

2 things I would prefer: I would feel more confident if there was a second stabilizing bar and I wish the bike sat in the opposite direction so the bike chain was towards the vehicle so I wouldn’t be covered in bike grease after getting it mounted. I’m 70 and e-bikes are heavy. Maybe I should have gotten one with a ramp.

by:

So far so good. Assembly was super easy compared to previous bike racks. One of the main reasons we went with this one was its low profile. The one bike version sits low enough that it does not impede the vehicle backup sensors when not in use. As for the build of the rack, it appears sturdy where it needs it. The tip back position does allow for easy trunk access. All in all, good purchase.

by:

Great customer service. And manufacturer answered questions as well very happy

by:

It is ok but not as stable as Thule I had. It does hold the bike securely. For the price it is fine. I like the integrated locks where as another band, 1Up which I liked better, does not have the same. The main Reason I did purchase it

by:

Love this bike rack. Instructions were easy to follow, and it is easy to mount my e-bike. Like the fact that the rack when empty is lower that the lift gate of my suv.

by:

etailer was helpful in answering questions prior to ordering. Then bike rack I’ll put together tomorrow. Looks pretty straightforward. Compared price with Amazon and etrailer had the same price. Wanted and gave the sale to etailer. Great people to do business with

by:

i like it ! no issues

by:

I like the bike carrier, it has good quality and also a smart design. It is not too heavy and it is compact.
I wish the locking system was more convinient, the cable loocks strong but is too long.
I had difficulty instaling the end cap on the bar that secures the front weel, the holes for the two screws where not aligned for that reason was not easy to get them in.
Overall a good product, I spect to use this bike carrier for many years.

by:

Thank you for written instructions in addition to drawings! So tired of Chinese manuals that either have no written instructions or are in gibberish. This bike rack works perfectly with my Chevy Express van. The tilt function allows me to open my rear doors for access to the van. A well designed rack that allows me access to my vehicle through the rear doors

by:

Transaction was quick and easy. Rack arrived in perfect condition. Thank you.

by:

The rack works really well, and I even have an awkward bike because it is actually an adult scooter retrofitted for urban mushing. Finding a rack has been really difficult, but this one is perfect! The assembly directions are really poorly written though. I found an assembly video online that helped tremendously. Great bike rack, and easy service with etrailer.

by:

I got this for expandability, low profile so I can lower my tailgate with it on, and compatibility with e-bikes with fenders. Assembly was pretty quick and easy. Only issue is that your front fenders cannot come down to low to the ground - the front wheel stop will interfere.

by:

A well engineered product. The assembly instructions could have been better.

  • Best Bike Rack for E-Bikes with Fenders Step Through Frame and 1-1/4 inch Hitch
We have the perfect rack for carrying your e-bikes with fenders and step through frames! You will want the Thule Easy Fold XT part # TH903202. This rack will fit your 1-1/4 inch hitch, has frame clamps designed for your style of frame, is specifically intended for e-bikes, and comes with ramps to make loading/unloading the heavier bikes (which it is rated for) easier. I attached a picture of the rack carrying a bike just like yours for you to check out as well.

For a bike rack we have a handful of options but what you're going to be wanting is a platform rack that is classified as a wheel mount. This means that it will have the weight capacity needed for your 40 lb E-Bike and then an arm that secures your bike by the wheel and not the frame. If you only plane on carrying your 1 bike then I recommend using the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY87RR because it is just smaller and easier...

Good morning, Diane. That is a good question since the RockyMounts HighNoon # RKY87RR and the RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10007 are quite similar. The HighNoon is essentially the newer version of the same RockyMounts bike rack. We started selling the HighNoon just last year, whereas the MonoRail has been around much longer. You should place your E-Bike as close to your 2017 Buick Encore as possible when using the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4412B, which means on the inside of the rack. The reason for this is so the rack and your bike remain as stable as possible and does not put added stress on either.
