How does this compare to something like the Kuat Piston SR for a single bike?

Great question, Hannah. Both use wheel-mount systems and avoid frame contact, but the Crosstrack 1 bike 2" hitch # HLY98RR has a tilt feature and no-tool install thanks to the No-Wobble feature (uses a handle that you twist by hand). The Kuat # KU88ZR requires use of an allen key every time you want to install or remove the bike rack, and does not tilt at all.

The Kuat Piston SR does have a higher weight rating, but the Crosstrack still beats it in terms of price, and ease of use.

What are your thoughts? I know which one I'd go with if budget is a big factor.
